Oh yeah! Prove it........lol

Not this year my friend. At least MSU has something to look forward to (another beating in Glassboro and a long bus ride home).

But first of all, we need to get past KEAN this week.

xGSC,

Another beating in Glassboro? If my facts are correct, our last visit to Glassbobo resulted in a win. ;D
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

How much of a setback is Orihel's injury if he is indeed out for 6 weeks?

yellowhat

Let me see if I can help you here.  Orihel was the NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Year, the NJAC Offensive Player of the Year, the Southeast ECAC Player of the Year and a Football Gazette All American.  In 2 1/2 years, he has re-written just about every QB stat in the Rowan record books.

Now add all of that up and the answer to your question is-----BIG SETBACK!

However, Orihel is a tough kid.  He played the whole TCNJ game last year with a broken left hand.  I'm sure, if its at all possible, that he'll be back quickly.  Unless that wrist is severely broken, its hard for me to believe he'll be out for 6 weeks.

Its time for everyone else to step it up.  RU has a very good team with a bunch of quality athletes.  Pump it up on defense, reconfigure the offense to Rankin's strengths and bring them on!

GO PROFS ;)!

Beware of Red Hawks lurking beneath the surface.  MSU beat a heavily favored Salisbury team in which the SU starting quarterback   :(  was lost for the season.

I don't think any team will be taken lightly by the Profs now.  Every game is a big game.

RU Fan,

I just used 6 weeks because that's what somebody said earlier on the board.  I'm sure there isn't much of a timetable set now, and probably won't be until the extent of the injury is known.

It's a shame to see one of your players go down, especially someone as valuable as Orihel.  I was just curious how the Rowan folks saw the team shaping up in his absence.

Yellowhat,

It was a devastating loss, however Orihel has played with, and played extremely well with injuries his entire time at Rowan, so I'm sure that even though this is his throwing hand, I'm sure he'll be back in yellow and brown soon.

In respect to what is going to shake out this week at Kean, I don't know...but I would have loved to get a chance to go down and watch a practice this week.

The playoffs is the big picture for RU this year and every year, and if we can get Orihel healthy by then, well be okay.  This is just a minor setback if you look at the Profs long term goals of every season, and that's the Stagg.

ACMob

It's time for the ENTIRE TEAM to rally around their fallen leader and show the NJAC, EAST, and DIII just how good they can be.  This week's game is big and with Rankin getting all the reps this week, the team will be ready.

Rowan has many weapons and I'm sure coach will use them accordingly.  We will have to see how things shake out this week, but don't expect RU to change much of what they have been doing.  The running game will be key to keep pressure off the QB, but if opponents want to stack the box--  LOOK OUT!!  Rowan still has some of the most dangerous receivers healthy.  It's time for the O-line to come up big.  The "D" will have to set the tone early!!

GO PROFS!!!!!!!!!

ACMob

Pat, did you say the regional rankings come out this week or next week(7/8)?

Also, surprised RU's Heimerl did not receive any consideration for "special teams" player of the week!  Or did he not get nominated?

Pat Coleman

Can't remember the last time Rowan chose to nominate for something like that.

It's time for the Red Hawks to get ready for a big one this week against W. Conn. They can score some points. Our D has to come up big as usual, and the O has to learn to keep the pressure on. We're getting better every week and continue our success.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It truly is a shame that Rowan's SID department cannot take the time to nominate a football player who excels on the field of play and deserves the recognition, accolades, and national recognition that could result from this site. Rowan has been a top tier program for over 10 years, but yet, the SID department operates as if they don't exist outside of Glassboro, NJ. SHAME ON THEM!

rowanlb92

xgsc,
Unfortunately that issue will never change until  the miserable sid at rowan leaves her job for something up her alley, like a toll collector on the turnpike!!!

dpadavona

Why put Wright under center?  If you do you lose the top receiving threat on the team.  Regardless of stats, that is the kid you have to keep from breaking your gameplan single-handedly.

And as far as Rowan-Kean goes, it doesn't matter who starts at QB for Rowan.  Kean does not have the athletes to hang with Rowan on either side of the ball.  This will a nice scrimmage game for Rankin.  Rowan by 30+.
