Any word out of the Dragon's Camp?  Anybody catch a peek and have any thoughts?

Red and White scrimmage was this past Sunday.  The one's look awesome.  QB Pitcher looked healthy and was sharp.  Some depth in the backfield and at receiver.

As good as the one's looked.  The two's were not good and the three's...wow...let's just be glad that not many will have to play.  Not alot of depth at some key positions.

Scrimmage vs U of R on Sat. at home.  Opening game at Keane on 9/11.  Huge game right out of the blocks.

dlip is high on Cortland State this year.  IF IF IF they stay healthy dlip thinks they will be one to contend with in the East here in 2010.

Thanks.  Now I just to find time to make a better effort than I did last year. I'm thinking I can make six games.

JT is definitely a college "varsity player".  Makes my blog look like high school JV team ;)

Wow....Props JT.   Haven't seen much from Cortland's "unofficial site" yet.  Hopefully Dan will resurrect it.  Best of luck.

I see Willy P beat TCNJ last night.  I guess I'm a little surprised but not much. Anybody have any info/comment other than what was written on the D3 site?
First time Will P has opened with a conference win.

Willy P is a pretty good team. If you overlook them they can bite you in the butt. TCNJ has lost a lot, especially their QB and thay will definitely be rebuilding this year.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

It doesn't look good for TCNJ when they win the turnover battle 4-1 and still lose the game. No offense to speak of.

Cortland clearly outplayed UR but I came away a little disappointed.  I wanted to be wowed and I wasn't.  1st team offense had difficulty putting ball in the endzone.  Would move it and stallout.  Looks to be some timing issues with Pitcher and a young receiving corp yet.  Threw some balls that should have been caught but threw some iffy ones too.  OL looked pretty good.  Cortland deep at RB with little dropoff.  Defense was strong with the exception of one drive where UR scored on the ones.  not sure they scored after that.  All in all a good day but lots to work on going into Kean on Saturday.

Rowan 24 - Lycoming 17.  Listened on the web.

Rowan went with a Fr. Kenny Brock at QB.  Brock is from NJ but went to a prep school in Maine for year.  Played against Ivy JV teams and DIII JV teams.  A tale of two halves.  Brock appears to have the tools, but the connection between he and the WR's sputtered at times.  Still he was pretty much mistake free in the first half and was able to move the ball for 17 points.  Start of 2nd half, RB Corcoran went for a 72 yd scamper to the house.  Then it started to break down.  Brock threw a 25 int that was returned for a TD, then threw two more that led to scores.  He tried to force some balls.

Defense is solid as usual. OL has many vets.  WR's have more speed than last year. RB's are not very experienced but are supposed to be deep.  Profs have a bye and have a lot to work on before the Montclair showdown in two weeks.
