Wesley's SOS is 49th in the nation after yesterday, but I'm sure it will take a hit vs. WP.

Not enough to lower it to poor levels.  They will still be in good shape with the SOS.

dont see this game being close.  Wesley will score 40+ maybe 50+.  The gulls will move the ball but do not have the horses to outscore Wesley.  20+ point win and on to Willy P.  Looking for Rowan to win so they get ranked.  expect St Lawrence to beat Hobart and Alright to beat Stevenson.  The next 2 weeks will be interesting around the nation to see who moves up or down.

Since the video feed crapped out yet again (somebody needs to send the A.D. a few bucks to bring that broadcast into the 21st Century) you have to explain in detail......what the hell happened today!!!!!

What happened was one team got all they could out of their game and one team left plenty on the field.  Wesley beat themselves today.  A holding penalty cancels a TD.  A missed field goal.  A Callahan fumble after a nice run at the 10.  A dropped pass inside the 10 on the last drive.  Too many mistakes when your defense can not stop the other team enough to overcome the mistakes.  The O line is not good enough and Callahan has to make too many plays on his own.  He is that good.  The linebackers are not good enough and were exposed on both runs and passes today.  That is not different than many of the other games this year.  In the end you have to make plays and Wesley did not and Salisbury did make enough to win.

I'll take your word, but from what I saw, SU kicked your boys in the teeth, and they didn't respond...
No emotion in the 2nd half....
They looked beat...and one dimensional.

Not good

Look at the box score.  Wesley led or was tied the entire second half until the late field goal.  Not sure about no emotion.  Salisbury did all they could do and won by 3.  They had the ball 12 mins more than Wesley did.  They were outgained by close to 150 yards.  Wesley lost the game on the scoreboard which is all that matters.  If they play again I would gladly take Wesley based on what I saw today.

I'm going to go back and see if the video is available on replay.  I watched about 2/3rd of the game (my video feed kept dropping).

I think I have some points id like to make, but really can't because I didn't see the whole game...

Don't get me wrong, I feel Wesley is the class of the East, (by far), and hope they do well...

Frankly I am hoping for the day they put all the pieces together and get to the Stagg,  but based on what I saw yesterday, and also against Rowan, I have doubts that this year they can get past quarterfinals....

I have already said the defense is not good enough to win the Stagg.  It would depend on who they play in the quarterfinals.  The way it looks now is that the east teams will be with Mount which means a trip to Alliance if you want to make the semis.  This team is not close to last years on defense and you saw what Mount did last year to them.  I think there are some teams that they could beat if the play them, it will all be matchups.  I expect that they will get a chance to play Salisbury again in round 2 unless one of them get put in the south/west bracket that Linfield is likely to be on top of.  The offense is better than last year and with Callahan playing the way he is playing they always have a chance to score.  The O line is also not good enough.  Getting beat in a regional final is no shame.

The way things are shaking out in the south and the eastboth those brackets may have outsiders seated 1st.  So I would think that the brackets could really be interesting with the NCAA frowning on flights.

I was as disappointed as anyone was with the loss yesterday but in my twenty plus years of attending Wesley games I amore disappointed in the way some of the parents have acted throughout the year.  Yesterday was the worst. How can you start yellin negatively from the firstplay. It's not bad enough that you scream at the coaching decisions buy to call out players numbers and offering that stink and should be removed from the game is way out of line. I heard this from two people who sons graduated a few years ago and show up to one game a year. And please don't tell me that these kids don't tell me they don't hear I know they do. There has always been one or two parents grumbling in the stands but it has gotten so much worse it's rediculous.  They should all be embarrassed.

I constantly hear this guy while i'm in the box doing stats. Can't say how many times we joke about getting that guy a pair of headsets so he can coach the team. I think he was the same guy yelling from SU's first play about false start. He didn't understand that backs can go in motion. Didn't hear anything truly derogatory though. No swear words, even for the officials, so there's little anyone can do about it. Some people just can't help but flaunt their ignorance.

Although I agree that the Wesley crowd can be a bit fickle these days. They like to have comfortable leads so they can just sit back, chit chat, and watch the big plays. I guess years of success can do that.

I think this set back will focus this team for next week and beyond. Go Wesley.

I hear nothing like that on the other side of the stands.  Other than me and Dad and the other regular talking they generally just cheer.  Way different than when the boy played.  Certainly not G rated back then.  There are several players that I think are over matched on the field and I share that with Dad, but I am not going to be hollering out the number.  I agree.  Get an idea of what is going on.  If you are now just a fan as opposed to a parent, shut up or just cheer or stay home.

CNU85

At the CNU games there people that sit behind me who have no clue what is going on. Every game. I'm not even sure why they come to games. This week's conversation....what beanie babies their dog sleeps with. On a safety, they were freaking out when the free kick was from the 20. They were wondering when that rule was changed from kicking from regular kick off spot. I wanted to turn around and say "1922". But they were busy chatting with their British accented guests.

I was annoyed beyond belief. They chatted about stupid stuff all game that had nothing to do with what was going on in the game.

Oh...the most noise they made was when the ROTC guys were shooting T Shirts into the stands.

GO HOME!!!!

What was your take on the holding calls. The refs let calls go al day and then one reference calls 4 in 4 plays one if which was 30 yrs behind the play..I think that the refs allowing Coach Woods to come on to.the field play after play to complain finally intimidated that one ref

Does anyone know if the conference has its own officials. I don't recall seeing any of the officials more than once

Found it rather coincidental.  All came from the Salisbury side of the field.  Woods gets away with way more than most coaches do.  He is out of control and should be flagged more than once a game for just pure stupid histrionics.  The penalties all came on big plays by Wesley.  Hard to argue since the O line was getting beat more than that drums in the band at half time.  Salisbury should have been called for a hold on almost every scramble by their QB.  I have never seen more shoulder pads exposed on D lineman than I did Saturday.  No matter, if they play again Wesley will win.  The gulls did almost everything right and still only won by 3.
