Just saw some video from the game last Saturday, and that new surface looks sharp!

As far as the game goes, Wesley made good adjustments in the second half, as CNU was able to take advantage of the secondary at will during the 1st half. I was surprised with how well CNU did rotating QBs. I figured it would mess with their "flow."

Looking for Wesley to get off to a fast start next week in Naperville. I've wanted to see this matchup ever since both NC and Wesley took Mount to the brink back in 2013.

It should be one hell of a game.  Wesley's travel experience will definitely come in handy.  If Wesley plays the game I know it can, they should be able to pull this one out.  I wish I could be there for the game.

Wesley's now got a good weekly highlight video, which is pretty slick.  You can see that second TD pass I thought would be a great play of the week.

My advice: get to the 4th quarter down 28-7.  You'll have them right where you want them.   8-)

Hopefully NCC be be at full strength to welcome our Wesley guests. The Cardinals starting RB was knocked out of last week's game in the 3rd quarter and did not return. Status for Sat is unknown, but you can be sure he'll be in the lineup if it's humanly possible. Also NCC's freshman QB Is still proceeding along the learning curve.
The Cardinals and their fans are very glad for the opportunity to welcome Wesley to Naperville and NCC.

I'm sure you are!  ;)  I know the Cardinals will be pretty fighting mad about the loss to UWP and will be pumped up for the game.  Wesley will have to play mistake free in order to get out of Illinois with a win.

Despite NCC's pre-game notes listing Brown as the starting RB, I wouldn't bet the entire farm on that prospect just yet. Maybe the north 40, but not the entire spread. If he is 100%, or close to it, so much the better for NCC.

I don't think life was that much fun for the members of NCC's defense this week. I sense they've been through some less intense practices in their collective football lives. Whether it be "fighting mad" as Teamski suggested, or POed, they most assuredly will be in a foul mood.  :(

While maybe not in terms of skill level, but in terms of "Where's the beef?" the Wesley O line appears to rival a D1 team in terms of tonnage.  :)

The O line his year might very well be the best Wesley's ever had.  We're seeing some new faces on the squad while the vets have been bulking up, and I was pretty shocked how big they were when I saw them for the first time this year.  We'll see how they work out.  With Jamar Baynard continuing to be the Wolverine's premier back, we should be in for some fireworks this year.

For Wesley fans who have interacted with him for years NNASid was let go from his position. Actually his position was eliminated.  I don't know if he pops in here or not , But Jim if you are out there join us for some good old posts

Bummer. He always did a nice job standing up for those guys and making sure people knew what they were about. Tough job at that school. They fall between a lot of definitions.

I heard about that, and then read it on D3football. I have not had the pleasure of spending much time with Jim. I believe I met him briefly twice - just enough to shake hands. But I remember seeing him on CNU campus a lot. His dad runs the scoreboard for CNU basketball games. He is the guy that holds up the "Media Timeout" sign for the refs.  Everything I know or have heard about Jim and his dad is nothing but top notch. Of course!!! Jim is a CNU grad!! HAHA. I feel confident he will land solidly on his feet in a good place. That seems to happen to the good guys!!!

I have nothing but respect for those guys at NNA. I know 2 of the baseball players who helped them to win their National Championship in the Small College World Series. My son played ball with them back in the day. Once they get into NNA they work 8+ hour days. They get a mix of classroom instruction as well as working the docks learning to be pipefitters or marine electricians and other trades. Then, they go to practice and travel for games. These are the guys that play football on Saturdays, then build nuclear aircraft carriers come Monday morning.

Cheers!
