big game this weekend at rowan and very little discussion.  i believe that if montclaire is as good as some think, they will win this game and set up the njac battle with kean next week.  i think the game will be low scoring since montclaire has a strong d and rowan has an average o, or at least they were average when i saw them play cortland.  i guess the question will be can montclaire score enought to win the game?

Montclair-Rowan is huge. I have had my doubts about Montclair since they lost their QB in the Cortland game. They weren't the same in the second half of that game and nearly lost, and then did lose a few weeks later to TCNJ.

No question the QB position is the most important in football (see: Colts with Manning and without), and college football is becoming more pass oriented at all levels. So I'm not a believer in Montclair until they go into Rowan, score points, and get the job done. If they do, I think it will change a lot of our perceptions about the Red Hawks current situation.

Lots of big games tomorrow. None bigger in Eastern Region than Del Valley at Lycoming imo.

Well said and +K.

Yeah I know who that Rowan QB was and he was highly overrated....

My Red Hawks, this is why you play the game!!!!!! I have such fond memories of the preparation week against Rowan, the practices were intense, we practically slept in the film room, we all held our heads high, with a purpose and the true meaning of the word brotherhood could be seen on all angles...I remember, it didn't matter where I was on campus, I couldn't see anyone except my team, it didn't matter who was talking, I couldn't hear anyone anyone except my teammates and coaches. This Saturday fellas, put it all on the line, send of F$%ing message to the conference, to the East to everyone that MSU is ready for War!

Well said my friend. We need to take care of business and no fu%^ing around. I know the feeling. It was (41) years ago in another sport that I played in college when we won it all. Get the boys fired up in Glassboro. Can't make it to the game tomorrow. Personel reasons. I'll send you a PM tomorrow. +K. "Keep Pounding" and make Sam proud.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rams1102, here is hoping that montclaire can keep up their end of the bargain to set up the njac championship game next weekend.  that game is the top one on my travel list if it happens, will hopefully be my first trip to montclaire.  i figure it will be a low scoring game which always favors montclaire imo.  17 - 14 sounds good to me.  good luck today and may every weekend from here on out have weather this good on saturday.

DanPadavona

That would be a good one to travel to next week, Wesleydad. If Del Valley wins on the road today and Widener takes care of business, their match up next weekend is another great choice and arguably the biggest game in Eastern Region. I'll be attending a little game called Cortaca.   8-)

An absolutely spectacular finish to the Del Val - Lycoming game. After Lycoming scored a touchdown with a little more than 1:00 left in the 4th quarter to tie the game at 21 - 21, Del Val got the ball back with just 0:58 and marched 54 yards in just 0:45 (against that defense on the road) to take a 28 - 21 lead with 0:13 left on the clock. On the ensuing kickoff, Lycoming had multiple laterals and got down to the Del Val 6 yard line before fumbling.........WHAT A FINISH!!!!

On the final drive, freshman QB Aaron Wilmer completed a 15 yard pass on third and ten, followed that up with a 15 yard pass on first and ten and capped the drive off with an 8 yard run for a touchdown.

Two big differences between the teams in my opinion..........Del Val put up 380 yards of offense against a very good defense on the road (didn't see that coming) while Lycoming had 280 yards of offense.

Del Val freshman QB Aaron Wilmer was 17 - 34 for 263 yards and 2 passing TD's and 1 rushing TD. Klinger was 15 - 28 for just 123 yards and 2 TD's.

The other difference was on the defensive side. Both defenses were solid against the run.......3.3 and 3.7 yards per carry, but the Aggies defense had 5 sacks and several hurries while Lycoming had just 1 sack.

Lycoming has a very good team and is very tough at home. My biggest surprise is that the young Aggies offense, who will be returning everybody of consequence in 2012, scored 28 points and drove down the field in 45 seconds to score a touchdown.

Hats off to both teams........great game. Congrats to the Aggies.......enjoy the ride home, have a great night and let's get ready for Widener. This will be the MAC game of the year.......if not past several years.

I'm proud of you for a great victory!! Shout out to Kate, ZeroMischief and dc21 (better see you next week!!).

Have a great night........the steak will taste that much better at The Freight House in Doylestown tonight!!

Timeforachange - In answer to your question, at this time of the year..........YES!! MAC Board....obvious, Eastern Region Poll.....obvious, NJAC.... (obvious.....think Montclair), Empire 8/Liberty.....obvious (think Salisbury).

I wish that someone would give me-us depth this time of the year in critical games that affect playoff seeding. The one line "Team A beat Team B by 3 points" doesn't get me jazzed.......especially at this time of the year.

Do I sense that the final score didn't work out for you for any particular reason?

So, again, importance/relevance/time of year/impact........YES/YES/YES/YES!!

I'm hoping that somebody will provide the same for the Rowan - MSU and UMU -BW games!

No, it wasn't. Don't blast the boards. We get it, you're excited. We don't need to hear about it on EVERY board

Got back from the hospital around 2:30. All will be OK with the family. I turn on live stats and see 21-7 Rowan. Talk about what the F%$K. I said here we go again. Then we start coming together. 31-28 Montclair with (50) seconds left and we fumble. Rowan has the ball 3rd and goal from the (1). Pass imcomplete and they get the field goal to tie. In OT they miss the field goal and Chris does his thing and we get the TD for a 37-21 win. Not easy on the heart, but a Big "W". Time to take care of business at "Sam Mills Field" next Saturday and bring home another NJAC Championship.

You are psyched and proud. It's OK. You're a fan. There is still big games to come. Thankfully Montclair is in one of those games along with Del Val.

This game will be for ALL the MARBLES 8-)!!!
Better hope MSU 2nd string QB can handle the pressure :o!!!

Good statement win for Kean but...

Awesome statement by Montclair on the road, rallying with Cathey from 21-0 down, to win in OT. All the questions I had about the Montclair offense going into this game have been answered. Great, great win. Next week is going to be incredible.

D3 athlete, are you mocking the "Keep Pounding" saying??...You realize this is in tribute to Sam Mills, who is from NJ, played football at MSU, played in the NFL and died of cancer, a young guy in his 40's with a family......If you are, come to the game next sat, come to the train station (it's across from the football field) I'll be there, my name is Fred DeFinis, ask for me...
