Fair enough. They're both good plays -- I guess we looked at the other one more closely because it was to get into the end zone. We did have a similar hurdle in last week's POTW, though.

Oh they're both great plays, no doubt.  I thought his hurdle was almost effortless and showed more athleticism, the dive in the endzone showed his determination...

Athleticism, determination, speed and humility.  He will give all the credit to his offensive line who have been almost flawless through the first four games.  Cortland is obviously excited about this kid who is only a sophomore.

And let's not forget about about Dom Sair who has been out with a high ankle sprain.  He will be back before long.  He is the power back to go along with Autera and there is another young back behind autera by the name of Myles.  Throw in a good QB, an outstanding Defense and you can understand why Cortland is moving up.

We are getting into the thick of the conference season and apparently not much to talk about in the NJAC.
Looking forward to a good crowd at Cortland on Sat.  due to parents weekend and Brockport coming to town.  They tend to travel pretty well when they don't have to go to NJ.  On paper, Cortland should win hands down but we don't play the game on paper.  I don't think we will see that RB run for 310 this weekend though.  That's a great game regardless of who you play.  I'm more concerned about containing the QB.  Will be interesting to see if Cortland can maintain the level of play we have seen for the last 4 weeks.  Go Dragons!

Seeing that there is little chatter on the NJAC board let me throw out a topic to consider...

The NJAC is dying.  D3football.com has downgraded the conference strength and our OOC record against quality opponents stinks.  The conference is shaping up to be a two horse race and it is quite possible that we will have a team that is 10-0 and one that is 9-1 and only one will go to the playoffs due to the weakness of the bottom half of the league.  Agree or disagree.

clandfan

Please remind me....who is leaving the NJAC?  Morrisville and Buff St?  That would leave 8 and still an auto bid conference correct?

Do you think NJAC would keep it at 8 allowing for more OOC games or would we try to add quality football only members?

clandfan

HELLOOOOOOO IS ANYBODY OUT THERE ???

Buff St is definitely going to the E8 - I think Frostburg is too, not sure about Mo State....

The NJAC would definitely hang on to their Pool A with 8 teams....

If we have a 10-0 and a 9-1 or two 9-1's, both should go.  The main problem is when the uber conferences like the WIAC or the OAC have two good teams each.

Rowan's OOC is doing well.

Disagree -

NEFC has more parity so the chances of two teams getting in from there is down.

That said, SUNY M going 10-0 is possible so they will likely take one East Pool C if that's the case.

The LL is one and done.  If Union beats Hobart tmw, they'll be in the drivers seat, but RPI could still make things interesting.

I think the same deal (i.e., one and done) with the MAC - Del Val probably goes 9-1 and Lyco with 2 losses (assuming they lose the H2H with DVC) wouldn't get a Pool C.

E8 probably has a shot at two if SJFC goes 10-0 and the runner up (say Alfred) is 9-1.  Pretty much the same deal with NJAC - guessing the entrants are MSU and CSU, but Rowan could be a spoiler (the Profs are in if they win out).  If SJFC loses to IC, it gets a lot more interesting....

That said, here's my "playoff projection" (way to early in the season to be right, but fun to guess nonetheless):

2 NJAC (MSU and CSU/RU)
2 E8 (SJFC and ALF)
1 LL (Union/Hob/RPI)
1 NEFC (Endicott)
1 ECFC (SUNY M)
1 MAC (DVC)

PBR...

probably pretty close tgp...as the season unfolds you may have to move a slot or two around but your probably pretty close w/ that educated hypothesis...

If SUNY-Maritime goes 10-0 they would take a Pool B bid.

And I'd be surprised if they go 10-0 since Norwich looks like a much stronger side.  They've both score the same number of points, but Norwich has held their oppents to a TD less per game than Maritime.  Regardless, a 10-0 or 9-1 ECFC team is going to be on the short list of Pool B choices, but my money is still on Norwich to be that team.

Thx - forgot about Pool B and what qualifies for that area....

I agree Norwich looks stronger than in year's past - that said, the loss to Mt Ida could be a red herring.  Regardless, the "winner" of the ECFC (SUNY or NU) - assuming they are 9-1 or 10-0 is a good shot at the Pool B
