Montclair "D" & Special Teams  17    Salve Regina  16

If I was not there I would not believe what I am reading. (5) first downs and (109) Total Yards. You Gotta be kidding me. The "O" Coordinator either has to start getting creative or resign. I have been following MSU for (13) years and the past (3) years of offense have been horrible. And don't use the excuse that the "O" line and QB are young. Year after year, this becomes tiresome. I was screaming so loud at the "O" coordinator I thought I would get bounced out. Funny thing the other fans agreed. There is now way we can beat a quality team with this vanilla "O". May God Bless and protect our "D". There is still time to wake up. I hope we do it.

Great game Kean! Y'all really had me worried there for the first half! Your D was stout and our O looked paltry. Surprised me going in to the second when The Cru brought in a sophomore at QB. He looked good against your D. Good luck the rest of the way!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

They have been re running the Buff St Brockport game on Time Warner Sports . It's worth a watch. Exciting even if you know the score. Look for Buff St's "quad no backs" set they ran an entire series. Never seen that before. It's probably on once a day.

Good morning all.  Hoping to see an improved Cortland team coming out of the bye.  Also hope for a better NJAC performance this week.  The composite OOC record is not good, in fact it's pretty bad and I have to question the health of the league.  Feel free to disagree.

Things aren't looking to good for the boy's right now, down to Alfred 30 - 10 at the half.  Not looking good on D or O. geez

The Cortland score is not leaving me with a warm nor fuzzy feeling right now! A win is a win....when its over,... but I figured this game would not have been close.
Taste It!

It did not appear to be a fun Saturday afternoon in Mayberry. By looking at the stats the score 1az 10-13 with 7 minutes left in the 1st half. By the end of the 1st half it was 10-30.  32 yards total rushing and time of possession  21-39.  :o This may be a long long year for the Red Hawks. Right now I am hoping for 5-5.

The NJAC seem to be down this year. A nice test for B-Port this week vs Alfred, and we will see what Cortland is really about @ Fisher this week. That being said it's only week #4. The top teams S/B Rowan, Cortland and B-Port. Only 1 will come out of the NJAC this year.

Any comments ?

3 interesting matchups this week with Alfred vs B-Port: Brockport at home should be able to pull out a W. Prior to the season I mentioned their favorable schedule with tough games at home.

SJF vs Cortland- Cortland has 5 very tough road games including this one. I am leaning towards SJF in this one. Cortland defense has not been impressive yet.

Rowan vs MSU- A friday night road game for the Hawks puts them in a very tough spot. The offense has been terrible putting the defense in tough situations. It could get ugly real fast down at Rowan.

The days of just lining up and coming right at you don't work unless you have a very dominant o-line. As other team's offenses evolve why would a recruit want to go to the MSU style of offense?

Overall NJAC picture- I wouldn't be surprised if the winner of the conference has a tough time even getting a top 4 seed in the east. I do not see 2 teams getting in as of today.

What's Cortland's deal at QB? Week 1, they throw for 400 yards, and this week a different QB runs for 200? This seems like a strange switch, even for a Cortland program that seems like it hasn't had a stable QB position since J.J. Tuthoweveryouspellit was behind center. Was there an injury? And if it IS an injury, and Tyler #1 is out for awhile, what does it mean for Babin? Can't like a receiver as unstoppable as Babin catching one ball for six yards. Turns a weapon into a diversion

And what of this offensive line? 10 sacks allowed in two games after allowing just 16 in 11 games last season. Cortland was  ineffective running the ball in Week 1 as well. Excluding sacks and the opening play of the game, there were 20 carries for 37 yards. Was the QB move made to get mobility to counter a weaker O-line?

This is one of the games I have been looking forward to all season. Fisher has looked very solid so far, but Cortland should be another good test. Like Bombers, I am wondering what is the deal with the Cortland Offense. Should Fisher expect one QB or the other, and which offense do they prepare for?
GO FISHER!!!

In terms of the Oline. Cortlands OL coach from the past few seasons is now the OL coach at Brockport. Steve Potter. He walked into a pretty good situation at Bport with 3 3 year starters returning up front for Brockport. This is 2 seasons in a row Brockport has hired away coaches from Cortland. Brockport football staffing/budget is pretty strong evidently. Cortland was not able to retain either coach ( Alex Smith last spring.now replaced by another Cortland coach, Potter.) Alex Smith was a QB/WR guy Brockport hired as their OL coach..but he left in the Spring '12 to go to Syracuse. Then this spring ('13) they dipped back into Cortland again and hired Potter ..he actually was Cortlands  OL coach. Cortland then replaced Potter with a young guy,Billy Castro, who played there..but has never been THE OL coach. Could be a factor.

Montclair at Rowan tonight. Montclair's 1-2 record takes a bit of luster off the game , but a rivalry game nonetheless.
Slight edge to Rowan despite Montclair's very good defense. At home and Montclair has a terrible offense. 72 yards rushing per game and 135 passing a game. Must be able to do more with the talent available in Northern NJ.
