MSU Pride

This is the longest day every lol, I have been awake since 5am...Love my team love my coaches and I truly hope the committee gives them a shot, who would have thought a 1 point loss to the top ranked (or almost top ranked) defense in D3 football, and beating Rowan (the beast of the East) 26-7 isn't good enough... BTW did anyone happen to catch the espn piece yesterday regarding Middlebury College called "Picking Up Butch" wow tears in my eyes what an amazing story!!!!

I'm just kind of summarizing what the projections stated... Rowan is kind of a shoe-in because they beat Cortland, who would be ranked #1 in the regional rankings, thus making their "SOS" higher.

Rams,  It doesn't come down to Rowan.  This is a national discussion.  ROwan is like the 3rd Pool C team in.  The committee will have to discuss MSU vs. Wabash as the 7th team in, but they might not necessarily have to discuss MSU vs. Rowan.

It's a stacking question, though.  Who is the #1 Pool C in the East?  That determines what comparisons are made in the first place.  You can't deny that Montclair and Rowan both have QWs against some of the top teams in their Region.  The Committee seems to try to compare these levels of wins across the regions (it's apples and oranges trying to do that, but that's how W&J got in last year).  That bodes well for both Rowan and Montclair.

They both have 1 QW IMO

Well, someone will discuss Montclair vs. Rowan, but it will be before they actually start selecting Pool C's.

Keith said it best on the blog -- there are so many 1-loss teams that trying to figure out what they'll do is nearly impossible.

To clarify what Pat, Frank and others are saying on here already (and for those who don't read the other boards/blogs) Pool C is determined by taking the top ranked teams from each region and comparing them. So Rowan and MSU are never compared to each other. The top east pool C is compared to the top teams from each of the other regions. Pat has said if MSU is ranked above Rowan the risk is that neither gets selected because MSU vs the other top Pool C's is not favorable. Once Rowan gets picked, MSU pops up and is compared to the other regions top Pool C's. It is important to understand the process to assess who is in vs who is not. So the HTH of MSU v Rowan never really gets discussed in this process. Unfortunate but a reality.

So you mean that Rowan fairs better with the other top Pool C's. The difference is soo small.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Leaving 'em both home solves the problem.

Rams, yes. according to Pat, Rowan is a better pool C vs other regions than MSU. I think the best chance to get both Rowan and MSU is to rank Rowan above MSU. At least both get to the table and MSU ends up being compared to Wabash and Coe.

Congrats to Montclair.  The stars were in alignment.  Good luck.

Good luck to Cortland and Montclair.  Represent.  An All-NJAC Stagg Bowl is in your hands.

Great season Profs.  You guys fought every week and got better every week.  One of the best teams that is staying home. Remember this and take it to 'em next year. No prisoners!!!

I got up around 2:30AM and before roplling back over, I went down stairs checked D3 and read the 2nd projections. Decided not to post, slept on it, still kept thinking and now I'm back on the computer. Here we go :

Congrats to Cortland as NJAC Champs. The double monkey stomping of De Pauw by Wabash to me would justify them a Pool C even they are 8-2.  Now down to the so called proposed Rowan pick as a Pool C.  The stregnth of Schedule as determined by the NCAA,  Montclair .493, Rowan .500, Westfield .518, and Lycoming .523. Not much of a difference. Montclair beats Rowan 26-7. The NCAA can pipe as much smoke up my arse as they want but if they pick Rowan as a Pool C instead of Montclair it is nothink but politics and they can spin it any way they want. Oh, by the way is not the AD of Rowan the head of the NCAA Selection Committee. ::) Again if Rowan is in and Montclair is out, this will be a big black for the NCAA, but I guess they probably don't care anyway. >:(

Stop your whining.  All Montclair had to do was beat Rowan and then they wou......oh wait, never mind.

I have a feeling that the NCAA will take Montclair over Rowan.  Just a gut feeling.

They don't call me Jonny Labcoat for nothing you know.

Maybe if Rowan had scheduled some tougher nonleague games they might have gotten the nod?  Or have we come to the conclusion that scheduling good non-league games doesn't help you still.

(I think Rowan had a good NCC, and it is too bad they didn't make it.)

Hard to schedule when many teams say no.  They do start a home-and-home with Del Val next year.  They need to add one more as Lycoming drops off.

The Profs didn't get in? Damn, must be just another Obama, White House, liberal-left conspiracy ....  :o

Going to be cool.... MSU will see at least one team we East Regioners rarely do.... maybe more.
