Bored....when does the season start?

clandfan

We have some pretty big holes to fill on OL and QB.  Coming out of spring, looks like Chris Rose is the odds on favorite to replace Pitcher at QB.  Lots of questions on OL.   Smith and Allen will be missed at LB.  Lots of spots up for grabs in August.

Have learned that Dan Pitcher hired by Indianapolis Colts as a scouting assistant.  Congrats to him.

I'm totally boared too. I tried to start some talk, but it will probably not happen until mid August at best. Made my predictions for the NJAC but it fell on deft ears. After this season W.Conn will be out and we will have to find (3) OC games. I wonder if anyone else would leave. It could be interesting. I hope all is well with you. Time to start planning for the Pick-Em's.  :)

Anytime the Red Sox get drilled is a good day.  The fact that Bobby V is their manager, is icing on the cake.

I totally agree. The NFL Panthers jersey's with the "Keep Pounding " is awsome. How are the boys from Glassboro going to look this year. You guys have a tough one out of the box. Our game is no better. Should be a fun season. In closing, the Red Sox must be happy with the Rain Gods. Looks like they won't get embarrassed tonight.  ;D

I'm not sure what Rowan is going to look like having only gone to one game last year.  My domain now redirects to the official college site.  I think I can make 3-4 games.  It will be nice to sit in the stands and enjoy the game for a change.  Pencil me in at Montclair, and hopefully the cops will leave us alone at the tailgate.  Gonna try to make opening day for DVC.

Looks like W.Conn has announced their new head Coach. He came from the OAC. Any thoughts?

Remember him when he was at Kean.  Wonder what happened to him at Otterbein, his alma mater.  He had a good season or two. Perhaps an OAC PP poster can elaborate.

I was lurking on the OAC page and noticed that he was an assistant at W.Conn and that his wife was from W.Conn. With W.Conn jumping to the new conference next year which appears to be much weaker then the NJAC should allow him to build up the program and in 2-3 years maybe contend for an AQ to the Dance. From what I heard he is young, tough and fair. Sort of reminds me of SUNY Maritime. Time will tell.

I'll see ya at tthe Train Station. Did not have any problems last year. The Kean game really blew, but that's the past. With Cathy as a Senior QB we will be OK there, and a little help on the "o" line line we may have another shot if the OC doesn't screw the pooch again. I think everyone lost a fair amount of players and especially at QB so time will tell. Could be up for grabs this year. Let's see howh we survive the MAC Challange. Good luck vs Del Val.

If I can watch some games on the web, and mix it with going to a few games... I can get a feel for the team again.  Gotta see who is back after camp.  Attrition has been a problem the past few years.  One year and gone.  Two and gone.

Looks like TCNJ and Ursinus are going to square off in week 1.  Should be a good game...any predictions?

I do the NJAC Pick Em Contest. I needed a D3 Football fix so I did the spreads for week #1. I need to re-tool after the D3 magazine comes our in late August. Presently TCNJ (-3.5) vs Ursinus.  ;)

So remind me...I know Buff St. is E8 this year but our schedule will not change as they and Ithaca will be our OOC opponents for the foreseeable  future.  W. Conn is leaving.  What about Morrisville?  I remember a rumor that they may leave but I don't know if it was anything more than a rumor.  I think Cortland will stay put but it would certainly make economic sense for us and Brockport to go E8 and Salisbury and Frostburg St to perhaps go NJAC.    Their E8 affiliation was for only a couple of years was it not?

clandfan

Im not so sure that Cortland challenges this year.  We have big holes to fill.  We lose three starters on OL and our QB.  I assume Rose will be QB.  Nice arm but not as mobile as Pitcher and almost no experience so can he make the necessary reads?   The whole key will be the OL.  If they can give Rose enough time to get the ball to his wideouts and if they can make holes for Autera, Myles, Greene we will be ok.  Big IF.

Defensively, We lose our top two tacklers, our top pass rusher and our best DB.

I might be surprised but I am having a hard time coming up with a recipe for success.   I would pick us behind Montclair, Rowan, TCNJ and Kean.  Ouch.

B-Port goes to the E-8 in 2014. That will leave (7) teams in the NJAC for 2014. That being said Kean and TCNJ both lose their QB's. Montclair also lost their QB, Fisher, but for some strange reason Cathy will be back for his senior year. He lead us to the Kean game when Fisher was out with a high ankle sprain (4 weeks). Then our OC screwed the pooch had Fisher play the entire Kean game. Bye Bye playoffs. I'm still crazy. You may give Montclair a slight edge, but to me it could be very interesting in the NJAC this year.

Rose was at Hobart his FR year.  I'm really interested to see how he does.  I thought he'd beat out Strang and had heard he was in the running to start as a FY, but was also behind a 1-AA transfer (Preston Earl) and a talented, but flaky Soph (Doug Vella) at Hobart.

clandfan

Rose could be pretty good.  He throws the ball pretty well.  He just doesn't have much experience.  He got some clean-up time last year but usually with the second team.   If the OL can give him time, he has a great receiver corp.  Inexperienced OL and inexperienced QB who isn't as mobile as Pitcher was....I have concerns.  I hope they are unfounded.
