Pardon my ignorance rams but what do you mean by 110-60?

110% for 60 minutes...

Or he's just predicting a 170pt combined score...

You 're correct on the former. It's been one of Montclair's problems in the past. We took care of business today. Next week will be a big test for us against Kean.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Montclair - 42      Morrisville - 6

Congrats boys, you did what you had to do and time to get ready for Kean. Time to make a statement.

I have not been a fan of Tom Fisher as everyone knows. I know there is potential there like at MU last year. 110-60 and he may surprise everyone. Congratulations on a game well played. I noticed a (12) yard run, awsome. ;) You distributed the ball very well from what the stat's indicated. Again, nice job !!!!!!!!!!!!

This could be a very interesting year for the Red Hawks.

Congrats to Red Dragons.  Looked to be firing on all cylinders against a much weaker opponent.  West Conn has a long way to go.  I hope they can become competetive.  The bottom of the NJAC is quite weak.

Gotta tip my hat to the Red Dragon OL.  I didn't anticipate Cortland rushing the ball like they are.  Granted, two of our opponents were West Conn and Buff St. but they have opened up some giant holes.  We are rushing at almost 6 yds / carry over the first 3 games and our starting tailback has been out for a game and a half.   QB play has been very efficient.  Pitcher doesn't seem inclined to take off with the ball like he did last year until he got hurt.  Not sure if that is a result of last year's injury, confidence or scheme.  Certainly with the backs that he has...they don't need him to run the ball.  Wideouts are coming along and will only get better with the respect that teams will have to pay to the run.

The defense...well they have given up a total of 22 net yds rushing combined over the last two games.  Secondary has been good but could be a little more aggressive.  All in all, we still have room for improvement but lots of nice things happening at Cortland.  Keep it up.

Around the league...Montclair looks like they are on a roll.  Will be interested to see their game with Kean.  Little surprised to see Buff St. almost knock Kean off until I saw that Kean was without D'Ambrisi.  He means a lot to that team. Anybody know about his injury and when he'll return?

Interesting to see that IC lost.  I really hate it when that happens!

Where is the D3 love for Cortland?  I am not begrudging Montclair's standing; I just don't understand Cortland's measly 17 votes.  Cortland and Montclair are in a virtual dead heat statistically and have each played two very weak opponents.  Montclair has beaten Rowan and Cortland has beaten Kean who is probably as good as Rowan this year.  Cortland sits atop the NJAC standings with 3 league wins(2 on the road) to Montclair's 2 and the NJAC coaches picked Cortland to win the league.

I can only assume that Montclair's respectable playoff performance last year has influenced the pollsters this year. It certainly can't be on the "strength" of Montclair's OOC win vs Westfield.   Let's not forget Cortland went to NCAA quarterfinals the year before that.

Anyway, Congrats to Montclair...they should be ranked but so should Cortland and 17 points just shows me that the pollsters don't have a clue about Montclair, Cortland or the NJAC.

There, I feel better

theoriginalupstate

Cortland started with 1 vote in the week 1 poll, Montclair started with 80 and was ranked 23rd...

Gotta keep on winning and it all takes care of itself...

I'm glad you are feeling better. I also felt better after I complimented Fisher. On a serious note, I also feel that Cortland should be in the Top 25, but Montclairs going (2) deep in the playoffs and Cortlands ECAC performance last year did not get them much love in the Poll. To be honest in the East fan poll I have Cortland (3) and Montclair (4). I am voter #3. I hope D'Ambrisi is OK and I hope he is healthy enough to play this week. This will be a test for us. Cortland is a good team and will soon be ranked. Good luck to all.

Upstate said it best.  Cortland keeps on winning and they will move up.
Made it to the West Conn game last week.  Had to comment on West Conn's facility as this was my first trip there.  It's outstanding. It was a bright, hot, sunny day but with the stands covered for the most part, sitting in the shade was a pleasure!

Thanks.  Not to jinx either team but if Montclair and Cortland keep rolling, could make Oct 30th a huge game which would be outstanding.  Have not seen Montclair play but from what I've read, seems like it would be a real battle.  Good luck tomorrow. Gotta love this time of year!

We have a huge game at Kean tonight. There is no love lost between the both of us. It's time for the Red Hawks to step it up tonight. You are correct, you have to love this time of year.

I noticed that Pat picked Montclair as a Top 25 team that may get upset tonight. To be honest, he has a valid point, because in the past Montclair tends to blow-up in a big spot and many times produces in a big spot, but they have not been consistant. I feel that we will win tonight and I will be disappointed if we just pull it out. This is by no means any disrespect to Kean, but something tells me that this team can be something special this year. We will find out later tonight.

This weekend on ITH (this Sunday @ 7:30 PM ET) we will interview a key player in the weekend's slate of games, as well as welcome Springfield College Head Coach Mike DeLong live at 8:10 PM ET.  We'll be discussing SC's reasoning behind leaving the E8, his views on the "weakness" of the East and the possibility of another year with MUC in the "eastern playoff bracket" (Coach DeLong is on the championship selection committee), among other topics.

Log on to www.inthehuddLLe.com this Sunday!
