The new top 25 poll is out on this website and for some unknown reason, Rowan is still unranked.  The Profs lost a tough conference game at Cortland in week 2, and have been unbeaten since, steamrolling opponents in October by an average score of 63-10.  With Kean and Montclair up next, I would hope that victories in those games would get them their due respect in the polls, thus strengthening the East Region for pool C opportunities from the NJAC.

catchball, Fast Freddie, and msupenguin,

Need some insight into this Montclair Bull S#%t. What the heck is going on. The Red Hawks are coached like a tenyeared professor. They know they have jobs for life and do what ever they want. Do they want to be champions or want to be's. I get the impression that Giancola and O'Conner just do not have a clue. I'm sorry bur Fisher is not the guy and not a team player. He appears to be all about himself. How in in the would do you expect to beat Rowan and Kean the way things are going. This all appears to be like politics, "I know what you need and do as I say". Please wake up and smell the roses. There is no guarantee we can beat W.Conn. There is still time, don't let it slip away. >:(

As a reminder, here's Rowan's actual Top 25 resume:

No. 43 Rowan (6-1):
Sep 12   AWAY   Lycoming (3-4)   W   7-29
Sep 19   AWAY   7 Cortland State (5-2)   L   24-14
Sep 26   AWAY   William Paterson (3-4)   W   13-28
Oct 03   HOME   Brockport State (2-5)   W   56-20
Oct 10   AWAY   Western Connecticut (1-6)   W   14-72
Oct 17   AWAY   Morrisville State (1-7)   W   0-67
Oct 24   HOME   Buffalo State (1-6)   W   57-7
Oct 31   AWAY   Kean (6-1)      -
Nov 07   HOME   Montclair State (6-1)      -

Six wins against sub-.500 teams and one loss to the only team with a winning record it's played so far. Granted, they have been crushing those teams, but beating Morrisville, Western Conn and Buffalo State isn't exactly unique this year.

The remaining three games will tell a lot more and I suspect that since several voters have Kean higher on their ballots today, a win against Kean will turn some heads.

The voting by the D3 Top 25 (Others Receiving Votes) is out of wack. Week #6 Montclair gets (9) votes. This week, Kean gets (17) which makes sense 6-0 in the NJAC, then Rowan gets (10) votes which makes sense with a loss to Cortland, then Cortland gets 8 votes 5-2 in the NJAC and Montclair has not gotten a vote since Week #6. How crazy is that. In conclusion, Montclair does not deserve a vote due to it's steller coaching, but Cortland getting 8 votes makes no sense. ::)

I haven't seen your national Top 25 ballot. It's not as easy as it looks.

If Montclair doesn't deserve a vote, then why bash the system?

Pat Coleman

Right. Cortland doesn't deserve votes because it lost to Montclair. But Rowan deserves votes despite losing to Cortland?

I'm not bashing the system. All I said was, how does Cortland get 8 votes. I know Montclair is the worst 6-1 team in the country and how we went from 9 votes to zero is the question. This is not about Montclair.

I don't understand why you think Rowan is deserving of votes but the only team which beat Rowan isn't.

How can you compare Rowan to Cortland. I can't believe I even said it. :o

The circumstances revolving around Cortland have changed dramatically since that game.  Nevertheless, I'm doubting most of the voters really know that.

The more troubling thing is that Pat does know and yet he still carries on like he has been...

Pat Coleman

With just eight votes, Cortland isn't even on "most of the voters" ballots.

I was trying to see if 1102 would explain himself. Oh well. I certainly more than explained why people are not falling all over Rowan like the denizens of a few message boards are.

Rowan may just prove to be the real deal in 09. We will know more about this team and conference in the next few weeks. dlip thinks it is good that people are questioning the top 25 poll. Sometimes they may question more with their heart than their heads (dlip has done this a few times himself ;)) but all in all it makes for great D3 football discussion. dlip must say he feels the poll has been a bit "suspect" this season but ****, he realizes that coming up with a poll must be quite challenging, especially when you have to find out key specific info about so many teams spread out across such a far reaching radius in this day when D3 football press is at a minimum......ah **** it! dlip likes when people question the polls with passion!
