Watching the highlights, I am just beside myself with giddiness. I can't help but giggle like a little girl.  It seemed like yesterday when Joe showed up in practice as a freshman and all I could hear from Coach Knapp was how good this kid Callahan was going to be.  I distinctly remember myself thinking "yeah, shia....who could possibly replace McSweeny?"  Now I am watching him throw a TD pass at Lambeau field.  For my Packers nonetheless!  Absolutely nuts!

Wow , very impressed with Callahan....If the Packers don't keep Joe, we could use a good backup on the Giants after Nassib's unimpressive performance....no question he will be in the NFL....the Packers may have hit the free agent  lottery.....

This is the new home of NJAC discussion. Welcome aboard, everyone.

Hello EVERYONE. My first time on here. Forgive me if I don't say much. I'm still learning about the NJAC conference
and all the teams in it. #GoGulls

Welcome, +k! Sorry dlip was hard on the Gulls earlier. He actually is a HUGE fan of the triple option and as a result has always rooted for the Gulls and the Pride of Springfield to have success. He knows last years win over the Wolverines was huge! Dlip just feels that Wesley should still be picked to sit at the head of the table and eat all the Chic-fil-a they want. Wishing the Gulls all the luck here in 2016!

Welcome to year 2 of the new NJAC. It's exciting.

Looks like Hundley will start tonight for Green Bay.  That said, we should see Callahan on the field at some point.  Once again, excited to see number 6 out there.  Go get 'em Joe!

Alright!  Joe played starting in the 2nd quarter after Hundley re-injured himself and was 9/17 for 65 yards and 4 rushes for 23.  Not bad at all.  Lead another scoring drive as well.  I will have to wait until Saturday to watch it, though.....

Joe played well after he got over the early game jitters. A few drops hurt him by Montgomery and Squirewell, and Oakland's Khalil Mack introduced himself to Joe very "politely." He also showed off his scrambling ability. It was nice to see him keeping his eyes down field and throwing more to the edges of the field. Seems to be his job to lose as far as the 3rd string QB goes.

I agree. I can't see Joe being released at this point.  The announcers were impressed with his ability to scramble and throw the ball on the run.  Williams was more interested in running than throwing and that was obvious.  That scoring drive was excellent.  The fact that Joe is getting a lot more playing time than Williams is pretty telling.

Western PA Football

Seen this posted today on the Mid Atlantic Conference board:

Less than two weeks from now on Sept. 2, the DVU Aggies will be in Dover playing Wesley.  Should be a good game - any comments, trash talk, anything???  It'd be great if this weather broke.  Good luck to ALL the MAC teams in this 2016 season!!!

Sure, I'll play!  Del Val sucks.  Happy now?  :)

Naw, it should be a good game.  Del Val always has a good team each year.

Wesley will beat DV by at least 2-3 TD's. I think the better game will be SU and Albright. SU ran through Albright in 2014, and was poised to do the same in 2015 when Albright came back by ~3 td's in the fourth quarter. This 2016 matchup should be quite interesting.

With McCarthy, not really...

If you watched the two GB game broadcasts, they've been consistent in commenting why Callahan is getting the majority of the PT over Williams. JC was signed by the Pack early in the spring and went through all the mini-camps and preseason stuff around GB during the spring; Williams was signed at the end of May/early June, so he missed out on all that important time.  You can say he's still in the initial information download mode. Rich Gannon has made that point over and over again. He said it again the other night. However, with that said, the fact that JC has been able to move the team offensively for scores (against 1's and 2's much of the time), without turning the ball over or making the obvious, rookie mental mistakes to the naked eye is a big factor in his continuing early PT IMO. Most UDFA QB's never get this kind of look.

Per ESPN, Hundley may sit this week to keep healing his ankle, which means more time for Joe. Im sure A Rod may play a few drives this week, then Joe will get another extended opportunity of exposure.

SU scrimmage went OK. The offense performed in typical fashion: run, run, run, big pass, run, big run off the pitch. Defense looked lost and got blown off the ball for awhile, but they did eventually settle and seemed to contain WU. Too many personal fouls on both sides though. It was quite disappointing.

Any word on CNU/Wesley scrimmages?

Wesley's scrimmage is tomorrow night.  Don't know who they are going up against.  Who did SU go up against?
