ACMob : Break-out day for the Red Hawks !!! ;)

ROC : No, but I'm a Red Hawk Fan. :) God luck today.

Yellow : Probably not, but watch out for the last game this year in the NJAC.

Dan : Something tells me that with the win last week we may start a modest
little winning streak ending with a win on the last game of the year and
maybe an ECAC bid, or do fairy tales really come true. :)Let's see what
          happens today.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pS : I gotta figure how to work the colors etc. :)

It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

What Phil is referring to has be talked about exhaustively on the MAC board...you can read it for yourself....

Mandefense:

Pat also mentions this in passing in his front-page column ....

Weather currently in Cortland, NY at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex where I'm glad I'm sitting inside.

Cool, high 50s-low 60s; downpour starting which has tapered off a little as I type this. Good thing we have field turf here. Dark skies overhead after some sun, I suspect it will be like this the rest of the afternoon. Hope you're warm and inside wherever you may be listening.

Fellows,
What Phil  has mentioned was more alive a few years ago then it is right now, but if montclair, w-pat & kean continue to grow so much in enrollment & as they talk (they have) of moving up to d-2 status, tcnj would go in the other direction (smaller enroll., even more ridiculous entry standards etc etc  )
today... rowan wins a close game... cortland has been w/ all year for today, but rowan qb & recvrs are about as good as d-3 gets... not enough offense from cortland...too much wright & qb from profs.... msu  beats up w-p... msu has come a few plays away from winning 4 games so far this year... tcnj.... impoves again this week, but too  many (way way too many) turnovers give w conn too many chances to score... but i wouldnt be shocked !!!

Just out of curiosity, in your book just what constitutes "ridiculous entry standards"?

Is the Cortland audio link subscription only, or can I listen for free?

nah BCMonsters is free. If it doesn't work when you click the link, try copy and pasting it into WMP

It wouldn't surprise me to see a prof blow out today.  Whenever the profs seem to vulnerable like they did two weeks ago in thier sleepwalk victory over tcnj, they seem to do the opposite of what they critics expect of them.
lets go with Rowan winning it 35-10.

JT

Hi Joe,

Welcome back.  Defense comes up big Rowan wins 24-16.  Orihel has hurt his throwing hand, was icing it in the 4th.  Had the backup... Rankin in.

Hey JT, I just wanted to give you the #'s for your fantasy team from the Hobart game (sorry the secondary didn't play that great).  I don't know what stats on d you use so I'll give you it all.

Blakowski 24 carries 149 yds, 3tds
Defense 9 pts, total yds 277, 287 passing, -10 rushing, 1 FR, 1 int 6 sacks.

MSU - 26     Willy P - 16

We were winning 23-O at half. Finailly, maybe a blow-out-out, but not to happen. The secondary started to play soft and we gave up 16 in the second half. The D played very well, and the O was pretty good. We ran the ball a lot and controlled most of the game. I'm looking forward to seeing the stats. We can not let up in the second half if we are going to beat W.Conn next week. We are now a 500 team 3-3. A long way to go, but all in all a good game for the young Red Hawks.  Congratulations guys, and prepare hard for next week. As I said in an earlier post, fairy tales can come true. ;)

Cortland gave Rowan a good fight today, but there is just too much D1 talent on the Profs.  Particularly at QB and WR.  Sakeen Wright is about as good as it gets on a D3 team - big, physical, fast, great hands.

Cortland had some horrible mistakes on special teams and a few weird calls went against them.  But that's all part of the game, and they were still in position to tie in the final 2 minutes.

No way Rowan will look past Montclair and fail to clinch the title.  They are too good, and they will be very tough along with Fisher and IC come playoff time.

It was a fun game to watch today.  I'll have the pictures up sometime overnight as I'm working late.

JT - I'll let you know when the pictures are ready.

Whoa ... and wait a minute! I was under the impression that Rowan's days of having D1 talent were now part of the dust of history. Was I misinformed? Kindly advise soonest, if not sooner.

dpadavona

Rowan's receivers are clearly D1 material, especially Wright.  Orihel could play D1 too without question.  Is Brian Bond a D1 kid?  Probably not, but I bet he'd start on a lot of D1-AA and DII teams.

Rowan is very good.  The survivor between Rowan, Fisher, and IC is going to be a quality representative in NCAA semis.  One of those guys might be in Salem this season.
