He played last week and appeared to be running OK.  In the first half last week Rowan was kinda conservative. I think Frank told the coaches at half time that he felt pretty good and the game opened up.  Frank ran more in the second half.  I don't think he's 100% but if he's healed up a little more this week, he should be even better then last week.

The rumors are now official news.  Alex Smith will return to quarterback Cortland as soon as next Saturday at Montclair.

Hey Dan,

How have you been? Can't say I'm thrilled to see Alex Smith back, but I would rather play a strong Cortland team, then an injury plauged team. We should get together at the Train Station for a burger and brew. My treat before the game starts at Sam Mills Field.

Wow....Alex Smith coming back is huge for CState.  Will be interesting to see how Hudson Woodward responds to this news now that he has to play tomorrow with Alex suiting up next week.  He can either go into a tailspin and have a terrible week or step up and fight for the starting spot.  My bet is he will step up and fight....he obviously has the skills to be a productive QB or he wouldn't have been tapped to lead the offense.  Needs experience.   Looking forward to him playing a great game tomorrow up in Buffalo....not looking forward to the drive there and back but wouldn't miss it for the world.  Go CState!

Glad to hear he is O.K. and able to play. Obvioulsy for other teams that could mean trouble but overlooking football it is great for the kid to have an opportunity to play. dlip wishes him luck and an injury free reaminder of the season.

Surprising news.

I'd figured Alex was gone for good once he was injured in the first game of 2007. That being said, now that he's back, how long is it going to take to get him into game shape? As a coach and former player, he should know the offense so that shouldn't be an issue.

If I'm the kid that played and started last week against Kean I can't be too happy about this but throwing three picks and managing just 10 points in a key conference game sealed his fate - especially with Smith and the coaches setting this whole plan in motion.

All in all, good for Alex. He's a great kid and never really got a chance to play his senior season (or close out his junior year for that matter)

Kean 21   TCNJ 7

4:34 left in the 3rd. Kean dominates the run, TCNJ dominates the pass and TOP. Chun is killing TCNJ.

Big night for Jared Chunn who ran for over 200 yards and two scores.  Cougars improve to 3-0 in the NJAC.

To dlip this means that for some of us who gave the Lions some ERFP love last week now we must take Kean in on our radar. Impressive win for Kean. We just keep adding ponnies to the race here in the east!

...can't fumble the ball at the 1 yard line and throw two picks and expect a different outcome. For once the TCNJ defense made a credible showing, but Kean's defensive line took away the Lion ground game completely. Good job by the Cougars.
