Just got back from the game.  Congrads to Salisbury for the spirited win today.  You guys were the better team out there.  Wesley's defense wasn't.  Ultimately, though, it came down to the fact that Wesley's offense was the last to blink.  Two dropped (catchable) passes on the last drive with less than two minutes left sealed the deal.  Now all Wesley can hope for is a Salisbury loss to Frostburg next week (unlikely).  And if that doesn't pan out, hope that we get a pool C bid.......   Yep, that was not the game to lose.   :-[

Wesley definitely has a Pool C........I would bet my ex-wife's life on it  ???

Div3Fan

If Wesley doesn't get a Pool C I will be amazed.

Kean defeated Rowan, so Rowan will not be surfacing in the rankings. This does not help Wesley, in theory. I can see some danger for Wesley, especially given the strength of pool C this year.

pg04

My last post is now void because Del Val lost and Albright will get a Pool A instead of Pool C. Wesley will certainly get a Pool C

dont see this game being close.  Wesley will score 40+ maybe 50+.  The gulls will move the ball but do not have the horses to outscore Wesley.  20+ point win and on to Willy P.  Looking for Rowan to win so they get ranked.  expect St Lawrence to beat Hobart and Alright to beat Stevenson.  The next 2 weeks will be interesting around the nation to see who moves up or down.

Since the video feed crapped out yet again (somebody needs to send the A.D. a few bucks to bring that broadcast into the 21st Century) you have to explain in detail......what the hell happened today!!!!!

What happened was one team got all they could out of their game and one team left plenty on the field.  Wesley beat themselves today.  A holding penalty cancels a TD.  A missed field goal.  A Callahan fumble after a nice run at the 10.  A dropped pass inside the 10 on the last drive.  Too many mistakes when your defense can not stop the other team enough to overcome the mistakes.  The O line is not good enough and Callahan has to make too many plays on his own.  He is that good.  The linebackers are not good enough and were exposed on both runs and passes today.  That is not different than many of the other games this year.  In the end you have to make plays and Wesley did not and Salisbury did make enough to win.

CNU85

Wow!!  I think CNU ticked off Salisbury!!!  This conference is crazy!  Also,  I just have to say this...the NJAC officials are really horrible. They make USA South refs look like NFL caliber. The ref had to tell the side judge where to line up after one play. And CNU had to call a timeout to tell the refs the rules on spotting the ball on a penalty. Refs didn't change it, but they were wrong. Didn't matter, CNU picked the next pass. This wasn't the first game I was scratching my head about the officials.

Congrats to Salisbury (Ski......it's congraTs, not congraDs). 😜

QuoteGood to see Wesley at the top of the regional rankings.

Life is so temporal.

I'm hoping SU v Wesley remains a late season NJAC showdown. The feed cut out, and I was able to go back and watch the full game: it was really, really good.

I'll take your word, but from what I saw, SU kicked your boys in the teeth, and they didn't respond...
No emotion in the 2nd half....
They looked beat...and one dimensional.

One dimensional? Not sure what you mean by that.

Salisbury just made more plays than Wesley today. wesleydad hit on a few of the big ones. The Salisbury QB Jones played his heart out and was able to find receivers when he needed to, which I think was the reason for Salisbury's successes on offense.

Look at the box score.  Wesley led or was tied the entire second half until the late field goal.  Not sure about no emotion.  Salisbury did all they could do and won by 3.  They had the ball 12 mins more than Wesley did.  They were outgained by close to 150 yards.  Wesley lost the game on the scoreboard which is all that matters.  If they play again I would gladly take Wesley based on what I saw today.

Teamski

It was Wesley's game to lose.  As Wesleydad mentioned, the two fumbles deep in Seagull territory on highly successful offensive series in the first half really hurt Wesley.  As the defense was absent, the Wesley offense was still able to match score for score and lead in the third quarter.  What killed the Wesley offense in the 4th was no less than 3 holding calls in like 5 plays.  That really put the cabosh on things.   Wesley put over 600 yards on field today, but Salisbury won it on ball control by dominating the clock.  Add a whiff of Wesley errors and whala, you have  an upset.  No different than regular season losses in the past against Montclair St, Rowan, Kean and now Salisbury.  Did Salisbury play harder?  I dunno, but you damn well knew that they were playing for their playoff lives today.  A lost Wesley secondary didn't help our cause......

Ahhh the chaos continues in the East and now the NJAC. I am at lost for words, Salisbury played one hell of a game, kudos to them. I didn't think they could pass the way they did and they missed a couple that should have been. In the beginning of the game, I thought they would have went up by a couple of scores if they could have stop Wesley on 3rd and longs. I think that if these teams played again, it may go either way, neither team played defense well. Did Wesley shoot themselves in the foot? Yes, but Salisbury made the better plays when it mattered the most. I am not sure how this would effect playoffs, however I don't see neither team surviving against a team with an adequate defense with a good front. Do they make it out of the East, Wesley I think so, Salisbury no so much, because I just don't trust their 3rd down defense and secondary.

Wesley's SOS is 49th in the nation after yesterday, but I'm sure it will take a hit vs. WP.
