Phil,

Stop picking on Montclair. ;) I think the Football program is going in the right direction. Let's see what happens with Teddy B-Ball this year. Can't wait to tailgate in Ewing, hope the game has some meaning.

You're quote:
"I just dont like seeing d3 as a dumping ground for d1 or d-1aa players that couldnt hack it there".

So let me get this straight ...... you would do what you're condemning everyone else for and become a "dumping ground" if the guy "who couldn't hack it in D1" was good enough?  That, I think, falls in the the category of hypocrite.

Also, people who don't know the difference between "to" and  "too" shouldn't call people who do - "dumb clowns"  ;).

Phil

Here, let me choke on these words while I type them out ... I respect and generally agree with what you say in your post about transfers (wow, that hurt to say).  Regarding dopes and stupid, it is what it is and they are what they are.

Let me ask you directly, what do you think of what Warren said?

P.S.: Let's not start to agree on things as that would make things very, very boring.

JU and RU is really no contest ..... kind of like dueling with an unarmed man!

Phil,

Interesting take on the W. Conn game. A little running, a decent D, and cut out the turn-overs and the Ewing weekend should be interesting. Will I see you there?

dr gsc, I agree with you that you cant blame the schools for transfers.  I would do it to if it made my team better, but....

I think transfers should have to sit out a year if they move down a division, and they have to go to that school for the one year they sit out.  You dont lose a year of eligiblity, but you have to sit the year out.  Since you are going to a d3school to be a student athlete anyway, this shouldnt be a problem.....and I think Rowan would be a top 5 team in the nation even if they didnt have those transfers past or present, so Im not talking about them.  I just dont like seeing d3 as a dumping ground for d1 or d-1aa players that couldnt hack it there.

Didn't Jamie Donovan transfer in from a D1 school?  Now that kid can definitely play on a lot of D1 teams.  If he was on Syracuse, he'd be the starting tailback, he'd be the de facto QB because they'd have him throw HB option passes constantly, and he'd call his own plays.  He might even block for himself too.  When off the field he would serve as defensive coordinator.

Great week of football, NFL, D1 all the way down to D3, some exciting games this week!

Anyone have the scoop on Orihel?

Does anyone know what the HELL is wrong with the Pioneers of William Paterson? cause i sure don't, a few people thought this game could have been a close one and dispite the scoreboard at the end, it wasn't. MSU dominated the 1st half and slacked off the entire 2nd. Looks to me like any problems that MSU had on the offensive side of the ball is out the window, they got things going in the right direction. Willy P....another game that could have been won!

Looks TCNJ didn't have an anwser for DiMeglio.....than again Who does?

Any news on this weeks match-up's or is it still a little to early?

Pat Coleman

ROC, already covered, twice:

Heard on WGLS that Orihel left early in the 4th.  The announcers said they saw ice on Orihel's throwing hand.  We may know more in a couple of days.

Mr. Pat Coleman,

Thank you, i didn't have time to read through all of the Post's. Again i appreciate it!

Pat Coleman

Uhh... ok, but they were posts from the past 24 hours -- shouldn't be that big a burden.

TCNJ didn't have an answer for DiMeglio? DiMeglio went 14-33 for 175 yards while converting 3-12 attempts on third down. Those stats are hardly what determined the outcome of the game. If you read my earlier post, TCNJ gave up a 100 yard kickoff return and a 32 yard INT return in the fourth quarter. If you do the math, THAT might have something to do with the 30-17 loss. I'd dare say any team in the NJAC would be satisfied with limiting WestConn to 205 total yards.

...and berating the Mr. Coleman isn't exactly the way to go on this web site.

I believe xGSC answered Warren's question quite well.

I'm 50/50 for the TCNJ v. Montclair game. Mother-in-laws birthday, a local Halloween party for the kids and one of the last weekends for golf. My best bet would be for less than ideal weather and I might make about 3/4 of the game.

If anyone wants a laugh, just go read some of the accounts of Rutger's 31-9 victory over the Orange in the local Syracuse newspapers. You can almost hear the gnashing of upstate teeth all the way to Jersey!

rufan, I would be for a rule that make transfers sit out a year.  I untill that rule was made, I would play within the rules regarding any issue regarding ncaa regulations on transfers. Does that make me a hypocrite?

Its not really a huge critical moral issue for me, Im not opposed to transfers like I would be morally opposed to a kid I knew was a criminal in highschool.  If I were a d3 coach, I wouldnt recruit criminals in highschool.  Some d3 coaches dont care, and would recruit that kid.  Even though its not against the rules to have kids with criminal records to be recruited, I would still not recruit them based on a moral basis.

Again, do you really think I don't know the difference between to, two or too?  Or maybe that was a typo?  I forgot you were one of those clowns that make fun of peoples typos.............

rowanlb92

RU Fan,
I was actually refering to our fellow tcnj poster who had to throw that last stone at you!

Yes, I do in fact, know that you don't know the difference since you made it twice in both of your posts on the 16th.

No, I'm not a "clown" who makes fun of typos.  I'm the  "dumb clown", as you said, who knows the difference and questions a certain person who claims that they were typos.  This may be hard for you to believe but I am a  "dumb clown" who also makes typos.  Thank God that I got all of that "clown" business out of my system!

Regarding hypocrite, no, but your prior posts do.

I've got to go now.  I'm still trying to figure out what your 2nd paragraph means.

By the way, the NCAA established some pretty specific rules regarding what you can and can't do at the DIII level.  As long as a school/program stays within those guidelines, what's your problem?

You're lucky that a lot of criminals don't post here or you would have a ton of negative karma! ;)

bad news for the profs, orihel does have a broken wrist on his throwing hand and could be out 6 weeks, hopefully he can make a return in the playoffs

Yea, I copied and pasted my first quote, thats why the typo was there twice, so you are/were a clown that picks up peoples typos.....

My point before was that the transfer issue isnt a huge moral problem in d3 athletics, nor is it a huge moral issue to me.  If I were a d3 coach and a kid wanted to transfer to my school from a d1 program to play football, I would let him play....its not a big deal to me and its within the rules.  If there was a vote to change the rules so that kids would have to sit out a year and attend classes at that school before they could play sports then yes, I would vote for that rule.

My other point was that it is not against d3 rules to recruit high school seniors with criminal records as it is not against the d3 rules to accept transfers.  I would not recruit the kid with a criminal record because I dont want those types of kids in my program.  Some coaches wouldnt care and would recruit them.  So the latter is more important to me morally than the former..(you probably wont understand this either, I might have to go to disney.com and get some pictures for you)

Just because there are rules doesnt mean you have to agree with the rules.
