Just an FYI - Rowan University will have a brand new, plush, turf field for the upcoming 2013 season. In addition, Rowan will also have a brand new, and very much needed, new locker room/team house for current Rowan players, as well as, visiting teams.

That's great, it's been a long time coming.

I heard a rumor that Montclair got a QB transfer. Is there anything to this?
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Catch Ball / Red Hawks,

What is the story for the Red Hawks in 2013. I would assume that camp has started. Will they scrimage Lackawana as usual? What about the Red / White scrimage? Cruious minds would like to know. "Keep Pounding".

I do not know what to expect from the Hawks this year. The offense was hurt by graduation with only 1 OL returning. Scoppa is back for his senior year but can he be healthy for the entire season is an issue. I havent heard about a transfer qb but even with that coming in right away and knowing the offense will be tough.

The defense should be solid like usual. Special teams was pretty bad last year so I would think the only way would be to imporve in that part.

The schedule times alone are tough. Open up with an away night game, 2 saturday games then two Friday night games down at Rowan and at TCNJ plus over night trips to Morrissville and Brockport(1st 4 out of 5 on the road).  The team will be doing alot of travel.

LVC- loss
Salve Regina- loss
Alfred- win
Rowan- loss
TCNJ- win
Cortland- loss
Morrisville- win
WPU- win
Brockport- loss
Kean- win

I see a 5-5 record. The 1st half of the season is very tough which could lead to a losing season but that is why they play the games. Only games I see MSU a big favorite in are WPU and Morrissville.

Dlip would flip Salve and Alfred. Salve will be down and Alfred looks to be better than last season. We shall see. Dlip loves when the preseason predictions start!

I was going to say the same thing, based on the turn of events over the summer that flip would be appropriate.

Based off the Kean game I thought Buono and Bloon were O-Line juniors. If I correct 2 is better then 1.  ;) I think we will beat Salve and cross our fingers with Leb and Alfred. As far as the NJAC I have us with losses to Rowan and Cort. I think 6-4 is realistic, but one never knows. We used to have fire in our bellies and I have not seen this for a long time. I seems like the past few years we have had an "Oh well attitude" and that starts from the Top. Where are the fiesty Red Hawks I used to know. It's time we start getting pissed-off and not pissed on. >:(

Pep's Saxons were marred by mid-season injuries in 2012 and, nevertheless, were close to taking the E8 crown...had they jumped on one more fourth quarter fumble at Salisbury. The road weary Saxons the next week limped up to Utica and, in the opening offensive drive that ended in a missed field goal, starters of at least four skill positions were lost to injury.

AU rebounded with wins over Frostburg and Hartwick before falling to a rising Springfield Pride team, on the Saxons' seventh road trip of the year, in an ECAC bowl.

Pep is looking forward to the Red Hawks' visit to Merrill Field....it will be a true test for AU as Pep is fully aware of Montclair State's stellar defense.

Get the fight song ready!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

With Brockport being the Dark Horse in the NJAC and now with a new stadium. I have to reconsider if they should be #3 or tied for #2 in the NJAC, especially since they have the teams ranked above them at home.

The question is - How many points can we score? The "O" is very Jeckle and Hyde. Now a new QB to emerge.  ::)
