Any thoughts on the Montclair / Buff St. and the Cortland / Rowan games?
My thoughts are that Montclair can't back off for a minute. They also need to get the ball in the damn end zone when they are in the Red Zone.  IMHO they need to take it up a step this game. And by that I don't mean winning by 30 or 40 points, they need to be consistent offensively and for God's sake, does the OC have a clue as to what a screen pass looks like ?
Time to mixup the play calling.

I could not have said it better. +K

Very surprised by the Montclair score last week.  Have seen Buffalo and they are a much improved team.   There have not been many posts about Morrisville being improved and no one said that Montclair played poorly.  With that in the back of my mind, I think Buff St. has a legitimate shot at winning this game.

Cortland / Rowan is a toss up.  My heart obviously likes Cortland in a romp but we are on the road, the weather is iffy and we lost Autera.  My head says toss up.   Go Dragons!

Clandfan...my thoughts exactly. I stopped by the football team practice yesterday and these BENGALS looked very focused and ready for thier first (if you could call it that) upset of the year! Having to go to Montclair 2 years in a row (because Montclair refused to come to Buff State this year since the Bengals announced that they were leaving the NJAC for the Emprie 8) only gave these kids and thier coaches a lil extra fuel.

I expect a very competitive group to step on the field at Montclair N.J. at 1 p.m. I hope my boys prove you right!!

I hope the don't. :) On a serious note, this will be a big game for us. You guys are much improved and from what I have observed through the internet only, we must play 110-60 and no turnovers to be successful. I think the weather will also play a big part. I have to go to a wedding tomorrow and will miss the game. We will all find out the answer around 4:00PM tomorrow.

OK, I'm convinced. After the Morrisville game we can't call Montclair overrated. Let's just say they're under achieving thus far and hope they rise to being overrated after they play TCNJ...

...I can hope, can't I?

wesleydad

awful quiet on here.  thought i would see more cortland - rowan chatter this week.  looking forward to the game, first time seeing both squads ever.  will be looking to see how cortland measures up to wesley since they both lost to kean, but both likely should have won.  hoping the rain holds off, the 1200 start may help.

Let's see how bright we are, we were the only ones that took TCNJ to cover and I hope the real Red Hawks show up today. ;D

When I got on this board in 2001, this board was crazy. The smack talking was out of sight. There was a Rowan contingency lead by JT and he is the only one left, you had a few nutty W.Conn guys and I mean nutty, then they all left and 7express is now hear, TCNJ with Phil still here and the tongue is still sharp :), Cortland was also out of their minds early on and now cland participates well along with a few others and then there was me. MUS Pride is a good guy and likes to mix it-up and catchball is informative. Basically the board is pretty quiet with the exceptions of a few events. The Cortland/Rowan game should be a good one. Cortland has a lot on the line. They can't afford (2) in conference loses and thats why I think they will win, but what do I know. My Red Hawks scare me. We need to get the "O" going and keep the pedal to the metal. Enjoy the game.

Go JCSC, oh wait a minute they are NJCU and don't play football.  Nevermind.

Still 30 minutes to go, so plenty of time for Kean to run up the score but at halftime Kean 20 Western Connecticut 13.  I was hoping to lose by less then 50.  Will this be the biggest upset throughout all NCAA divisions this year if Western can somehow win this game??  Not holding my breath on that happening, but after our first 2 games were over at halftime, nice to see us only down by 1 possession, against the #12 team in the country to boot.

Cortland defeats Rowan 31-28. Rowan returned a fumble for a TD early to take 14-3 lead on a pass behind the line which the defense jumped on.

Pitcher had a big game throwing for 315 yards on 20-for-29 passing, 2 TDs and no Ints. John Babin is looking like the stud receiver everyone thought he was when arrived last season. The sophomore snagged 8 receptions for 183 yards, while freshman Kordel McInnis had 51 yards on 5 catches.

Rowan held Miles and the Cortland running game in check, though Bronson Greene contributed 40 yards on only 7 carries. Louie Bianchini threw for 213 yards and 2 scores on 25-for-37 passing. Eddie Eisenhart had 9 catches for 87 yards and a TD.

Nice win for Cortland on the road against a tough opponent. Morrisville under the lights next Saturday night - should be a lot of fun!
