Speaking of the AFCA, their new Poll today has Cortland #22, Montclair #24 and Fisher #25. Rowan comes in at #28. This is what I sort of expected from the D3 Poll. IMHO at this point I disagree with the D3 Poll and agree with the AFCA. Life is all about debate. I'm sure this will keep going.

I think this is reasonable.  I think the whole Fisher thing is interesting.  It's like comparing apples and oranges.  Offensive team vs. the Defense of Cortland / Montclair.  I like their team.  I don't know who is better.  QB is really good.

I do not, for the life of me, understand Alfred loss to UR though.

I watched both the AU/UR and AU/SJF games, it was like watching two totally different teams...

Considering AU lost to UR, RPI and struggled vs SLU it's starting to look like the SJF game was just an anomaly.  If AU goes down to IC it will back that up even more...

I think the D3 voters are punishing SJF for losing to AU, despite winning by 32 this past weekend, I can't blame them with either considering how streaky AU has been of late...

Most people would agree with the poll that makes them look better. Although I'm not sure even Ithaca fans agreed that they were No. 13 when the AFCA said they were earlier this year.

This is not about feeling better. I originally thought that Alfred and Ursinus would be out and Cortland would get in. Did Montclair deserve to drop, yes but not out of the Top 25 and Fisher did not deserve to go either. The AFCA Poll makes more sense, but that is my opinion (Montclair / Fisher). I just do not understand how the voters in the D3 Poll were thinking. As I said before D3 Football does have an infulence on the NCAA, because of your respect and I feel that Montclair / Fisher got a raw deal. If you feel D3 does not have an infulence on the NCAA, I humbly disagree.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

I am sorry but this is ridiculous...You still have yet to give me one valid reason why MSU has dropped from 13 in your polls to out of the top 25...

Obvi d3football.com's top 25 has influence, they have you on selection show Saturday every year...

Show me proof that it does...

First off, Fisher get essentially the same number of votes they did last week. Second, I'm not sure what beating a team that's gone 9-36 over the past 4+ years at home is supposed to say to the voters. "Hey look, we can beat a horrible football team by a lot of points on our own field" is hardly a statement

Third, you do realize these differences are essentially meaningless right? Seriously, you're so hung up on "Ranked" vs. 'Unranked" you're missing the fact that the voters are basically saying there's no difference between Wabash/Fisher/Montclair. Heck, as far as I'm concerned, the voters don't seem to see a difference between teams 23-27.

Perhaps because MSU's true "value" if you will, was more like a 20 not 13.  Then MSU lost to Cortland.  After Rowan beat Cortland, that's what I thought. It felt like a Rowan/Montclair rematch.  I felt that all three teams should be bunched around the 20's.   Win out and you'll be back in... #27 is almost in.

Too be fair, I think that's ESPN's choice not the committee's.  I could be wrong.

Oh I don't know, umm perhaps ESPN inviting Pat Coleman on their selection show to be viewed by everyone in the Country every year may help in my thought process...

Is Pat Coleman on the selection committee?

Nope.

Is the D3fb.com poll listed as a criteria used in the selection process?

Nope.

Are you just having a serious case of sour grapes and looking for anything to cry about?

Yep.

And of course, Pat never disagrees with the selection committee...he may as well be the selection committee. His will be done

Warning...this is just my opinion

The current way of play-off bracketing, which annually (of late) ships MUC to the East is wrong.  If not "wrong" it is patently inconsistent and opposite with and to the reg. season.  D3 football by its nature is a Regional sport.  It is rare that even teams from contiguous regions face off in the reg season and I have never heard of a East-West reg seaosn game for example.  So why de-regionalize the play-offs just to prove what we alreardy know...that MUC is better than all East teams....they are better than all 298 teams, save UWW.

And the tired excuse that the East is weak just doesnt matter.  Even if they are wearker...so what?  What is wrong with a Final 4 with a team from each region?  The proponents of the current system claim that because the East is weak, the Final 4 would be watered down with them there as a representative.  That is misleading.  In the past few seasons of shipping MUC East, MUC has nonetheless destroyed its Final Four opponent.  In fact, they beat teams outside the East in the Final Four in 2007-2008-2009 by an average score of 44-15.  Yet the last time they faced an East team in the FINAL FOUR...it was a 5 pt game with minutes to go.  This proves what we already know...that MUC cannot be stopped, (save UWW) and the East is not some excessively weak conference that has no basis to claim a Final Four spot every year.

As others have stated many times....If we already know no one in the country can compete with MUC, except UWW, then how does the East never getting a chance to compete at the Final Four by having to play MUC first prove they are weak?  It just proves the premise that MUC is unbeatable...

...I mean the LLWS doesnt ship Taipei to Connecticut every August just because Trumbell hasnt competed well in the past 10 years...
