I guess I'm getting a birthday present today. We are up 24-10 with 4minutes left in the half. Go to D3Football, then scores and you will get live stats. I guess fairy tales do come true. ;)

Bragging dad time.  The Stalkerette just informed me that she was selected to play taps on the trumpet for her schools Veterans Day program.  She busted her butt to learn it at my request.  We need a real musician at our VFW post to play it for events instead of using a recording.  Good job kid.

Congratulations! +Knightstalker! That's awesome! While on the topic of boasting, Pep has maintained since getting the band revived in Y2K that even if it takes him singing the National Anthem, Pep will NOT subject a Merrill Field (and now, Yunevich Stadium) crowd to a canned rendition of the National Anthem. In fact, Pep heard several compliments on the National Anthem performed as a tuba solo by Scotty Tuba Saturday prior to the Salisbury game.

Stay tuned!

Congrats to her. And for your urging. I played trumpet at one time and it was difficult for me..I can respect someone learning the instrument and then have the steady courage to stand in front of others and play such a striking..haunting song loudly and clearly.
This is a legitimate question however...nothing to do with what you just mentioned. It just entered my mind after reading it.
The question is...why is taps being played on Veterans Day ? My understanding of the holiday is that it to honor living veterans.
Isn't Memorial Day  to honor those who have died serving our country.  Just curious. I wouldn't expect to hear taps at a veterans day ceremony.

They do it at the end of the ceremony when they name the Veterans who passed away during the past year.

Brockport has no bragging rights in this game. Since they I believe they have lost every NJAC game to Montclair and even the one around 9/11 in 2001. Brockport was an NCAA playoff team that year. That is about 7 in row..I could be wrong.
Soo..this is possibly Brockport's best chance to beat Montclair..it is their last shot as an NJAC member  and they are at home and are 5-3 and Montclair is 3-5.
What is working against them is that Montclair seems to have come alive the last 2 weeks..scoring some points and winning 2 in a row.
TCNJ's defense held Brockport's offense in check somewhat (only 14 points)..but TCNJ has the best D in the conf statistically.
Just on paper..I believe Brockport to be the better team. They have suffered some injuries on offense and have weathered them. Their defense is playing better as well.
They have been more of a running team in recent weeks..and Montclair's D is weaker vs run than the pass.
Overall Brockport's offense is still a difference maker..they have been consistently good all year.
It's just that Montclair  doesn't lose to Brockport....that is the elephant in the room.

Re Montclair Brockport.

Looks like 'on paper' won out against intangibles. Brockport with decisive 24-0 victory..beating Montclair handily in their last ever meeting as NJAC rivals.
And as I pointed out abive before the game Montclair's D was weak against the run. Brockport with 4 seniors on the OL plowed the way over Montclair. Brockport's freshman RB had over 200 yards rushing and 8 yards + a carry. Brockports Freshman DLineman who is 6 3 263 had 4 sacks himself.
Brockport's defense has been much improved but the reality is they have faced the 3 worst offenses in the conf last 3 weeks..but have shut them down mostly.
Rowan still holds the inside track on the auto bid.
In the end Montclair's defense got the world of hurt put on THEM...beat down in the trenches..not the other way around as someone "predicted".
