I was initially planning to make the trip to the Stagg Bowl. But now am trying to find a bar that has ESPNU in Newport News.

Found one!

Nice to have some conversation on the very long 8 month dead period...

Congrats to Joe Callahan and Wesley football. Callahan is a class act, a gamer, and a super talented kid. He has made some huge plays, and I have enjoyed watching him from afar. Could not have gone to a better player.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I never want to hear how weak the east is again.  UST is no better than Wesley.  They had several gift TDs tonight.  They left nothing on the field.  Wesley may have left 14 - 21 point on the field.  I saw nothing tonight that tells me that Wesley would not beat UST.

Pretty high and mighty on the transitive property game there. Not a good look. these arguments are a big time reach. At the end of the day both got worked on D and scored some points. Wesley had a great squad but playing this game is fools gold.

UST had wins much superior to any wins that Wesley had.  Don't focus ONLY on the UMU game.  (UWW also had wins much superior to any that Wesley had.  I AM strongly considering Wesley for #4, but definitely no higher.)

Fine with that, but there is not much difference in the 3 to me.

I gave up on this fight long ago. Even the years Wesley  made it to the semis they didn't get the respect. Only once were they left in the top 4. Sour grapes maybe but until the West and North play Wesley a few more times I  guess we'll never know. Other than Mount and UWW, Wesley has beaten every other team they've played at least once that they have played over the last 10 years.

Pawesley, just having fun with it.  I know they wont be ranked in the top 4 or not likely to be.  The lose to Salisbury is bad in the end, but after watching the playoffs there is little doubt in my mind that they are a top 5 team and would have been competitive against any team this year.

I think the score of that matchup would be something like 63-56 with the winner being whoever had the ball last.  Mr Mom would probably make the game a pickem on a neutral field or maybe UST giving 1.5 at most.

Well, I guess that's it then.   :'(  Another football season come and gone.  Wesley falls in the quarterfinals and yet we have an historic year with Joe Callahan with his well earned Gagliardi trophy.  I wish all of you a very safe holiday season.  Next year will in no doubt be of major interest: A new QB, a returning group of exceptional skilled position players and hopes for an improved defense.  We had a lot to be proud of this year.  I think Wesley was able to get as far as it could and it didn't simply fold against Mount Union.  The NJAC fundamentally changed everything for Wesley and its fans,  Each year, we can expect the level of competition to be a challenge for Wesley to overcome.   You can't ask for any more than that!

I get that WesleyDad is interpreting the games thru blue colored glasses, but I wouldn't put Wesley in the same category as UWW and UST.  Yes, Wesley has a stud QB but there line play is still a notch or 2 below championship caliber.

And I can't get past how easily Mount put 49 on the board in the first half.  Yes, Wesley scored more than UWW did but the game was never in doubt after the first 10 minutes whereas UWW made Mount work for ever yard they got and it wasn't until late in the 4th before Mount put it away.

I think Wesley is a really talented, dangerous team.  Just a tier below Mount,  UWW and UST.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Actually, Wesley was still in the game with over 6 minutes left having drawn within 14 points in the 4th quarter and the game wasn't over until MU ran the ball in with 6 minutes left.  None of the 35 points that Wesley scored would be considered garbage time scores.
