Easy Pride, I don't think he meant it as disrespect to Sam Mills. Relax. Have a cold one. You won for goodness sake!

rams, glad to here all is well with family.  also glad that montclaire won the game.  looks like i wil be taking the trip to montclaire for the njac championship.  i will talk to you later this week about tailgating and all that stuff.

dan, the del val game was my next choice had montclaire lost.  my third choice was a little game between wesley and huntington for possibly the pool b bid.  never been to montclaire so that wins out.

Dan, I think you are right, but -44K and liking to talk smack can sometimes raise the hairs on your neck. I know Fred, he is a good guy, a big supporter of the Sam Mills Cancer Fund and Montclair. He was also a pretty dam good DB. ;)

If you make it the tailgate is on me. A few Burgers, dogs and some beers will be at the train station for you. You will also get to meet some alums. MSU Pride will be one, he is a good guy. Let me know.

Dave, didn't you introduce me to Fred at the Montclair game 3 or 4 years ago? I remember meeting a former player hanging out with you near the end zone fence.

I think you are correct. It's nice to be associated with youth, especially when you just turned (59). ::) Looks like an ECAC for Cortland, they deserve better. ;)

Not really. I'm of the Bill Parcels "You are what your record says you are" camp. It's not like we got robbed by a freak play, or a bad call. Montclair and Kean both beat us straight up.

There are problems with Cortland. I kinda see them on the same level as SJ Fisher this season. Good, but not quite NCAA-ready. They won convincingly at Brockport, but gave up 40+. Our "championship game" is still Cortaca in the eyes of a lot of fans. Until we raise our level, that perception will remain.

Best of luck at Cortaca...you won't need much...but good luck.

rams, i will be there so you just have to tell me what time to show up and where the train station is, and i will be early as i do not like being late.  i look forward to meeting anyone who likes this as much as i do.  i will also bring some brew with me, maybe some growlers from my local brew pub for you northern njites to try.  this should be a good game and i will be interested to see what kean looks like since i saw them against wesley.

Not sure but I think there were 20 Pts scored by Brockport in the 4th qtr against Cortlands second D. Still, the opening defensive series was a bit of a fiasco with like 4 or 5 offside penalties against Cortlands defense.

I do think Cortland is a very good team this year. Yes they lost and yes their record speaks for itself but the two losses could have easily gone the other way. But they didn't. I do think it's a fair statement that Cortland is better than their record shows but as Dan correctly points out, that's all that matters in the end.

Even not making the playoffs, still have Cortaca. Looking forward to it.

DanPadavona

RDF, you have to consider Brockport had 24 points in the first half against the 1st team Cortland Defense. Cortland was lucky to be ahead. I think Brockport out gained them something like 370 to 250 yards in the first half. Yes, Brockport was on pace for a 700 yard performance.

I'm not sure what is going on with Cortland right now, but this doesn't feel like an NCAA caliber team to me. They have the QB, and a fantastic sophomore WR. Individually there is some great talent on defense. But it just isn't working like it should be. I doubt we would last long in the NCAA playoffs. I just hope that if they accept an ECAC bid, they show up to play.

WCSU loses 47-10 to TCNJ.  Last game of the year home against William Paterson to break a 2+ year losing streak.

Dan,  Cortland is as NCAA ready as any team in the NJAC, if not more so.  We Certainly do not have the same defensive team that we are used to seeing in Cortland.  We are in experienced on the line, short on the corners, have a penchant for giving up the big play and frankly, I don't see the coaching taking place on the sideline.  It wasn't rocket science to see that Brockports second QB was going to run the football yet we failed to adjut until halftime.  That being said, we have the top scoring defense in the NJAC.  Offensively, we have the best OL, the best QB (despite your annointing of D'Ambrisi), the best WR, a deep RB corp (despite last year's player of the year sitting on the sideline.  They are re-writing Cortlands record books.  Offensively, we are as complete as we have been in years, rivaling the 2008 squad and better than just about any other.  Records are what count so we don't make the playoffs but we are no less ready than any other NJAC team.  Now, if you want to talk weakness in the NJAC top as a whole...can't really argue but please don't make it sound like the Red Dragons pale in comparison.  I think some of your bitterness toward Cortland admin is coming through.  It's unfortunate that the best team in the NJAC stays home this year.  Two plays ( now you may have your choice of two) are the difference between 7-2 and 9-0 and the AQ.  I think we would be lucky to get past the second round, we just don't have the defense to be an upper echelon team but neither do Montclair or Kean.  They have both been the recipients of good fortune this year but I don't see a team that loses to Brockport or a team that escapes Morrisville by an unsuccessful 2 pt conversion (hats off to Terry Dow for going for the win) as being better teams than Cortland despite their record.  Yes, Dan, I understand that record is all that counts but you are giving Cortland less credit than they deserve.

clandfan

Oops, Cortland leads in total defense, not scoring defense.  My bad.  And that is after completing our NJAC schedule and not playing in any of the snow bowls from last weekend.  My point is that Dan eludes to Cortland having problems and the same could be said for every other team in the NJAC.  I respect his opinion, he knows Cortland football.  I don't think he has seen enough of them This year to be dismissive of their accomplishments. Coach Mac has gone on record of saying this may be one of his best teams ever.
