NJAC 206 Pick EM'S For Week #1 Are Posted On The Pick EM Board. Good Luck To All. ;D

That's a toughy for the year 206, but here goes:

In the East, I'll take:
The Han Dynasty over the Qins by 35...(let's face it, the Qins were great lining up, but they were too rigid...)
In the Mid West, I'll take
The Persians over Syria by 10
The Parthian Empire over the Kingdom of Hatra by 7 (Kingdom of Hatra would dominate the Partians in Soccer for years though)...
And in the West, I'll take:
The Romans over the Barbarians by 42  (The Barbarians had a great ground game but no aerial attack...)

....Sorry, couldn't resist...

Having watched Ali Marpet reach his NFL dream last year, I am rooting for Joe C to make the huge  leap under greater pressure and odds to backup AR and get on the Packers roster....the more realistic result will be hanging with the Packers as a non roster third stringer.....but , no matter what is decided before final cuts, he has some great experience and film demonstrating the skill and the will to have an NFL career......Wesley fans should be even prouder with the way he has conducted himself with the media and his team.

Stopped by Montclair State yesterday to watch their scrimmage, not bad, they have a good mix of vets and some younger potential studs at some key positions. If they can put it all together, I would certainly not rule out them making some serious noise this year.

Probably should transfer the Callahan talk to the DIII players in the NFL thread at some point, but here is some great talk on Joe.  First one is on the Packer fan forum.  Neat to see non- DIII folks talking up Callahan.  He is really impressing my home state folks!

https://www.packerforum.com/threads/callahan-this-preseason-star.68547/

Then we have ESPN talking about his impact as well, even on Rodgers:

This really is fairy tale stuff come true.

I expect we will see a lot of Jamar Baynard on Friday night as well as a lot of passes that get WRs Bryce Shade and Alex Kemp in open space. Robert Wiggs adds even more speed to that mix.

Researched a few interesting transfers on Wesley's roster:
QB Khaliiq Burrows who I think is from a JUCO school
DB Nick McDaniels from Merrimack
TE Ameer Watson from Del State
OT Darren Helwig from Del State

Interesting!  A couple FCS transfers.  I did not know that.  Yeah, I expect a real fluid game plan as Coaches continue to tweak all of the new moving pieces on both sides of the ball.  It will be a really interesting game with a ranked Del Val that will be spitting for a fight.  Night games always rock anyways.

I defended Wesley when a few people were calling them the "Rowan of the 90's". NOBODY will ever get the trophy from K.C. Keeler and how he landed the DI, DI-AA and D-II transfers back in the day!! :)

I've got my fingers crossed for Joe, especially with him being South Jersey boy!! It feels like what Doylestown and Philadelphia were going through this time last year with Rasheed Bailey. I'm hoping that Bailey gets a chance to stick with the Chargers but there are so many WR's out there that it's a coinflip as to whether he makes it or not. Canada might be calling! Back to Back years in the Philly/NJ/DE corridor...........pretty cool.

Wesley will beat DV by at least 2-3 TD's. I think the better game will be SU and Albright. SU ran through Albright in 2014, and was poised to do the same in 2015 when Albright came back by ~3 td's in the fourth quarter. This 2016 matchup should be quite interesting.

Given what they have coming back on offense, I'd be stunned if Wesley doesn't win by 25-30 points!!

Seen this posted today on the Mid Atlantic Conference board:

Less than two weeks from now on Sept. 2, the DVU Aggies will be in Dover playing Wesley.  Should be a good game - any comments, trash talk, anything???  It'd be great if this weather broke.  Good luck to ALL the MAC teams in this 2016 season!!!

A newbie with two posts and this being the second..............do I smell a troll?? It's been a while since we've had one. ;)

Just picked up Kickoff.  Plenty to read.  Wesley seems to be prepared to handle the loss of Callahan.  Whichever QB starts they need to not turn the ball over and let the play makers do what they do.  I will be interested to see how the defense does.  They left some things to be desired last year and I hope that the LBs play better.  Looking forward to the game Friday.  Since Del Val tends to be a thorn in Wesley's side, I don't see Wesley blowing them out.

Just planned out my season, here it is.

GAMES FOR 2016
WEEK 1   DEL VAL AT WESLEY ON FRIDAY         ROWAN AT WIDENER ON SATURDAY
WEEK 2   FROSTBURG AT WESLEY
WEEK 3   MONTCLAIRE ST AT SALISBURY AT 1200         WESLEY AT CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT AT 600
WEEK 4    OFF, TRIP TO RENFAIRE
WEEK 5   HAMPDEN SYDNEY AT BRIDGEWATER
WEEK 6   SALISBURY AT ROWAN
WEEK 7   WESLEY AT KEAN
WEEK 8   WESLEY AT ROWAN
WEEK 9   MONTCLAIRE ST AT WESLEY
WEEK 10   WESLEY AT SALISBURY
WEEK 11   DEL VAL AT WIDENER
WEEK 12   PLAYOFF GAME      HOPEFULLY WESLEY
WEEK 13   PLAYOFF GAME      HOPEFULLY WESLEY
WEEK 14   PLAYOFF GAME      HOPEFULLY WESLEY
WEEK 15   PLAYOFF GAME      HOPEFULLY WESLEY
WEEK 16   STAGG BOWL      HOPEFULLY WESLEY

The double header in week 3 is doable if I leave the Salisbury game in the 4th quarter.  I can get to CNU in under 3 hours from Salisbury.  It is in the plans, but as usual things may change.  Need to get to Bridgewater this year to hopefully see my Stone Station friends.  Plenty of nice games to see with a couple of walks to Widener to keep the mileage down.  If one of the playoff games means another trip to Mount, yes I will be crazy enough to go again.  I am pretty sure that I will be returning to the Stagg Bowl after a 2 year hiatus.  Time for a little football.

I may go to the Widener/Rowan game.   If the weather is bad, I definitely will be there (because the wife won't be dragging me elsewhere...).   If so, I'll be wearing the black Nebraska hat with the Red N...
