Awesome -- I heard this story was in the works when I was at WPU last month.

We've got Regional Rankings... Final time for the season that we'll see them:

http://d3blogs.com/d3football/2010/11/10/ncaas-third-regional-rankings/

NJAC looks good there at 2,3 and 4.  would be interesting to see the next rankings assuming all 3 win.  SOS will improve for cortland while Montclair and Rowan both take a hit.  Would be nice to get three bids but unlikely.  Someone isn't going to be happy.

I have been thinking what the NCAA East Regional Rankings would look like today when posted. IMHO based on NCAA SOS / OWP / OOWP at this point of time :

1.   Del Val
2.   Montclair
3.   Rowan
4.   Cortland
5.   Alfred
6.   SUNY Maritime
7.   Main Maritime
8.   Fisher
9.   Ithaca
10. Endicott

Any thoughts ?
The boys will be going all out this weekend, it will be Coach 'G's' 200th win after the final whistle.

Last Saturday should have been Coach G's 200th. 2 weeks with -0- points in the second half just doesn't cut it. >:( I hope we wake-up before before it's too late. There is really a lot of talent here. I hope it's not wasted. Time to take it out against somebody.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Interesting news out of the NJAC and MAC today...

MAC-NJAC Challenge announced

The MAC currently has a "challenge" with the Presidents' Athletic Conference in West Pennsylvania for 2010 and 2011.  In that format the first place teams as determined by the 2009 standings play each other for two years as do the second place teams, etc.  Thomas More doesn't participate given its distance and traditional rivalries outside the conference.

This challenge has a different format.  There are predetermined match ups, some of which have been happening for a while (TCNJ-FDU-Florham) and some of which are new, at least for the regular season (Lycoming-Brockport, Del Val-Rowan).  Stevenson, which will join the MAC in 2011, will not participate nor will Misericordia which is adding football.  In the NJAC Cortland State will not participate.  Buffalo State is leaving the Conference to join the Empire 8.

It's a nice idea to help both conferences fill out their schedules.  From Del Val's perspective, it adds the big non-conference challenge that the Aggies have recently had in Wesley.  Wesley drops off Del Val's schedule next year with the addition of Stevenson and two year contracts in place with W&J and Muhlenberg.

Anyone know why Cortland is not participating?  Is it because they don't have trouble filling out their schedules or something like that?

Well if the NJAC happened to have enough teams for 9 Conference games, if Cortland participated they'd have to gve up the Cortaca game.  I'm thinking the logic was something along those lines...

Unless Cortland is still playing Buff St., they'll need a second OOC game.  Buff St. is leaving the NJAC for the E8 next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Buffalo stayed on Cortland's schedule even after the Bengals move.

That what I was thinking... remaining an OOC.

DanPadavona

It's unfortunate.  I would love to see Cortland play a MAC team, but I can't see them breaking their long time schedule with Buffalo State.  The other side of the equation is the NJAC will now have an extra cross-over game with the E8.
