Heading into the playoffs I was very curious to see how the NJAC would stand up because of Rowan, Montclair and Cortland's defenses all being ranked so high in the national stats.

Today was not a good day for the conference.

Well I think a lot of us felt that Rowan was probably the best NJAC team at this point in the season though too.
By the end of the season I thought Rowan was the best team in the NJAC. Not to say that Wesley wouldn't have beat them though.

I don't know if Wesley is losing to anyone in this tournament (other than UWW or MUC, but even then I think they can potentially beat either one of those guys if a few things fall into place).

I've felt for the last 4 years the E8 has been the top Eastern Conference.  Judging from today's CS-AU game and the Cortaca Jug, Cortland would have been a 3rd place E8 team this season.  The NJAC is solid from top to bottom minus one (West Conn), but it has lacked a serious powerhouse team since the Rowan teams of the early 2000s.

The E8 is likely to be even stronger once Salisbury and Frostburg replace Springfield.  But these things go in cycles.  It could be that Del Valley's rise to prominence will lead the MAC to the top of the Eastern heap soon.  Or maybe the sleeping giant which is Anna Maria will become "MUC East" and solidify the ECFC as the...okay maybe not that.

Montclair's QB with three picks and the offense with 74 yards total yards to Wesley's 360+...
Would have been better for the NJAC if MSU lost last week...

Shut Up  ;D I was there and just got home. Let me lick my wounds. >:(
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Rowan would have gotten wacked too. This Wesley team is awsome and IMHO nobody in the NJAC is at that level. Seeing is believing.

wesleydad : Nice meeting you too. As I said to you, we can beat you, but everything have to be perfect. You said it nicely in your post, but we are not in your league yet. I told you I had you guys going all they way this year. You can do it. I could start commenting who did well, but the list is to long. By the way #75 is good but he could get you in trouble. Best of luck and I want to watch you guys on ESPN for the Stagg. ;)

rams1102, this is the best team that i have seen and my son played on some pretty good ones, 2 semis and 2 1/4's so i think i have a clue.  i told you how good they were on defense and they proved it today.  the offense is getting real good, better than last year when they relied too much on the qb running the ball.  how do you stop this team, your d is good, but they had no clue what to do.  stop the run or pass.  i also think i will be cheering for this team in salem, and so will some of my friends from bridgewater be happy about it too.

I'm sticking with my UMHB pick, to be honest.  The team's early stumbles are important in shaping this team's postseason.  They've gotten better since.  Look at yesterday's score.

Wesley is extremely fast but I do think they can be thrown on, our O-line did give him time and Wr's did get open...Not saying Wesley wasn't better at all, but I do think they are beatable...

The line giving him time and the receivers being open are only 1/2 of the equation.
The other 1/2 IMO
You have to throw the ball with confidence.
You need to, block just as well, if not better, for the run game.!!!
Happy Holidays to all !!!

Sorry for the late post but wanted  to congratulate Cortland for another strong season.  I know many have stated that Cortland over achieved this year and while I tend to agree, still as a fan, very happy that they did!  If it's true, then more power to the coaching staff for getting the team to over achieve.

I believe that next season will only be better.  Certainly those returning next year will continue to push for a deeper run next year and there have been some younger players that stepped in as needed throughout the season that performed extremely well.  I for one am already looking forward to next year.

So congrats to the seniors.  Not too shabby going out in the second round of the playoffs and after a 3 year drought, a Cortaca win.  Thanks to the coaching staff for another outstanding job and best of luck to all those fighting for spots for next season.

Great season.
