JT,

The last 3 teams on Rowan's scheduel have hothing to play for, other then to drop the Prof's.

Let's say the Red Hawks get lucky and beat TCNJ, take a week off, prepare well and as you say drop the Prof's. What happens then? Your answer will probably be that Rowan gets a Pool C, and you are probably correct. Then you never know. ;)

Dave,

I forgot that Montclair only has one NJAC loss thus far, I thought they had two.  So they could potentially play for the NJAC title.  Just as well.

What would happen if, by some minor miracle, Rowan Montclair & Cortland all finish with one NJAC loss?

I'm not sure how the tie breaker works in the NJAC for football, and www.njac.net doesn't help.  I know an absolute winner is selected.

Pat,

I know there are a lot of if's, but what would happen if there were a tie for the NJAC. Rowan goes 8-1, Montclair goes 6-3 and Cortland goes 7-2 or 6-3(they lose in the Jug).

Every time I think of it, I come up with "I don't know." The only thing I'm sure of is that Rowan will get a Pool C if they go 8-1, and we know that they will at least do that.

What are your thoughts?

I know the NJAC baseball/softball tie breaker works like this:

1) Record head to head

2) Record against common opponents

3) Best record

JT, basketball works the same way with a couple of others thrown in, I think one is total points against common opponents.  My favorite is still the Steel Cage Death Match with the coaches wrestling for the AQ, dressed like Luchodores of course.  If it is more than two teams tied then it becomes a Steel Cage Battle Royal.  I still don't understand why the NCAA has not adopted this honorable and entertaining tiebreaking format.

My understanding is it goes like this:

1. Winner head-to-head (In this case all three would be tied)
2. Results versus the next ranked team (4th place, then 5th place, etc., unlikely to break the tie)
3. Opponent's, opponents' winning percentage in all of Division III
4. Opponent's, opponent's winning percentage in-region

Apparently there are more but I can't see it getting beyond that.

I kinda like Ira's idea more, but Pat's will work

Pick Em's listed for week #9 and spreads later in the week.

Hey Phil,

Any comments on the game this week in Ewing. What do your boys look like? No matter what the records are, the games are usually interesting.
