As I said, this was a good conversation before you got involved. You can stop posting here now and go back to not reading.

Now you are a liar.  You get a simple concept?  Ypsi FIRST posted that I had referred to MSU as #13 (even he has since acknowledged he was mistaken).  I had not YET put a number on them, so my post was true at the time.  Then...while I was posting again, referring to them as #12...AFTER YPSI's post...I went back and corrected myself.

There is little or no difference among 12, 13, and 14.

There IS a difference about lying about what you posted.

Mr. Ypsi

FWIW, I can't recall EVER seeing the 'recent posts' with every single one from the same board! :D

This is like debating a wall....You are the ONE who admittedly mischaracterized my post....now i am lying?

Here's the NJAC tiebreaker rule:

Champion/NCAA Automatic Bid Determination

a.       The team with the best conference record in regular season play will be declared the conference champion and will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

b.       If two teams finish the season tied for first place with identical conference records, co-champions will be declared and the tiebreaker procedure listed in (A4c) will only be used to determine the conference's automatic qualification to the NCAA Tournament.

c.        In case of a tie for first place, the tiebreaker will be determined as follows:

     i.         Two teams tied:  The winner in head-to-head competition

     ii.        Three teams tied*:

          1.       Winner in head-to-head competition – team with best record against other two combined is declared champion

          2.       Results versus next highest ranked conference team (4th, 5th, 6th, 7th,  8th, 9th, 10th) until tie is broken

          3.       Opponents' opponents' winning percentage in all of Division III

          4.       Opponents' opponents' winning percentage in-region

          5.       Rose Bowl Rule

          6.       Coin toss (if 3 teams, odd team out advances

This was posted a couple of days ago and I assume it is correct.  Fran is the SID at Cortland.  If NJAC ends in three way tie, Ist head to head tie breaker is a wash. 2nd tie breaker is also a wash as all three will have beaten all other conference opponents.  Theat brings us to third tie breaker...opponents opponents winning percentage.

For Montclair that means the winning percentage of Westfield States opponents + Lycoming + Ithaca;

Rowan :Lycomings opponents + Ithaca + Westfield State

Cortland: Ithaca's opponents + Lycoming + Westfield State.

As of now the strength of the E8 and the fact that E8 only has 6 members favors Cortland.  Larger confefences of the NEFC and MAC will trend closer to .500 WP Because conference wins are nullified by conference loss.  E8 has fewer conference losses  and more OOC wins and if all holds true, will trend higher than the other two conferences. ...unless of course there are more bad losses like Alfred to UofR.

You lied about what you posted and he and I both saw it. You admitted it. Then you accused me of somehow posting your draft. What else?

Thanks Clandfan for making a post that has nothing to do with rankings or people name-calling! +K

phil

I was going to post regarding Montclair's plummet out of the polls, but got so tired reading what went on here today that I'm going to bed.

It will be a treat to see SJFF82's karma number (or lack thereof) when I awake.

phil

BTW, as a TCNJ fan, I wish I had something to argue about... or a tiebreaker rule that would affect me...
