Gotta give a shout out to form NJAC standout at Kean Jared Chunn, while he isn't a Red Hawk lol...One of most humble and hard working young men I have ever met. He reached out to me and said he wanted to give playing professional football one more chance...He began to train at DeFranco's gym in NJ and we got him a workout for the first annual Euro Bowl Classic. A game made up of professional football players from Italy, Poland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Vs the US Jared is the starting tailback, the game is this saturday in Warsaw, Poland at the same stadium where the Euro Cup was and will be aired  on the Warsaw Eagles website!  http://www.playcdfl.com/ the game will have scouts from all across Europe, NFL and CFL, 60,000 are expected to be at the game!

I think we are going to be just fine this year, this isn't coach G's first rodeo, he can put together a winning team with the best of emm...They will be ready to go come Saturday

heading to NJAC territory this weekend to see the Del Val/ Rowan game.  What is the word on Rowan.  I have an idea as to how good Del Val is having seen them last year a couple of times.  They had a young offense that will likely be much better which may be scary for some of the teams they have to play.  Not sure if this game will be close, not sure what Rowan has and I was not impressed when I saw them last year.  Very average offense.  Good luck to all you guys that I have met.  May get to a Montclair game this year, travel plans not finished yet.

If you are going to make it to the Train Station, let me know.  ;)

The time has come, D3 football is finailly here. Time for the young Red Hawks to take the field.

110-60 and "Keep Pounding" = The key to success.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was at the Rowan win today.  They totally dominated the game with their front 7 on defense.  Kept Del Val bottled up.  They will be a tough game for anyone in the NJAC if the d plays that well every week.  They do nothing special on offense, they are efficient and that will probably keep games closer than they should be.  They have to be one of the favorites to win the NJAC after today's game.

Leb Valley 31     Montclair 21

Congrats to Leb Valley and to your win. To be honest I thought the Red Hawks played hard. They won the time of possession, total yards, but 3 pics and a fumble will beat you and it did. I will give the "D" a B/B+. In the first half we were giving up 5-6 yards on runs and that hurt, also got beat on 3 deep passes, we had 2 0n 1 but were always turned the wrong way. The "O" was sort of predictable the first half but in the second half we played with an empty backfield. If you live by the sword you will also die by it. We need to mix it up more. Cathy has to react with his gut. I like him a lot. #85 will also do well as a freshmen receiver. The Fisher kid is really tough. He took a shoulder to the head on a catch and jumped up OK. Playing from behind is tough. I feel we will improve every game. If we mix it up and play tough, good things will happen. We have to believe. Let's make it happen at Salve. They will be pumped after their win over  Union. Let's just do it.

What in God's name happened to Cortland's defense today?

I have to say that almost every NJAC game was a shock to me in either score or result.

Who knows? I always remember Buff State giving us problems but the Dragons pulling through. The yardage they gave up yesterday is insane.

I was surprised to see Kean fall out of theTop 25. I thought Montclair would have fallen further, but I will take it. ;D I think we will improve every week. If we could win through the Cortland game it should be interesting. Salve will test our metal this week. Congrats to Rowan. That was a big win and deservingly ranked #20. Boy that was hard to say. ::)

Watch out for Buff St. Any word on what happened to Cortland?

Veteran, experienced Buff St. offense exploited a young, inexperienced Cortland defense .........bigtime. Get a kid who can throw in D3 play and you're going to be a team to watch!!  Buffs have that and at least one talented runner, plus an outstanding skipper. J. Boyes in his second term has quickly put the Bengals back on the map. Had them on the rise in his first go-round ...... then had health issues and took a break. Interestingly, he was nearly the Cortland hire in '86 when D. Kayser got the nod instead and quickly revived the Red Dragons' program. Boyes was CState's second choice. Wound up at the budding BS program and soon brought it to respectability. And now ......Bengals are baaaack!!

Overall a tough weekend for the NJAC. Rowan started their season off with a great quality win. A little surprised by Kean losing to Albright especially being at home. Idk how to look at the Cortland Buff State game. Is Buff State going to be that good or is this a down year for Cortland? Seems that Cortland is going to have to win alot of shootouts with a young defense. Brockport opened with a quality win against Lyco but having to travel to Rowan, Kean, Montclair and Cortland is alot for any team to handle.

Onto MSU. This years team is very young. Half the roster are freshmen. From watching the game, if MSU can't run the ball with any success it will be a long year. Once again the offense is way too predictable. Wherever the fullback goes, that is where the ball goes. No counters, no screens, no playaction, no misdirection. The coaches have to adapt to their players and stop running a 1980's offense. I think that has also affected recruiting offensive players to MSU. LVC ran a similar offense but utilized playaction very well. Next game is at Salve Regina. I wouldn't say it is a must win with being OOC but to start 0-2 would be tough with still having to play much harder teams later on.

Your post on the Montclair "O" gives substance to my bitching about the "O" coaching. You appear to be talking from experience. ;) I'm talking as  10 year fan. The last time I can really say we were unpredictable and exciting was with D'Geralimo at QB. He really did not listen to the plays coming in and did what he wanted. Pissed people off bur we were good. Too bad he didn't like to study. If our "O" coaching remains the same, Cathy has to make things happen. Off tackle left and right will not work. We need a a big win at Salve. I hope the coaching wakes up. Also +K for your post.

The O coaching I don't believe will change. Cathy should just change the plays at the line of scrimmage like you suggested. If they have 8 guys in the box don't run the ball. It is not rocket science. Over the past 5 to 6 years MSU had talent to outplay teams and they won because of that talent, not the coaching in my opinion. You can watch a game from 6 years ago and saturday's game and you have the same exact plays, it is very disappointing to see the lack of creativity on offense. The past 3 years with MSU skills players would have been fun if they ran the spread but one can only dream for that to happen until there is a new O coordinator.

As far as a new "O" Coordinator, we both know we are screwed. >:( We can always hope. :)
