Cortland laying the wood down on Buff St this afternoon.  28-7 with a bit left in the 4th.

Yeah that's really taking it to them...

Yeah yea......I forget that Buff St has fallen hard from what they used to be.
Taste It!

After losses to WPU and FDU, a two win season for TCNJ is not unlikely. The Cortland, Montclair, Rowan and Kean could be ugly. They'll be fortunate to go .500 against WConn, Brockport, MoVille and Buffalo. Quite a fall-off after the 2007 playoff season.

Ouch... that was a rough 26-7 loss to Montclair.  I think the talent level was about equal, but it was clear that Montclair was the more experienced team.  The freshman QB for Rowan missed too many open receivers.  A lot of back shoulder deliveries and off the mark throws.

Montclair benefited from a missed clip non-call on their second TD.  The clip was right at my feet as the ballcarrier was coming at me.  Other than that Rowan was out executed.

All-in-all neither offense was impressive.  If Cortland is balanced, I think they are the front runners.

I run into male TCNJ alumni who complain that TCNJ is turning into a girls school. The requirements are so ridiculous, that if you are any kind of male ballplayer you might as well go Ivy League.  Princeton is easier to get in to.

Nice win for Cortland but they are far from firing on all cylinders yet.  Too many penalties and I think Pitcher is still struggling with his receivers.  He hit one kid right in the ear hole who was never even looking for the ball...on a slant no less.  Receivers need to step up and go get the ball.  ON the other hand...Autera is a special player...he keeps this up his is player of the year.

Nice talking to you, your Dad and your brother. It was definitely a game I did not expect with the exception of our "D". As you said neither "O" was impressive and I'm tired of beating a dead horse when it comes to our play calling and Fisher's inability to be mobile or run when there is 20 yards of open field in front of him. I will take the win and go on from here. ::) Good luck to the Prof's the rest of the year.

Cortland is pretty balanced but we have much to improve on.

Of course, you are always your own worst critic...just look at Rams.  All Montclair does is win these days and Fisher is terrible, the play calling is terrible what have you.  We've been hearing this for 2 yrs.  Sorry Rams but it's true.  You are tough on your own.  Montclair is good.  When the time comes, I hope we are better.  Right now it is questionable.

Cortland is very sound on D.  Offensively, our running game is solid.  OL has been good. Autera is a special player and a coach's dream. We literally go 4 or 5 deep with RBs.  Our pass protect has been ok but I think our passing game has yet to fire on all cylinders.  Our inexperience at WR is showing.  If it all comes together...look out.

You know I love my Red Hawks and I try to be honest. Our "D" is very good, and I like our"O" with the exception of our playcalling and Fisher has absolutely no mobility and when given the opportunity to scramble for a big gain, he runs scared. You need to keep the "D" honest. We should beat Morrisville and then we go to Kean which will be a big test. I also realize that Fisher is told what to do and retract some of the criticism, but he has to show some heart like he did against Mount Union last year. Show me that and I will become his biggest supporter. ;D

Just checked out the AFCA Coaches Poll. (5) teams represented from the East.

13.  Ithaca
14.  Del Val
19.  Montclair
21.  Fisher
22.  Cortland

Interesting how defferent people vote. I can't see how they have Ithaca ahead of Del Val. No knock on Ithaca. I can see Fisher and Cortland getting some love. Still it is really too early in the season. After everyone plays (5) games we should have a better idea. Let's hope the East gets stronger this year.

Good luck to all this weekend.  Not a great week as far as match-ups are concerned.  Then again, we don't play the games on paper.  I would think that Cortand should handle Wconn, Montclair shouldn't have any difficulty with Mville.  Having seen both Kean and Buff St...this one goes to Kean.  Buff St won't handle D'Ambrisi and Gwaltney well.   Rowan and TCNJ are down this year.  This weekend may tell just how far down if Willy P and Bport come out on top.

To all: I hope your team wins...unless your team is West Conn, of course.  Go RED DRAGONS
