QuotePlayers, coaches defend TCNJ quarterback following loss to WILLIAM PATERSON

Eli Manning played a game today where he was made to feel that he had to score on every possession.
James and TCNJ's offense is forced to play like that every week. Now whose fault is that?

Now if the players and coaches were defending TCNJ's defense you'd have a real story.

Phil, You should chill out and get over what ever your issue is with TCNJ's defense. Everyone is aware of what needs to be improved on. We certainly do not need little snide comments about it. We all can see that you have a big ax to grind and just can't let it go.

Didn't make the Montclair game, but by looking at the stats the SOS. A win against Buff St. Fisher threw (4) picks. What else is new. >:( What's going to happen when we play a decent or good team?  ??? We will see what they have against TCNJ then excluding W. Conn then we have  Rowan and Kean. Throw (4) picks in each game and we are 0-2 vs Rowan and Kean. I saw a promising stat, Boysen got in. Does anybody know why?
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Gee, I didn't see it as snide at all. Considering I've witnessed about 200+ TCNJ/Trenton State games over the years – I would just file my comment under the heading of "Just Stating the Obvious".

An ax to grind? Me? I froze in a monsoon at Ramapo when they clinched their first trip to the NCAA's with an unlikely victory. I froze again at Ithaca in the snow when they upset the Bombers for their first NCAA victory... and I was also there when coach Ham celebrated his first NJAC championship in 1980. I've donated enough money which was earmarked specifically for athletics to feel like I've earned the right to point out, that statistically, this will be the worst year defensively in TCNJ football history. Now, is that grinding an ax or stating fact? I believe it's my prerogative to make a comment within this forum. Especially when I root each week for the team you claim I'm grinding that ax against.

Now, since you're using the word "WE", and point out that "EVERYONE" knows what needs to be done – go do it and stop wasting your time seeing what I have to say. If you or anyone else associated with the team cares at all what I have to say – then there is a real problem.

I haven't heard anything about Fishcer getting hurt, and his last action was after the fourth interception so my guess is that he was benched after the fourth pick.

I'm sure we will see Fishcer back under center at TCNJ, perhaps Saturday was simply getting a message across to him.

The numbers tell the story imo, completion percentage of 50.6%, 7 TDs vs. 13 INTS, second most INTS in NJAC behind Jake Garci of brockport (who has thrown 50 more passes), and third worst passing efficiency for starting QBs begins James Williams of West. Conn. and Woodward of Cortland.

Nuff' said.

The experienced fan usually makes the best critic, and knows exactly what's wrong with his team. Those close to the day-to-day should respect that.

...I might have to start rooting for Montclair. You can complain about their QB and not have to read that there's a collective "WE" out there caring about what you say!

Knightstalker

Start rooting for NJCU football, at least they haven't lost in several years.    ;D

Boysen got in because Fischer got hurt (lol, I think it was just his pride) At least thats what I was told by someone in the know, and yes Fischer will be starting this week against TCNJ, go figure. >:(

Phil,
My apologize for my frustrated comments of last week-end. We just took took that lose and I was just frustrated and yours was the first post i read. The program needs fans like you and if we did not have them it would have made me playing the last4 years very difficult . As you can see i am very rarely on the message board and maybe I should think before I act. Sorry again and I hope you continue to support the football program even after my stupid comments.

No offense taken. It's difficult to accept a loss to WPU when historically they have not been competitive with TCNJ. It's also been frustrating on my end as I called out a TCNJ poster earlier in the year who warned of some problems within the program which will affect the defense. I gave it to him with both barrels – but in hindsight, he was correct. I can also understand your frustration. In most every year I've seen TCNJ/TSC, the defense was always tough and the philosophy on offense was to grind the clock down to shorten the game. Now that the offense can beat you any number of ways, the defense is... well I don't have to finish that statement. It's a far cry from 2007.

Let's hope for better days ahead, and any internal struggles to be solved. I'm hoping you can go pull one out against Montclair, Cortland or Rowan. best of luck!
