You lied about what you posted and he and I both saw it. You admitted it. Then you accused me of somehow posting your draft. What else?

simply not true...anyone that can read english and actually cares to go back can decipher for themself

Rowan has kept every team they have played, in the game.  For that reason, I rate them lower than both Cortland and Montclair.  Typically I don't like game to game comparisons but over a whole season, there appears to be a trend.  Cortland and Montclair basically smoked the lesser teams.  Rowan has not.

BTW, as a TCNJ fan, I wish I had something to argue about... or a tiebreaker rule that would affect me...

Phil...you can beat Rowan in two weeks and make this all a lot simpler.

I tuned into the TCNJ/Westconn broadcast in the 3rd Q and heard 4 turnovers in four possessions (while the crack broadcast team from Westconn was declaring that TCNJ's QB's dad was drunk and disorderly).

Needless to say, I wouldn't count on TCNJ to do their part in untangling this mess.

At least, now that I live in Texas, I can see a bunch of people go ape sh*t and hog wild over H.S. football. ***sigh*** my life sucks!

I didn't. Yes you did. I didn't. Yes you did. II didn't. Yes you did. didn't. Yes you did. I didn't. Yes you did. I didn't. Yes you did. I didn't. Yes you did. I didn't. Yes you did.

Can't you guys take this to the tit for tat board.

Can you say tit on here? :o

I think the FCC usually only allows tit, if it's with for tat, so that would be fine  :P

SJFF82, as Pat already explained, teams who keep winning will 'drift up' almost regardless of schedule (I say 'almost', since SUNY-Maritime is still receiving zero votes).  Apparently (Pat is not responsible for or necessarily cognizant of the motivations of all 25 voters :D) a number of voters felt Montclair had drifted too high and were happy to knock them down.

[BTW, you keep saying 13th, but MSU peaked at #14.]

[Just saw Pat's post, but I'll correct you anyway. ;)]

BTW...never put a number on MSU...simply wondered why they were so high?  Think you r confusing me with MSU pride....

although I did (after your post, having not yet read your post) just refer to them as #14

So where exactly is the lie Pat?  Yes as you said I had originally referred to them as 12, but corrected MYSELF...but the point was that I had not 'put a number on them' as YPSI incorrectly stated I did.

....Tat....your turn

Like I said SJFF82, use 'preview' not 'post' if you want to call it a draft.  Otherwise anyone who happens to be on the board at the time can see what you posted before you 'modified' it.

What I posted was a misidentification of source - thinking MSU Pride's #13 was yours.

What you posted was a lie denying you had posted what two of us saw you post.

There IS a difference between an error and a lie.

I was going to post regarding Montclair's plummet out of the polls, but got so tired reading what went on here today that I'm going to bed.

It will be a treat to see SJFF82's karma number (or lack thereof) when I awake.

I bet the Karma number doesn't fall as fast as Montclair's ranking!

what the bejesus r you smokin?  You please quote my post where I denied that I originally posted them as 12...which was my error.

So let me get this straight...if you flat out mischaraterize my post....that is an error, but if I mis-post MSU's ranking, and correct it...I am a liar?

He's -7 in the last 20 minutes. I bet he'll hit -13 overall by the time the sun rises over the East!
I dropped one 5 minutes after gaining one. Dang it hurts just to be in here!

OK, far be it from me to be the voice of reason here, but I think I need to provide an example of what happens to a pollster in these situations.  Remember, I'm the voice of the "Protect the East Bracket" movement -- so take this for what it's worth.

Coming into the weekend, here were my rankings for East teams:

5 Delaware Valley
12 Montclair State
20 Alfred
23 St. John Fisher
24 Rowan

After the weekend, here are my present rankings:

5 Delaware Valley
19 St. John Fisher
20 Cortland State
21 Montclair State
22 Rowan

I dropped Montclair 9 places.  My reason:  I believe SJF has played a better schedule than the NJAC teams (subjective analysis).  I thought the narrow loss allowed me to slide Montclair between Cortland and Rowan for the time being (although, the next couple weeks can change that ordering based on performance).  At the same time, I couldn't propel SJF any further than I did, as I gave the team a little lift in its defeat of Utica (but had to temper my enthusiasm with the Alfred loss).  I had to grapple with this for a while, but there's no way out of the triangle for the time being.  I handled it with as much rationality as I could use between these four teams.

That said, let's look at how my move magnified across the poll would affect Montclair.  There are 25 voters.  Nine spots times 25 voters = 225 points.  Montclair had 306 points coming into the weekend.  Subtract:  306-225 = 81. Montclair was actually at 51 points this week. So, the average drop was in fact TEN spots, not 14 spots.  As Pat pointed out, the points between #23 and #27 are so tight, other subtle movements in the poll ballots accounted for the severe drop -- not the attempt by voters to punish MSU.  Specifically, #23 was 62, #24 was 61, #25 was 55, #26 was 54 and #27 was 51 (11 points separting 5 slots).  This isn't so much an "East bias" -- it's some non-MSU movement creating a couple ripples and making it seem like the voters trashed MSU.  I was very consistent with the average movement, and you can see that my drop was reasonable in light of the events.  My claim is this was consistent with all voters (on average).

I know this may not solve the upset out there.  However, I think it shows some of the oddities that can happen when poll results get compiled.  Hope this helps.
