Does that mean that MSU Pride is lying through his teeth like the politcal BSers on TV?  That doesn't bode particularly well for your team.

Certainly Montclair is capable.  I just think it speaks to the strength and parity of the league that with 3 weeks to go there are still 5 teams in the conversation.  In the big picture though it kills us because we never have a dominant undefeated team.  I am curious to see what happens if Salisbury runs the table.  Despite being in the E8, they probably go south which brings Ohio St. Jr. back to the east again.

Phil ,
You are not the only LION on the board... I was at the game saturday ..... great homecoming ,  the crowd , activities & tailgate parties ,the campus never looked better , the vibe was upbeat , old friends & a huge victory over Montclair .... unlike the Kean game , were the better team did not pervail , this time we got it right....the  Kean game , ....we outplayed them from the 9 min mark of the 1st qt until we missed our 2nd  chip shot fg from inside the 5 yr line in the final 9 mins of the game... this time we got the job done... TCNJ was the superior team saturday afternoon.... we took it away from in the 4th qtr... stopped the run , pressured the qb , the punt return that set up the final drive that lasted 7:48 was key.... this is a special group,i sensed it while on the sideline w/ the team for the willy p & kean games.....what they do not have in size & numbers they make for with smarts, confidence & an inner swagger.... montclair is better then kean , rowan i haven't seen.... cortland this week will be very very tuff

oh btw , the fake punt in the 3rd period was the punters read , his call, that play did not come from the sideline... tyler olsen , i love ya kid , you've got balls

MSU Pride

wow, that punter does have a set of balls if that was his own call, it was have been 3rd and 15 from their own 35...Btw, very impressed with the tailgate I saw at TCNJ...This Sat is MSU's tailgate, for any alum, fellas we are all meeting at the train station at around 10am (game starts at 2) lol...They will have the tents set up in the endzone for us like usual...

It's been awhile but with interesting things happening in the NJAC and Cortaca coming up, I figured I would drop in for a post.  I have been following things from afar, but does a 2 loss Cortland have any shot at the NJAC? From the looks of it, Rowan, Kean, and Montclair all have to play each other which could put 4 teams with 2 conference losses. (Please correct me if I am wrong).  While the chances of all of this happening are very slim, what would happen?

Hey CState:  I do think that is a slim chance and someone smarter will have to iron it all out.  I have seen all play and personally, I think Rowan is in the driver's seat.  I don't think Kean can beat either Rowan or Montclair...that would put them at 6-3.  I don't think Montclair can beat Rowan with their backup QB.  That puts Montclair at 7-2.  I think Cortland "should" win out but TCNJ and Brockport could have something to say about it.  Let's assume Cortland ends up 7-2.  It will come down to Rowan vs. TCNJ during the last week.  If Rowan wins, they are 8-1 and get the AQ.  If they lose, once again, Montclair, Rowan and Cortland are all 7-2 and will have beaten each other and have the same combined record against league opponents.  similar scenario to last year.  BUT...don't rule out TCNJ.  They beat Montclair.  If they run the table against Cortland, WConn and Rowan....they win the AQ...Kean, Montclair, TCNJ, Rowan all control their own destiny.  If any of them win out, they go.  If they all beat up on each other and Cortland wins out...Cortland could be in the mix for a tie breaker.  To sum it all up...NJAC is a mess and I have no idea what I am talking about.

At a game behind Kean, already having lost to Kean, does TCNJ really control its own destiny? I don't believe that's the case.

I guess you are right, Pat.  I was operating on my prediction that Kean would lose to both Montclair and Rowan, in which case TCNJ would win the AQ if they won out.  That's not exactly controlling their own destiny.

You seem to be a little bitter lately. Still (3) more weeks to go. Cheer up. :)
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Hey mentor,

How have you been?  For me its weird not having the time to do the 240 miles round trip and make 8,9 out of 10 regular season games.  Family and do-it-yourself home improvement means listening on the web.

Rowan is Rowan without the kick your azz swagger.  They are good, but not good enough to survive the personal fouls, defensive penalties on 3rd and long, and unsportsman like stuff.  They don't have the overwhelming talent to come in like the Oakland Raiders of old.  They have to play smart, aggressive, yet in control. They've been having trouble with the in control part.

I expect an out of control game on Nov. 12 regardless of the records on either side.  Good times.  Hope to squeeze away and get to Ewing... only vacation of the year is a cruise beginning on the 18th. Hopefully, the prep will be done as per the wife's standards before the 12th.

I guess I am bitter.  Perhaps like the Montclair faithful felt after the disappointment at Cortland last year.  I really like this team and think its the best in the NJAC and no matter how I slice it we are on the outside looking in unless something really strange happens.

Mentor,
Good to hear from you. Until the move to Texas I had made 30 straight Montclair games ... and there's nothing like being in Ewing on a Fall day when MSU or Rowan are visiting. Hopefully the team can get the job done over the next three weeks and then let the chips fall where they may.

Great story about an on-field proposal following the TCNJ/Montclair game...

Very cool and best of luck to them.  The question though is would the proposal have happened without the win?

Funny to listen how everyone bashs Kean's football program when all they have done is win no matter what!
They lost 1 game & that discredits everything that they accomplished so far this season???  ???
The bottom line is the team with the most wins in the conference gets an automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs!
Here's to the team EVERYBODY loves to HATE  :P getting enough lucky breaks to win the NJAC!!!

Gooooo Kean Cougars!!!!  ;D
