I'm afraid it's not rocket science...contain Giuliano and Autera and Cortland will struggle.  Rowan did and we did.  Throw in an uncharacteristic game by QB Pitcher and a loss of his younger brother on the OL and it was just a rotten day.  We will get a test of character now as we will see how they respond.   I'm pretty concerned now with a makeshift OL that doesn't have a lot of experience.

Congrats to Rowan.

That was scary... I rarely hear noise, but Pitcher's brother screamed in pain.  Hopefully, its just a high ankle sprain.  He'll need X-rays to confirm a non-break, but the doc thought it wasn't broken.

We were parked next to the Pitcher's.  At halftime Mr. Pitcher was still hopeful.

Does anyone know how the NJAC determines the conference champion when 2 or more teams have identical conference records? Do they use head to head record, overall record etc.?

XREDDRAGON77

I guess if Rowan and Cortland win out, that will leave a 3 way tie including Montclair St.   Due to the identical conference record, and round robin scenario, there has to be another criteria.  Several years ago I read that in such a situation.....the NJAC sends the team who has been the farthest removed from a playoff appearance.  I believe thats Rowan since they went last in 06.

I hope that is not true as it is totally moronic.  My HS team just won a  3 way tie breaker to win our league last night.  3 way round robin w/ all 3 having  5-1 conference records.  Head to head is out.  2nd criteria is points against in the 1st half.  At least that prevents teams from running it up if a "for/against point differential" was used, and allows for 2nd half substitutions once  a game is secured.

MSU Pride

Cmon, MSU is defiantly not overrated, they are 6-0 ranked 14th in the Country, there hasn't been one game accept for maybe the first half of the TCNJ game where it looked like they weren't in control...They score on Offense, Defense and special teams and when they go up to the dirtiest team I ever played against in Cortland, they to will fall victim to the NJAC champs just like the rest! LOL figure I would wake this board up a little  :D

Dan,

You are one class guy and will always be one. It was great to meet you and just clear your head and I'm sure you will be back. You are a huge Cortland Fan and I'm proud to have met you and look forward to seeing you soon.

Hey Pride , just back from WVa. this afternoon and read the overrated comment. All you can do is play the games every week. We've beat Rowan and Kean. Results are all that count as of now. I would not want to be Morrisville playing Cortland next week. Cortland is a real good team and things happen. We need to take care of business next week. That's all we can worry about. We have to hold onto the ball better. We need to draw a line in the sand and make sure we play110-60 for the balance of the season and the rest will take care of itself. Just Git-R-Done, no excuses.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  &  "KEEP POUNDING"  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Based on what I saw from the Kean game they're over rated, but not by a ton...

They've got a very good defense but their offense isn't going to get them very far...

JT:  I can confirm that he is done for the season.  Ironic that it was the Rowan game that knocked his brother out last year.  He's a great kid and was having a great season.  Tough shoes to fill on the line.

Let's not forget that Keans RB once Started over Slaton at West Virginia who I believe starts for the Texans... But yes that is why we play the game, side note...Everyone say a prayer for Eric Legrand, the Defensive Tackle from Rutgers who suffered a major neck injury yesterday and after emergency surgery last night still remains paralyzed from the neck down....

Did that RB play Defense that night too and helped hold MSU to 242 yards of offense?

HELP WANTED:

Looking for Pollsters for a "soon to be unveiled" D3 TOP 25 FAN POLL.

Publishing site: www.uwwfootball.blogspot.com

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Commit to submit a ballot ranking the D3 Teams 1-25 by stated deadline. I'm thinking that will be midnight on Mondays.
2. Research the teams and try to be as unbiased as possible in ranking them.
3. Think through your own philosophy as to how much to weigh previous ranking, won/loss record, your sense as to who would win head to head, national performances in recent years, quality wins, and whatever reasonable criteria you care to choose.
4. Submit a ballot EVERY WEEK by the deadline. Missing a deadline will be cause to forfeit your spot. Create and submit your ballot BEFORE viewing the D3football.com poll. You can look at previous weeks polls to get you started if you are having a hard time filling out the last few slots.

PURPOSE OF POLL

This poll is to promote meaningful and fun discussion on d3boards.com.  It is simply something that will be fun to contrast with D3football.com's poll. D3football.com's poll is the one legitimate poll we have in D3 football in my opinion.  This poll is not even intended to become #2. I just think it would be an interesting point of comparison and discussion.

HOW TO APPLY

Send me a private message. In your message indicate:
1. you are applying to be a pollster.
2. What team/conference you follow.
3. Whether you can submit a poll as early as this Thursday. (That is not mandatory, if everyone can we may do one this week).

WHO WILL BE CHOSEN?

The first 25 respondents will be our initial group of pollsters.  This group will remain the D3 FOOTBALL FAN POLL TOP 25 pollsters unless they resign their position or miss a deadline.  Pollsters, I will never post your names on the boards.  If you choose to, that is fine. If you are beyond the first 25 responses, your name will be placed on a "waiting list".  If there are fewer than 25 respondents by midnight on Wednesday, we will go with what we have and continue to have "open" slots to be filled.

Remember FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!  ;)
