Of course my feed flickers in and out now.

8 seconds left. Frostburg with the ball at the 39. I posit that they need only 10-15 yards to get a field goal.

Div3Fan

They are forced to take the field goal from the 39. 56 yard field goal.

NO GOOD.

Salisbury wins a thriller.

Down 20-0 at halftime.

Crud......  Salisbury pulled off the comeback.....  Congrats on grabbing the NJAC......

Salisbury wins...Wow what a game, hats off to Frostburg, they gave them everything for a half and some. Salisbury WR is definitely the player of the game, he deserves a sticker for his performance.

We wouldn't have been able to see if the kick was good or not based on the camera, lol. Well done by the Gulls! Great resolve to storm back and get into the field of 32. With Alfred losing, Wesley looks to be the lone pool C bid from the Eastern region.

Amazing that the regular season is over already.  Looking forward to the playoffs figuring Wesley will be likely in.  With how weak the east region looks I figure Wesley will have a rather ho hum first round opponent.  After that it is anyone's guess.  Get to the quarters and then who knows.  Get the right match up with this offense and they can out score teams.  The defense still worries me.

How do you not double cover Salisburys best reciever on 4th and 15. So what if they run for a first down but to give up a 60 yrd play is bad coaching

I've noticed a trend at all levels of college football that 3rd and 4th and longs seem to be increasingly converted. It really irks me. It seems like no defenses can get off the field and it really frustrates me. That's why I'm really impressed these days when I watch a team that has actual good defense.

This seemed to be the case with Union all year long and again in yesterday. To hear that it is happening elsewhere is bizarre.

Dlip agrees pg.04 excellent defenses are to be admired in today's game for sure.

There has been some hubbub over this for awhile. Most kids want to grow up and play offense. Most coaches put there best athletes on the offensive side of the ball. And it all coalesces into subpar defenses at the high school and collegiate level.

Some internet publication did a more in-depth look at D1 recruiting. They looked at the position top recruits played in HS, and what they ended up playing in college. Most ended up on the offensive side of the ball.

I'll try to find the article... may have been rivals.com or something

College football is much more geared towards offense, it's the current zeitgeist which is also reinforced by the newer rules.

Show me a good defense and I'll show you a coach that has properly distributed his players.

PA_wesleyfan

I agree. Seems like a lot of teams are puttin up some big numbers
But the coach can put his players in a spotwhere they have a chance to make the play. Yesterdays play that won the game for Salisbury was with 3 min left and no times outs.if they give up 15 or twenty on the play it's gonna run the clock down. That defender was getting beat a lot . I guess that's the strategist in me.

Crap.  A lousy seed. Wesley has to go through Johns Hopkins to play Mount Union in the quarterfinals.  Wesley really hurt themselves this year with that loss.......
