Hey JT

When is the NJAC Media Day? Could sure use a little info before the season starts. Thanks.

Usually it is the first Tuesday or Wednesday in August.  Another D3football.com correspondent covers the NJAC Media day now.  Try Google News and search for NJAC + football tomorrow or Thursday and you should find the NJAC Coaches Poll and maybe a little writeup in the Jersey papers.

Thanks for the info. Look forward to seeing you at "Sam Mills Field". A dog / burger/ beer are in order. See you then. :)

I'm thinking of contacting Shah and volunteering my services that day.  Try my hand at color for the first time in a long time, but I can see you before the game.

Looking forward to it. What is the outlook for the Profs this year?

Shah's email bounced.  Oh well.  Looks like I'll be taking pictures.

I am not certain how to look at the Profs this year.  The QB situation has me concerned.  Hagerty is the most experienced and is a senior.  His height has been a problem in the past, as has his consistency. I believe they've graduated about 15-20 seniors from last year. I think they need a few new key transfers (if they have them) to step in, for the Profs to contend in the end. Otherwise its a very young team.

Sight unseen 6-4 or 7-3.  If the QB situation works out and we get solid Wr play, and 100 yd rushing per game... maybe 8-2 or 9-1.

ahhhh...shaking the dust off.  I am as guilty as anyone in not contributing over the offseason.  Must be that we on this board have other things to do besides bleed football all over the place like our brethren on the other boards.

Lots of excitement in Cortland with the Jets in town.  Joe Namath here yesterday and the Jets have certainly added some recognizable names...Ladanian Tomlinson, Santonio Holmes, Lavernius Coles, Jason Taylor, Cromartie...boy, it's fun watching these guys in your own backyard.  You should all make the trip up and spend a day.

Excited about the Red Dragons too.  Could be a good year.  Here's hoping we can keep our QBs healthy.

clandfan - nice to see you back. Start getting ready for the Pick-Em's. Must be pretty exciting having the Jets in Cortland. Out of all the NJAC teams Cortland appears to have the most starters returning, yet the D3 Preseason Poll does not have Cortland in top 50. ??? I still think the NJAC will be a (4) horse race, but that's why we play the game. I was happy to see Montclair get the nod at #25. I hope that gives us something to shoot for and not get a fat head and come out laying an egg. ;) I'm looking forward to coming to Cortland this year. I hope the results start to change. ;D Good luck on your season.

Can someone give me an update on what's happening with Darryl Jackson's (Kean DT) tryout with the Philadelphia Eagles??? I heard he was invited to minicamp then I didn't hear anything else afterwards? Any updates would be appreciated ... Thanx! ;o)

Read it on the NJAC site earlier this week. It's always sad to see a young man pass. As you said, may he rest in peace.

Does anyone know where Cortland practices while the Jets are in town?

I usually make my way over to a practice or two during the preseason, but don't know where I would be going this year. Didn't make it to a practice last year, so I have no idea.
GO FISHER!!!

XREDDRAGON77

While up at a Golf Outing in June, I was told that the Jets venture off behind the stadium so several  fields that were purpose built to duplicate the new Meadowlands complex (crown, turf consistency, etc...)  They don't use the fields that the Dragons use.
Taste It!

Does Montclair have scrimage this season? I know this must be top secret information, but inquisitive minds want to know. ::) Where and when?

Hey Rams...thanks for the welcome.  I was a little surprised that we weren't top 50 but you know as well as I that it doesn't matter where you are ranked preseason; its the post-season ranking we want.  We do have a large returning class.  Will be tough to fill Wiley's shoes but we should still be strong defensively.  Just about everyone else returns.  On the other side of the ball...we need to find some young receivers who can step up.  Tough to replace Hajnos.  On the bright side,  Pitcher returns to QB having recovered from the achilles tear.  People around the league don't really know how good this kid is because they haven't seen him.  I hope we can keep him and the rest of our QBs healthy this year.  Almost our whole OL returns bigger and stronger  with a year under their belt.  We are on our 4th OL coach in the past 3 yrs  though.  I am hoping he is a good fit.  We have the potential to be very good but we don't play the games on paper.  We will all know soon enough.  Good luck to you and all. ;)

sjfcards:  Jets camp ends today.  Cstate started yesterday.  should be no conflict.  I believe they will be practicing in the stadium but I am hearing a rumor about turf trouble, will kinow soon if there is any truth here.  In any event, it is all one big complex, they will either be in the stadium or on grass on either side of the stadium.  The Jets fields are just sick....they are gorgeous and meticulously maintained.  I have to think the cstate team will have use of those fields but don't know for sure.

Good to hear your response. If you go back and check out my predictions, I had Montclair  #1 (as a homer) and you guys #2. You have the most returning and are always scarey. I don't like playing you guys in Cortland and hope for some better luck this year. My best to Cortland and the rest of the NJAC. Get ready, the NJAC Pick-Em's will soon start. ;D
