Congrats to Rowan on the win today.

Nice job by Rowan today. You did the NJAC proud. Good luck in Belton, TX.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Excited about seeing a new team in Belton! Hopefully the weather will be a bit warmer next week. If any of you are planning on coming, let us know, we'd be glad to give you some tips on the area.

Congrats to Rowan, I didn't think that they were going to lose, but I didn't think they would keep the Gulls of Endicott of the board. It was a good game and defensively looked very dominant. Endicott offensively was just stale. Good Luck next week at UMHB, rooting for you guys, hopefully you get the win, but I'll take a competitive loss.

Looks like Marcelin is a shifty stud out of the backfield. We'll see how it goes against our #1 run D and Silvio Diaz up front. Passing doesn't seem to be your forte, but we'll see. Should be fun.

To everyone making the trip to the Lone Star State from New Jersey, enjoy your time in Central Texas. Schoepf's BBQ in Belton is pretty good eatin', but don't fill up on it. The CRUthedral has some special food items that are only available at the stadium.

I recommend trying a Cru-dog. It is a hotdog shaped hamburger (best way to describe it) served on a Hawaiian bun topped by cheese. Good stuff. You might want to try the Slovacek Sausage as well. Blue Bell Ice Cream makes a special purple colored homemade vanilla ice cream exclusively for UMHB. Pretty tasty stuff.

Not a lot of hotel choices in Belton. Killeen has quite a few and Temple has added some in the past few years.  Killeen is about a 20/30 minute drive to the stadium, Temple 10/15. Salado is just 10 minutes south of Belton and has a couple of newer hotels - a Best Western and a Holiday Inn Express. Salado is well known for its arts and antique stores. My in-laws live there.

Looks like much better weather this weekend for Rowan's visit to The CRUthedral. The extended forecast is calling for temps to be upper 60s with only a 10% chance of rain. Should be a good day for a second round match-up.

Safe and uneventful travels to all.

I've flown into Austin the last couple of times and stayed around there (Round Rock). If the flight doesn't leave until Sunday morning, Sixth Street there is quite an experience.

Flying into Austin is probably the best bet. It is only about an hour south of Belton. Dallas-Fort Worth is doable, but traffic can be a pain. It is about 2 - 2 1/2 hour car trip if traffic cooperates. Killeen has a nice regional airport (though I think they call it international due to the Army flights connected with Ft. Hood), but will be a little more expensive.

Since the game will be over around 3:00 pm, staying in or around Austin might be the thing to do. There is a lot to do Texas' capital city.

Yee Ha..it's a nice welcome roundup from MHB fans. Well pardners..you won't find many Rowan fans frequenting these boards anymore. Like tumbleweeds through a ghost town.
I'm a Brockport guy.got a few Montclair guys. No Kean or Willy P guys. One TCNJ guy (he's a rascally pardner)...a few Cortland guys..no Morrisville guys  ..and that's about it. Even the x Jersey City State Gothic Knight guy posts more on other boards.
Rowan still is very solid..but they are not the physically impressive..rootinest tootinest team they were 10-15 years ago. They plug along and win games but are not a statistically impressive team.
Not like you cowpokes. You guys run the ball and stop the run..like  good Texans should.

Back in 2006, Pep was somewhat amused by a Rowan poster who said there would be hundreds of fans making the trek to Rochester from New Jersey to see the Professors lecture the St. Johns Fisher Cardinals on the how-to's of NCAA playoff success. Pep attended that game along with AUKaz00 and could count on one hand the number of Rowan fans. And the final score was Fisher 31, Rowan 0.

Unless things have changed, don't expect anyone from Glassboro, NJ to make the trip to Belton, TX.

This was absolutely fantastic.  +k for that.

Also it is nice to see the UMHB folks be so welcoming.  Classy stuff.

+k to you as well Pep for bringing up one of my favorite memories.  I remember the smack talk as well.  It made the shutout victory that much more gratifying.

When I made the trip to see the Rowan v Fisher game, I tailgated with the Doctors who were heckled by a few Rowan fans as they walked thru the parking lot of Haffey.
At halftime when we returned to our festivities, those same said prof fans were leaving to go back to NJ.
A certain Doc, who will be nameless, asked if they were enjoying their time in Rochester.....Needless to say the response rhymed with pluck you......
Stay classy!
Good times!

... One TCNJ guy (he's a rascally pardner)...

Ironically, this rascally pardner IS a transplanted Jerseyan via TCNJ living just outside H-town in The Woodlands, Texas. I'll take MHB and give the poop and yellow 2 TDs.
