Nice bounce back by Rowan.  Might've knocked Wesley out of a pool b for the first time in what, a decade?

I was thinking the same thing. Now I guess this was the Profs everyone was expecting last week against Morrisville State. I think the Profs might have been looking forward to this game...if they win out, could make it very interesting for At-Larges.
Morrisville is a long trip on two lane roads to the middle of nowhere.

Having graduated from Morrisville in 1976, Pep is familiar with two lane roads around town....but a four-lane highway goes through the middle of downtown Morrisville, which is more than you'll find in Pep's beloved Mayberry. Plus, Morrisville is located only a few miles from the geographic center of New York State. So your "middle" is accurate. "Nowhere" is debatable.

So Morrisville is actually a long trip on a four lane road to the middle of New York state! Now THAT is a sales pitch!  ;)

@d3jason

I must have taken the long way when we went up there in 2007.  :) It just seemed to take forever to get there (was in route 22?) and I was only about and hour further away than Rowan. We actually played them at Colgate that year due to water damage to their field (if I remember that right.) No intent to bash the town (love small towns in NY and PA. I grew up in one), just meant that its a long trip, along with Morrisville's obvious improvement.

Pep spent two years in Morrisville in the mid-70s and from Mayberry (Alfred), it was 150 miles and took 3 hours, even with Pep's lead foot. There is no easy "highway" between the two, what with all the Finger Lakes in between. Pep took the back roads thru such 'burgs as Weston, Burdett, Mecklenburg and Sheds (aptly named) with his 1962 Plymouth Valiant push button automatic with a Slant-6, his first car, purchased for the opening bid of $50 at an estate auction. Back then, Pep could fill his tank for less than $10.

AUPep....the roads around the finger lakes are challenging if you are in a hurry...even today.  Have a daughter residing near Ithaca with her family.  She drove the back roads to Clinton, NY for a football game.  Pretty ride!
Really wanted to point out that your first car must have been out of tune or the NY state taxes got you.  Drove a Dodge Dart with the same engine around Mass. In the late 60's to early 70's.  Could fill the tank for less than 5 dollars :)

Nice! Yeah, Pep was driving the Valiant from 1975-77, and it purred like a kitten but Pep probably put more brake fluid in it than gasoline! Lost my brakes coming into Auburn one time, with three "paying customer" riders along...tried the emergency brake which seemed to cause the car to accelerate. Coming to a "T" in the road with a traffic light, was blessed the light was green, the intersection clear, and, seeing a gas station to the right, made a right turn and, with no oncoming traffic, made a left turn into the gas station, rolled right past the gas pumps and onto a pile of sand, coming to a stop and slammed it into park. Told my riders, "This will only take a minute." Got out my trusty can of brake fluid, lifted the hood, installed said brake fluid...pumped the brakes, and back on the road for the last 50 miles of the trip to Morrisville.

On Saxon Warriors....put the pedal to the metal and don't worry about the brakes!

Congrats to my Dragons for getting on the + side of .500!. Even if we win out, it looks like Brockport takes the NJAC crown. Pending on what teams show up next week, the Cortland /Rowan duel could be a fun one.

Watch the game, Cortland played really good on both sides of the ball and kept TCNJ out of the endzone for the most part of the day. However, I think Rowan still has a good chance. I am looking forward to you guys matchup next weekend, been some close games the last couple years.

Brockport game played out as you might expect. Kean's good defense (plus the weather) kept the Golden Eagles relatively in check. 17 points..under 200 yards passing.
But , as expected, Keans anemic offense could not take advantage. Mystefying to me how these North Jersey college teams can't recruit talent consistently to have even average offenses. Having part time HS coaches running your offense doesn't help either. Kean has nice facilities..how about investing in a full time college OC. Your DC and HC are full time.

4 teams at 1 loss in the conf. Rowan holds the inside track as it has already beaten Bport (if that is the tiebreaker). But they must get past Cortland this week. Ironically Cortland maybe could do themselves and their pride a favor by losing. In their upcoming recruiting battles with Brockport..it would not benefit them to have Brockport claim the NJAC title and head to the NCAA playoffs on their dime. That combined with Brockport's new stadium and athletic center..plus victories over Cortland and a NCAA appearance and conf crown would be a recruiting bulldozer for Brockport. Cortland has a better stadium..but this is a "what have you done for me lately" time. Brockport has also outspent Cortland on their own assistant coaches two years in a row.

@d3jason

Wondering about the status of Rowan's starting QB? The back up, McCarty, came in and played out of his mind against Wesley. His numbers were more modest this past Saturday.

Did Montclair double their offensive output for the season this past weekend?   8-)

Big day for NJAC tomorrow. 4 teams have 1 conf loss and they play each other Sat.
Brockport at TCNJ  2 rookie HCs battle. TCNJ's top D gets tested by Bports offense. I'm going with Brockport because I believe they have better athletes and TCNJ's O is horrid.
Cort at Rowan.  If Cortland wins it opens the door for Brockport to win the conf. If Rowan wins they have the inside track to win the conf since they beat Bport.
I predict Rowan to win at home. Their D could be the diff even though not as tough as in the past. Neither is Cortlands.

A big win for Brockport today 14-3 over TCNJ. Now hoping for a Cortland victory. 10-9 Rowan at the half.
