Wow, njac took it on the chin yesterday but didn't expect the board to clam right up.   Is everyone licking their wounds our what?
Njac gets back in full swing next week with some great conference matchups, most notably Rowan traveling to Cortland.  I am sure Cortland will learn from their first game.  They shot themselves in the foot numerous times with a couple of turnovers, dropped balls and penalties.
FYI, some of you NJ folks may remember that our QB Pitcher started the Governors Bowl for NY in 2005 with Ray Rice in our backfield and NJ featuring the likes of Malcomb Jenkins.

First game flunders for a few of the njac teams.  WoW.  Not even the NJAC but the East region in general. Hobart and IC losing was a shocker.

We need those high caliber programs to step up this year and Keep Mount out of the East bracket.

I'm sure everything will be back to normal and all teams will step up once all NJAC play begins.  It's a great conference and, really, anybody can win games.  Cortland started a little slow vs Morrisville, but Morrisville is a different team then the past few years.  People cannot expect them to always be bad.  They have a good coach, and they were very stong when they were JUCO.  It's only a matter of time for them to get rollin and start having some players go through there entire program.  Just my thought.

Great job C-State! let's get Rowan!

I agree but if you break saturday down, Cortland dominated and hurt themselves.  I think those are early season mistakes.  Cortland should have had at least two more scores and Morrisville, perhaps one less.  The dropped balls, the penalties, turnovers should work themselves out.  Cortland's biggest problems are in the run game and kicking (fg / xp) game.  I think we will see some improvement this week.  Beat Rowan!

Very much agreed.  Kicking game was weak.  Losing Jeff Lang was probably one of the biggest hits on the team.  He put the ball in the end zone almost every time.  Cortland had trouble getting it to the 10 yd line.  However, theyre coverage team looks as nasty as always. Cortland which is usually known for its great special teams needs to step it up, with just the kicking pretty much.  Kyle Peterson was terrific with punting though.  I beleive if he stays consistant he could have some nice honors coming his way.

oh yea and the xp/field goals you mentioned.  Yea they need work.  Run game will come, they have young line and some talented young RB's in russel and loeb

Congratulations to Dan Pitcher and Evan Wyler of Cortland for being named NJAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week respectively.

Got back from my weekend in PA late yesterday and was too angry to post.

First of all, congratulations to Wilkes. They monkey stomped us. They are a well coached and disciplined team.

I couldn't believe what I saw from Montclair. All I harped on all summer was that Fisher needed to step up and the offensive play calling must not be so predictable.
No improvement from Fisher (SOS) and even I knew what plays were coming. Is there a rule that Fisher can't cross the line of scrimage. ::) We need mobility at the QB position and Boysen proved it again. He was also throwing ropes. Boysen needs to start, but I'm sure that will never happen. He was great at Cortland last year and then he sat on the bench. I saw Fisher gimp a little when Boysen came in, so maybe we will see this week. We need Boysen !!!!!!!!!

What is up with how they use Bliss. He is one talented running back, but leave him in as a single back and you will stop him. This is not rocket science. I think he ran wide twice and he got 5-8 yard each time. Keep using Bliss like that and he will continue to get 48 yards rushing. Please use his talents correctly.

2 picks and 3 fumbles does not = winning the game.

For some reason we always give up the deep pass and this year is no different.

If we keep this up a 5-5 record will be a miracle. :(
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

do you suppose coaches are seeing something in practice that others may not see that accounts for Fisher playing over Boysen?  Or is it really a coaching issue?  I'm just asking as I would have no clue.  I just want to see njac get better as a whole and last weekend set us way back.

Man-o-man-o-man
You have to remeber one thing, O'Connor needs to really take a look at whats going on. I never ever get on any coach because, I'm far from being one,BUT, his play calling is horrendous. I saw it last year when he blew the game we should have won at Cortland. If the Wilkes game is a prelude to whats going to happen the rest of the season , we are screwed.
Fischer has no heart, gets flustered very easily and it is time for a change at the QB position, I know I'm not the only who see's or thinks the same way. Too pissed off to continue my rant....:(

Rams  I'll be at the game Saturday, meet you in the lot for a cold one.

Congratulations again to Dan Pitcher and Evan Wyler of Cortland, now named ECAC Southeast region Offensive and Co-Defensive Player of the Week respectively.  Well Done.

eastballfan

Didnt know they got the ECAC as well.  Cortland gettin the notice early again.  Very nice

Lets take that to Rowan this weekend!

clandfan

Sorry Folks but I gotta say this board is as dead as it is during the summer.
We are only one or two weeks in and there is no excitement.  Yes, a couple of bad OOC results but we have the whole NJAC in front of us.  How about Rowan at Cortland this Saturday...any thoughts?
Any Rowan folks or anyone else want to talk about the matchup? There still is an automatic bid up for grabs.  Can Montclair shake off the loss?  Can Bport make a run?  How about TCNJ or Kean?  WAKE UP...ANYBODY...PLEASE!!!!!!

Licking my wounds in Anniston, Alabama on a business trip. I will miss the Morrisville game this weekend because of a committed college alumni event.

We need to beat Morrisville by 10 or more points and shake off the Wilkes loss. If Fisher is the QB we are in deep s$%t. This IMHO is politics at this point, cause I think Fisher will start. I saw Fisher gimp a little when he was taken out. Maybe Boysen will start cause Fisher has no you know whats, then the following week you will see Fisher back in. Just a big tease. I'm getting fed up. >:(

I feel bad for the kids and this is breaking my heart. We need to get our s$%t together. Time will tell.  hope the coaching staff proves me wrong. Montclair has a lot more talent then last weeks score shows.

Wake-up all you Montclair fans and say what is on your minds. ::)

Well if you ever needed a wake-up call week one is the week for it.  Hopefully they make the needed adjustments.  You always hear that the biggest gains are made between week 1 and 2.   Was Boysen the one who played Cortland last year.  If I recall your QB was not bad.  Certainly didn't look like the QB you describe as Fisher.

You are correct. Boysen was the QB up in Cortland last year and we almost pulled it out.
