Regarding RPI, there is some scientific evidence behind this showing that teams fare EXTREMELY well after experiencing 5 head coaches in less than 18 months.  Most people on these boards have not been able to witness said evidence, but LD11 has in fact viewed it with his own eyes, and it is not a myth.  Lindy's is spot on with this one, and to be honest they may even be 'playing it safe'.

Hey, they do have all their tough games (Union, Hobart, Alfred) at home...

Dlip has U--Dub Dub at #4. What have they done lately to deserve higher...?ode to Lindy's!

Just reviewed the D3 Preseason Poll. I like having Montclair ranked (40). Flying under the radar will will do just fine. I am surprised on (2) counts. Kean ranked #14. They had a great year in 2011. They lost a fair amount of players and their QB was a senior. If he gets a 5th year I stand corrected, but if not way too high. Their 2011 record should have them around (25). Cortland ranked (35) is very generous. They took a huge hit in graduation along with Pitcher. It's all all about the season starting. Let the games begin. ;) I have Montclair taking the NJAC. Cathy will do a good job at QB. He should have started against Kean last year(I'm srill pissed) and Scopa will do good running the ball. "O" line replacement will be key. Time will tell. Any other commets on the NJAC?
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Personally, being able to play against and watch NJAC teams. I believe the team with the best defense will win the conference.

Catchball / Pride,

Any word on how the boys look this year? Will the "O" line be able to protect Drew and create holes for AJ? Should we look for the SOS from the "O" or will we start to mix it up and be less predictable? Do we have a scrimage, if so where, when and with who? Were there any transfers that can make an impact? How is Chad doing in Atlanta? Curious minds would like to know. ;)

MSU Pride

Hey guys, was anyone at the Montclair scrimage yesterday?? Chad was waived by Atlanta, Bobby Skinner signed with the Giants but then was waived as well.. Two RedHawks signed NFL contracts last year, not bad!!

Ex D3 Athlete

I need an update on the new rookie recruits in camp throughout the NJAC!  :D

Dlip concurrs pep. To any newcomers here, the kickoff write-up is simply fantastic in comparison to any other publication (online or other) that has to do with D3 football. These guys do an incredible job with research and fact finding. As a twenty five year hard core fan of Union college football and a six to seven year avid fan of D3 football in general, dlip can say he would not want to start the season without it!

Thanks for the lofty praise. Hope this year's edition lives up to it.

Hi Rams,
Just saw this today, been pretty busy.  Scrimmaged Lackawana, they beat us by a TD, we are a young team, going to have to work hard this year. Cathey looked sharp, we scored 2 TD's one on a pass ,the other a run. On paper we beat them, with everyone getting some time, hey thats what scrimmages are for,  see what you have to work with and go from there, even though you and I know it doesn't always work that way.  >:( Offensive line, as I always mention, needs to work real hard if we want to be a contender. We are down to 6 backs, I think 2 or 3 bailed out just before camp. Freshman QB that came in has good potential, in my opinion he may be the backup if he keeps up the hard work.
Can't say to much about the defense, Freshman LB, Tenpenny, looks like a strong kid and has some skills,he's getting a lot of special teams play and as long as he stays healthy(pulled groin this week) he should be a good addition.
That's all I have for now, I will be missing the opening day game due to a previous engagement, have a few frosty one's for me.

Catchball, To be honest I knew we would be young but not very young. I am still confident that we can win the NJAC if we give it 110-60. The kids must all come together. With an infant "O" line I'm happy we have a mobile QB. I'm ready for some Football and will raise up a cold one for you at the Train Station. I still can't get the Kean game out of my system and our wonderful offensive coordinater. >:( I hope to feel better after the last game of the year and we go to the dance. ;D

With MSU we will find out early how the season will be. Lebanon Valley and Salve Regina were picked pretty high in their preseason polls. Besides the o-line being a question mark, the WR position I think is even a bigger concern. On the Defense, the secondary looks to be very young. The front 7 should be fine. Special teams is going to be interesting in seeing how they replace both the kicker, punter and snapper.

Kean 8-2        Losses at Mary Hardin Baylor and Rowan
Cortland 9-1   Losses at Kean
Montclair 7-3   Losses at Salve Regina, Cortland and Kean
Rowan 7-3      Losses Del Val, Montclair and Cortland
TCNJ 6-4        Losses Cortland, Montclair and Kean (these are played 3 in a row, very tough) and Rowan
Brockport 5-5
Willy P 5-5
Morrisville 3-7
West Conn 0-9

Dark Horse is TCNJ. Out of the 4 losses I predict only MSU is on the road so they could surpirse and easily end up 9-1. I think Brockport could turn the league upside down if its defense plays as good as its offense.

So Kean gets the automatic with Cortland getting an at large bid. No #1 seed coming out of the NJAC this year.

Ready for some football?  Glad to be back.  Cortland scrimmaged Rochester yesterday.  Never know what to make of this as Rochester plays us with only 1 week of camp under their belts.  Cortland was dominant but you would expect them to be.  I don't know what Rochester gets out of scrimmaging that early.  They weren't good so I don't know how good Cortland is.  I did observe that the QB play was pretty solid.  Chris Rose will start but two pretty solid back-ups.  RBs....we are deep.  Autera, Miles, Green the top 3 with some good young backs under them.  Defensively, new kid at safety looked really good.  don't have names as the roster isn't out yet.  some young kids really flying to the ball.  Dline looks pretty solid.  I think the keys will be OL health as we aren't deep, QB play and secondary.  this could be a pretty good team but can't judge from this scrimmage.  Good luck all.

Have any Cortland fans seen the Dragons up close yet?  If so,... lets get a breakdown on them.
