That's what happens when a conference has 10 teams and forces in-league play in nine of a team's games.

Good point, although is there really a good alternative? Well, short of taking two/three NY schools from the NJAC and sticking them in the E8 in lieu of Frostburg and Salisbury so both conferences have seven or so teams all who are actually geographically related to their conference? (Strikes me as way too logical for college football.)

Not long ago, the NJAC actually had less teams.  I think a lot of people on this board thought it was actually fine as-is.  The upshot was adding Cortland.  Brockport and Buff St. have disappointed since being added.

Rowan, MSU and TCNJ had trouble getting enough OOC to play even 8 games a season, they were playing DIAA teams back then to fill out their schedules.

Based on your senario, if Montclair wins and Rowan wins, Cortland is the NJAC Champ and if the NCAA decides to give a pool "C" to the NJAC it may go to Montclair since they beat Rowan?

I can't say that last part for sure, since Rowan was listed ahead in the latest Regional Rankings.  I assume that the NCAA would re-look once Cortland is removed from the equation, although the common opponent mechanism would still exist (Rowan beat a quality opponent, while Montclair lost to the same one).  Head-to-head meetings are NOT placed as any more important than other criteria in the Manual -- one would think they are very important, but that's the Committee's prerogative to decide.
If what you say is accurate (and I have no reason to dispute it) my guess is that Montclair goes to the ECAC'S if they win out. ::)
Even if they do win out, they are not going to go, 'G' has no interest in playing in any other games that I'm aware of.  :(

To Knightstalker's point, we did not consider the NJAC to be fine "as is". Perhaps it was fine when the NJAC also included Jersey City and Ramapo, but once both of those programs folded – Rowan, Montclair and TCNJ found it next to impossible to fill out their schedules. They played nine game seasons and the occasional D1AA team. It got so bad that Montclair reportedly reached out to TCNJ and Rowan to inquire about playing each other twice.

We sure better figure a way to make 2nd half adjustments and also score in the 2nd half if we do indeed get an invitation to the dance. :(

Thats the truth, and we still do have a shot at going.

The week #10 Top 25 Poll is out. (3) NJAC teams are in the Top 25. I think all (3) will win out and be 9-1 and IMHO only (2) will go to the dance. Someone will be really pi**ed. I got a funny feeling who it will be. :(

Well if Cortland won the NJAC.  And it came down to Rowan and MSU.  Why wouldn't they pick MSU?  MSU beat Rowan.  As Pat pointed out earlier somewhere in response to how they'd settle this, isn't the most logical thing to do is pick the head to head winner if a decision is needed?

Logic makes sence but logic is not always the final decission maker.

^ especially when the NCAA is involved.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

A real shame, we lost a great man the other day!!! Head lacross coach at MSU died of a heart attack at 32 years old....

Frank Rossi

My condolences to the MSU family.  Awful news.  In order to not clog up the forum with a big post that would take away from this news, I will only post the revised Pool C numbers in the ERPF PP.  Way too young to go.  :(
