Congratulations to Fisher as the Offensive Player Of The Week. I have beat him up and still not convinced, but give credit when it is due. Scoring with (55) seconds left says al lot. Could this be the start of me eating my words? ;)

It's nice to read all the talk about TCNJ, Cortland, Rowan and Kean. This gives Montclair a chance to fly under the radar.  We have Willy P, Cortland, Buff St and TCNJ. If we car run the table then we may have a chance.  Montclair has a lot of work to do and one week at a time, you never know.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Red Hawk Naion :

Time to end my silence. I was not excited about the Morrisville win. We should have won the game. This is no disrespect to Morrisville. As I figured, Fisher got the start and from a stat end looked good. I'm sure he had all day to sit in the pocket and throw. Put a little pressure on him and he falls apart. I'm sorry to say, but he is not a leader and it is only my opinion that he does not have the respect of his team. I guess Coach G. feels that he is the best we have and please O'conner get creatative. That being said, I still support the Red Hawks as I always have. It's just hard to hope for a shot at the playoffs when you probably will fall short at best. What would Sam Mills say about the happenings this year? I hope I have to eat these words after the Kean game.

Can't make the game today, my daughters Birthday.

B-Port is a tough well coached team. Special Olympics field is not an easy place to play. Pressure will be put on Fisher and let's see how he performes. This could be the place to turn everything around. I'd like to see it happen. Like I always say 110 - 60 and "Keep Pounding".

Let's  Go  Mighty  Red  Hawks  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know the final score of the MSU-Brockport game ???

MSU barely escaped Brockport, winning a shootout 41-39.

That's all I know, can't find stats anywhere yet, but that final score is not encouraging. A win is a win, but it you shouldn't need 40+ points to win a game.

Also around the NJAC:
Kean upsets Cortland State 24-10.
TCNJ crushed Morrisville State 67-34.
Buffalo State knocked off Western Connecticut 37-26.
Rowan defeated Willie P 28-13.

Thanks Penguin at least its a win, how did they look ?

I watched live stats from the B-Port site. We had a (2) point lead and they came down and scored a TD with (55) seconds left. We got the ball and scored. Fisher did the job under pressure. A win is a win is a win. I'm guessing we gave up a lot do deep balls. Time to get better and come up with a big win over Willy P. Time will tell what the future brings. Was anybody there who could comment?

I did end up going to the game in Brockport.  It was a very exciting game.  Both teams at the end of the game seemed to have no trouble scoring on the other.  It really was the last team with the ball won.

Unfortunately, there were 3 things that doomed brockport (and of course I will probably be scorned for mentioning the kicker again):

1)  Brockport missed the extra point on their first touchdown.  This in turn lead to Brockport needing to go for two at a point in the third quarter (which was not converted) --  If both teams kickers would have functioned as normal, the game should have been 42-42 going into overtime.
2)  When Brockport took the lead 39-35 with 55 seconds left, they kicked a horrible squib kick (Trust me the fans did not like this decision) that only made it to the 50 yard line, thus giving MSU a short field.
3)  The defense just could not stop Fisher throwing it in the center of the field.   It looked like MSU was running cross overs and slants all day long.  That said, Fisher is a really good quarterback.

All and All, MSU has to worry about their defense if they want to be able to win the NJAC.  Brockport has the same problem, but I do believe they have the ability to beat Cortland and Rowan if things go their way...

The NJAC is fasinating to dlip and maybe, at least up until this point of the season, the NJAC was not recieving the attention, as a whole, as the rest of the east. Or maybe it was just dlip who was not paying enough attention? dlip always felt The Red Dragons were overrated and it proved right with the loss to Kean. dlip initially felt Montclair was his clear favorite, that went out the window with their loss, and then he felt Rowan was just floating and waiting to resurect themselves and then poof, they lost to Cortland at home. WTF??? Now dlip is looking hard at TCNJ, impressed by their O and still questioning their D. He still feels Rowan may make some noise, he won't completely count out Cortland, and he ranked TCNJ at #5 in his ERP. Overall dlip had 3 NJAC teams in his top ten this week and is becoming very curious about who is going to take the NJAC here in 09. Obviously to early to tell but the NJAC is on dlips mind.

Absolutely correct YC but looking at the points they are scoring dlip feels this team has potential and may be decent. Decent enough to validate an O.K. ERP ranking at this juncture because of the conference they play in, points they have scored, and talent that the team has. dlip would not at all be surprised if Kean takes them out. Also dlip made it clear he is very suspect of the TCNJ D. Many teams that haven't played solid comp are getting votes and attention, ex. RPI. dlip felt it was time to give an undefeated NJAC school that is having early season success some love. It is going to be a long season dlips light for TCNJ could easily vanish or turn out to be warrented. We shall see. It definitely is possible though that dlip is giving them too much credit this week.

Young Cougar,
Please advise us where the Kean athletic department plans to put the guaranteed NJAC championship trophy so we can make plans for the public viewing. The other one they won is probably lonely by now.

The way things are going we could be on our way to a multi-way tie for the championship.
