Good Job Cortland! It's easy for me to say now but I was on the side of those picking Cortland earlier. Having seen both teams play Brockport (not in person), I felt that Cortland had a very good chance of winning.

I consider home field advantage to be worth 3 points and I had both teams together on my ERFP ballot, so I don't think I'll be knocking Rowan for the loss (outside of flipping them with Cortland).  But congrats to Cortland for taking care of business in a very evenly matched contest.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

rams called this one correct.  looks like rowan cost themselves the game with too many turnovers.  the njac remains wide open.

Hope it doesn't end up decided in a coin toss  :P  ;)

Quick question.  Been incredibly busy and have not been able to follow the Dragons as closely as I would like.  I have wondered what has kept them out of the rankings all year.  This was a team coming off a fantastic season last year. The Buff State loss looked bad until they knocked off the #1 team in the country. Again, all I have followed so far have been the results.  I have no clue on the makeup of the roster or what was expected of them.

In other news:

Rowan (+3) at Cortland State this week.  Cortland is 3-0 vs the spread at home this year, while Rowan is 1-2 on the road (0-2 outside of New Jersey.)

My guess is strength of schedule.  Cortland's wins were W Conn, Mville, Montclair, TCNJ...none are world beaters.  It's not until now that they are beating any notables: bport and Rowan.  Now Kean next week.  We might get a sniff or be just on the outside.

Got my post bumped again. >:( About time I got one right. :) In my NJAC Pick Em's I had Cortland home -3.5. I went Cortland straight and with the points. Lost the spread by .5  ::)

The NJAC will be very interesting, but my thoughts are that Cortland wins the NJAC.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

with yesterdays results, my last 3 weeks of travel have become clear.  looks like i will be taking in the last 2 games of the round robin between rowan, cortland, and kean by traveling to kean this weekend for the cortland game and then off to rowan the following week to see the kean/rowan game.  last week of the season has me making my shortest trip of the year, a short 10 mins to see the possible MAC championship game between widener and del val, if they both win the next 2 weeks.  rams, looks like your team is on the road next weekend, maybe you can make it to kean for the game?  the njac gets settled in the next 2 weeks, what is the tie breaker if kean, cortland, and rowan all end with 1 loss?

I've set the spread for the Cort / Kean game and it's Cortland -3.5. IMHO Cortland will win and go undefeated in the NJAC. Rowan wins out and has a good chance for an at large bid. Kean loses their next (2) and then Montclair has a chance for payback if our HC and OC can finally figure things out. I would like to see Montclair run the table. I will be at the B-Port game. Next week are things around the house. Enjoy the Kean game. Cortland wins by 7-10. They are comng on. I'll address your (1) loss scenario f it means something next week.

Actually, Cortland can clinch with a win at Kean next week.  Wesleydad...we had your scenario two years ago with Cortland, Rowan and Montclair all with 1 loss with Cortland beating Montclair, Montclair beating Rowan and Rowan beating Cortland.  The tie breaker, If I remember correctly, was record vs. like opponents (it was a wash) and then it came down to opponents opponents winning percentage.  Cortland won the tie breaker primarily on the strength of the E8 because Cortland played Ithaca.  Keep in mind we only had 1 out of conference game as there were 9 NJAC teams at the time.  I don't remember Montclairs or Rowan's OOC game but their opponent's opponents winning percentage was not as good.  Clear as mud?

wesleydad

rams and cland, thanks for your input.  cland, will you be at the game next weekend?  I always sit on the visitor side at kean since the stands are great for watching the game.  looking forward to the game.  early expectation is that it will be low scoring, will look into it a little further to see if anything changes my mind.

If Cortland beats Kean which  think will happen the only way they lose the NJAC is if they s%#t ther pants.
