Rams, are you making the trip to PA this weekend??

My Mom passed away today. She was in assisted living in NJ. Made the arrangements to get her back to PA which will happen tomorrow. Viewing Thursday and Funeral Friday. I'll be looking out for the Red Hawks on Sat night. See ya at the Train Station next week for the Salve game and hopefully go 2-0.
Dave,
Just saw this, so sorry for you loss, prayers going out for you and your family.

Bloody Saturday for the NJAC.  Cortland young.  Inexperience showed yesterday.  I don't expect to see them in the mix this year but I will put WR Babin up against any in D3.  He's just a flat out stud.

MSU Pride

Tough loss for my Red Hawks, that game literally went down to the wire, LVC is a good team, I see a lot of promise with MSU though, kind of reminds me of our 2003 season when we lost opening day against Springfield and went on a 10 game winning streak. They are big, with some play makers on both sides of the ball, if they tighten up a few things and the QB develops, this could be a fun year!

Watched a lot of the game on the web. The "D" good as always. I was impressed with the "O" in the first half. They really mixed things up. I was very excited. We took the lead and in the 3rd quarter. What happened to the creativity in the 4th quarter. Typical Montclair. Play not to lose. They kept blitzing from their left side a lot. Most likely a 2nd half adjustment. We hed the ball with 5 minutes left, 3 runs and out. No short passes against the Blitz. ::) Play not to lose, and guess what, you probably lose. Feel bad for the kids. I think the Coaching blew it again. The kids played real hard for 60 minutes. Good to see. I also think the QB will develop. I think they deserved better, but if the queen had balls she would be the king. A better start than last year. Let's come away with a big "W" next week against Salve at "Sam Mills Field. See Ya there.

Looked like Kean really struggled on the run but passed well in their first game. Should make things interetesting for next week.

UMHB stuffed the run, gave up one big pass play for 98 yds, but overall did really well on D in the red zone. Committing 4 TO's, the Cru will need to put points on the board when given opportunities: 1 fumble on 2yd line and two INT's given up in the EZ. Seeing how many rushing yards were given up by Kean, I expect a heavy dose of that from the Cru.

Should be interesting.  I hope y'all have a better video feed.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Tough day overall for the NJAC.

Cortland losses to Buff State. Is Buff State for real or do they just show up for the big games? Time will tell. Cortland will bounce back against WPU.

Rowan up big but then losses to Del Val. Very tough loss to take. Matchup vs Framingham State in Week 2 in my opinion won't be an easy win but I see them winning.

Morrisville showed some fight against Wilkes but they could be the West Conn of this year.

WPU nice win on the road and are on the road again for Week 2. Get 2-0 and then have to travel to Cortland.

Kean got out played vs Albright. Now they face Mary Hardin Baylor. 0-2 seems likely but give them credit for scheduling tough teams again this year.

TCNJ- even with the loss, to lose the OC and then HC right before the season is tough. They should become a solid team as the year goes on.

Brockport- Very convincing win against a Lycoming team that was picked to be a quality team this year. I like how their schedule plays out with Kean, Rowan, MSU and Cortland all at home.

MSU- tough loss against an average LVC team with what I saw. It has been said numerous times the defense will be solid and keep them in every game which they did yesterday. In terms of the offense predictable as usual. Follow the fullback and there is the ball. With their 5 WR package you cant always try to throw hots and slip screens because LVC sacked and knocked down balls numerous times. If you ran some QB draws out of that it would slow down the defense or some jet sweeps then fake the jet then throw the screen. There needs to be some misdirection. Team needs to regroup when they face Salve at home who had a solid opening victory.

Looks like it was a tough weekend for the NJAC, a lot of close games, could have easily been a great week for the NJAC. Appears the Brockport is off to a good start again this year. Good matchup this upcoming weekend for Golden Eagles, looking forward to the game this weekend.

Just a minor nitpick, but it really wasn't a "robbery".  A robbery usually infers someone was put in fear or violence was used.  This was a theft.

Thanks. I've been out of the newsroom for several years now and I miss having those kind of discussions about the nuances of words. We didn't deal with robbery vs. theft on the sports desk much.

I've made the correction on the page but can't change the URL.

Appreciate the intel on the difference.

So what does the weather look like this weekend for the UMHB game? Any insights into how Kean is feeling this week coming off of their loss and hosting UMHB. Anyone watch the UMHB game? If so, your predictions? Feelings?
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Very nice looking stadium at Kean University. I wish I could make the trip to come see it in person. Will Kean provide a video feed? Do they have a good system to provide a quality video feed?

The weather will be 69 and Sunny. Nice day for a game. As far as Kean, they should be worried, but thats why we play the game.
