Dave,
Hope all is well with you buddy!! Well recruiting has gotten a little harder because it's no longer MSU and Rowan at the top of the Mountain, TCNJ  and Kean certainly are in the middle of the recruiting battles. Also, contrary to what people might think and I'm sure we'll get some type of response from the TCNJ posters, admissions has grown very tough over the years.

OK, you got me, I just couldn't resist. MSU's mean SAT scores are near the bottom of the New Jersey NJAC schools – besting only Kean. And Kean was in deep do-do concerning their Middle States Accreditation not so long ago. Obviously, this SAT score thing didn't sit well with the administration because they've now become the first NJ state school to make SATs optional. A policy that failed at Drew.

With an undergraduate population of over 16,000 and SATs optional, you would think that the admissions office wouldn't become too much of an issue on the gridiron at Panzer College of Physical Education and Hygiene.

I can see that your sniping at Montclair is still pretty sharp. :) To compete with the Princeton of D3 is pretty tough. ::) On a serious note, I hope all is well. Don't know much about Montclair and will have to wait for Pat's publication. Any news on your boys? The beginning of football season breeds hope. Let's see how long it lasts.

Now that is a recruiting (Freshman) class, by guess who. Mount Union.

The freshmen roster is posted in record time this year.  101 total with a noticeable emphasis on PA which is a good thing IMO.

Geographic breakdown:

OH = 43
FL = 17
PA = 14
MI = 5
NY = 4
IN = 3
NC = 2
GA = 2
DE = 2
1 each from CO, CT, MD, NJ, NV, SC, TN, TX, WI

Positional breakdown:

DL = 11
LB = 12
DB = 19

QB = 7
RB = 8
WR = 17
TE = 4
OL = 19
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Rams,
Just having fun with you 'ol MSC Indian fans! I have no idea what's going on with TCNJ. I do know that the golden era of dominating NJAC athletics is over at TCNJ as the current administration doesn't really emphasize academics and athletics as going hand-in-hand. Football and basketball will forever flounder in the lower echelon of the NJAC. It's particularly sad that the men's basketball team has been unable to win a single NCAA playoff game since the 1989 season. Twenty-five friggin' years since Greg Grant & company went to the national championship game, and then ... nothing.

All's well deep in the heart of Texas. After winning the USFA softball world series in Fl. and finishing the year with a 10 month record of 135-3, my youngest tried out for – and earned a spot on the Sudden Impact organization. The head coach also coaches the Woodlands H.S. team that was ESPN National Champs in 2011. Softball is series stuff in this neck of the woods – and gives me something to watch while TCNJ, The Giants, Yankees, Rutgers, Knicks & Devils are stinkin' it up!

Hey be quiet. The yanks won 3 in a row. :) Watched 2 quarters of the MSU/Lackawanna scrimmage. The MSU D was good and as usual the O was suspect. We stillhave2 more weeks before the opener vs Del Val.
Good luck to you boys against UWW. When I got back home I turned  to ESPN and saw shades of Rowan. The game was between Sam Huston and Eastern Washington or maybe Western. The coach of Sam Huston is our friend Casey Keeler. Still has the sun glasses. Maybe you guys can have dinner.  8-) Stay tuned for the pick-em's next weekend.

I was surprised  to see Kickoff having Montclair at 4-6 this year. I don't see them winning the NJAC, but 6-4 or maybe even 7-3 is possible. I'm leaning twords 6-4. When I do the Pick-Em's for the first week I will have Montclair +7.5 / +10.5 at home but not sure yet. Giancola seemed very engaged during the scrimage which was a good sight. If the "O" gets a little creative we may just get lucky and take Del Val out. Stranger things have happened during the first week of the season. The O-Line will be the key. Any comments out there?

As with many teams around the country that good skill guys, it will depend on the line play on both sides. I believe that if Montclair line steps up, then they will be an above .500 team. I will have to wait until the 1st game to comment any further.

Your comment makes sense. We will see after we play a tough Del Val team ranked #52.

One of the big questions for MSU is the progress of Davies the QB has made from last year. I think the RB position will be solid and they return their top 3 receivers. Question on defense is the ability to replace Sakiri and Avento at the LB position and Mancino at the safety position.

I see the NJAC coming down to Rowan and Cortland. Right now I give the slight edge to Cortland since they have Rowan at home.

See ya up on the roof. Looking for a good one at Sam Mills Field. Starting with a "W" would be awsome. Remember the formula:

"110-60 and Keep Pounding."  Let's  Go  Mighty  Red Hawks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, tried to watch the TCNJ / Ursinus game and decided the Lions are all but unwatchable. Down 5-0 to Ursinus in the second quarter with 4 and 12 from the Ursinus 22, the Lions decide to go for it rather than try the 37 yard field goal (presumably because nobody can kick a 37 yard field goal?). Ursinus brings the house, forces a fumble and runs it back 70 yards. Lots O luck against Whitewater...
