Rowdy Rowdy Bomber

i'd say rowan is sittin' pretty, even if they drop 2 games.

we all know cortland isnt interested in playoffs, so they wont have to worry. FDC will take care of the red-dragons..  you know... i think they really earned their name "red" because of how embarrassed the football team was of their own fans abadoning them.. esp after last years  debacle....  non-creative chant engineers, and poor-fan-turn-out school... i think there were more IC womens club field hockey fans at every game last year than cortland fans at cortaca...

cstate and the rest of the Puff belivers... lil jackie (Ithaca) Paper is gonna make you cry come Nov 12 in butterfield

I think this year they said they would have atleast 88 fans in the stands at the end of the game.  apparently they are lining the road of Smiddy with buses with 5 mintutes left in the game so Cstate kids can not go to through the campus and ruin things.

If you guys want to talk about Rowan as a lock it is probably as a Pool "C." Before every Rowan fan gets crazy, let's probably not talk about it till Saturday night. If the Mighty Red Hawks come out of TCNJ with a win(this is always a rilvery game) and by an act or God we beat Rowan on their own field , like we did 2 years ago, The Mighty Red Hawks may go to the dance. This is a statment from a fan.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Dave,

From having seen both teams play this year (albeit against Cortland), I think Montclair has the edge entering Saturday afternoon's game. You have a good running game with McCoach which helps complement the spread offense with Ferriol distributing the ball to Carter, Perryman, Reitmeyer, Varcadipane and the like. TCNJ's defense played Cortland pretty tough but if Montclair can effectively move the football and score, that will be their best weapon.

Unfortunately for Phil, the Lions have had a tough year. A very young team, lots of injuries and the always tough NJAC schedule finds TCNJ under .500. They had a tough time moving the ball against Cortland's defense and with the losses they'd had on offense, I think they'll have a hard time scoring against the Red Hawks. But if TCNJ's defense can slow down Montclair and create turnovers it'll stay close.

Why isn't the game being played under the lights this year? Better crowd at noon rather than 6pm or even 2pm?

phil

John,
TCNJ scheduled the football game to coincide with Homecoming events, Alumni Weekend, Sesquicentennial closing ceremonies, alumni class dinners and fireworks at 8:30 to close the weekend.

They're going to have a ton of families and alums on campus. The noon start gives them a chance to get a lot of folks on campus early for tailgating with the hope that they'll make an entire day of it. Even with the Lion's record, if the weather holds the TCNJ bleachers should be packed because of all the events being held on campus Saturday.

Dave,
The noon start does me in as I'm playing in a golf tournament at 9:30. Good luck to your boys, I hope it's a good one.

Phil,

Enjoy the golf, played in a scramble at Wild Turkey(I play twice a year, and that was my second time, end Sept) par 3 over water 180 yards, 5 feet from the cup on the closest to the hole and some guy hits it 18" from the cup. Sucks to be #2. I'd like to give Rowan a run fior their money. I'll let you know how it was when I get back. Hope it's a nice ride back to Oakland. :)

John,

Don't forger the Red Hawks are also young. On the "O" we need to fond a QB next year, and lose a lot on "D." I think we will be OK. Coach G is a good one,and we cleaned house last year and it was for the best. A definite +.

Thanks for the coast to coast support of D3 All American Quarterback Brett Elliot.  The candidate has received over 1,000 votes since being nominated.  The vote total puts Elliot in 7th place out of 41 candidates.  Thanks to all who have cast their ballot in support of a D3 candidate.  If you have not yet voted you may cast your ballot at www.voteforheisman.com
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Too bad you can't make it down to Ewing Phil. I'll be there to cheer the Lions on, we can still have a respectable season. Would enjoy meeting up with anyone from the Boards at the game Saturday.

What's your take on the Brockport Rowan game this week?
