Getting ready to head off to Dover for the Wesley game with Del Val.  Looking forward to see how the offense goes this year.  No stud QB so the star players will have to get it done.  Del Val brings a pretty good offense so the defense will have to play well.  I expect Wesley to win, but I am not sure it will be as easy as some have mentioned, Del Val has always played Wesley tough.

Cnu85 and Wesleydad
I am staying over after the game, would appreciate dining/pub ideas and company afterward.

Send me a PM when we get closer. I know all the spots.

Jason, if I make the trip I will also be staying over since a 5 hour return trip at 9 at night after an all day double header would probably not be very smart.  I know there is a, or used to be, nice restaurant with a large beer selection in the mall near CNU.  85 will probably know the name if it is still there.  BWW is also close to the school.  We will be able to find something good.

Indeed!

Penalties and drops are hurting Wesley early.

...and you can tell Joe Callahan isnt out there.

7:20 to go in the 4th. Falkenberg with his 2nd pick in Del Val territory. 21-14 Del Val.

4 INTs by Wesley QBs.... ouch. Over 100 yards in penalties.... double ouch.

Upstate

Super sloppy for Wesley. You'll have a drop off when you graduate a QB as good as you had but they just didn't look good at all offensively.

The views expressed in the above post do not represent the views of St. John Fisher College, their athletic department, their coaching staff or their players. I am an over zealous antagonist that does not have any current connection to the institution I attended.

It was horrible. Looked like the field slanted uphill. And I noticed there wasn't a sideline official with down marker on Wesley side of field. That, along with the the camera slant, made it difficult to see actual field position. No audio. No graphics. Had no idea what was going on. I stared at live stats instead.

Wesleydad (or anybody else who was at the game who can give me a little more than "you can't win turning the ball over five times"........."you can tell Joe Callahan wasn't out there"........"you can't win with 100+ yards in penalties.......etc.)

I wasn't able to sit back and watch the game, when I could tune in the live stats were permanently frozen at the 3:54 mark of the 3rd quarter and my 20 attempts at the video feed produced a 1980's porn-like fuzziness (somebody please let the folks at Wesley know that it really isn't expensive to upgrade technology into the year 2016........like Stevenson, DelVal and most shoestring budget D-III programs).

1. I haven't seen DelVal this year and I know that they lost some key pieces and had to build a new offensive line but what would you say impressed you about the Aggies?
2. Having scrimmaged Albright last week and assuming they don't turn the ball over 5 times, can the Aggies hang with them? Do you think they can contend in the MAC? (the coaches polls are somewhat of a joke I've been told, with some games being played by a few coaches to shine the spotlight of expectations on a specific team or teams). With what they have coming back, Albright should be the clear MAC favorite and actually had 6 first place votes to DelVal's 4.
3. What do you think of the Aggies defense as they are working in about 5/6 new pieces at LB and in the defensive backfield? Is Shawn Miller the real deal?
4. The QB before Callahan (lives out this way) said he thought that 1, maybe 2 of DelVal's defenders would start at Wesley and nobody from DelVal's offense would do so. Did it look like that from an eyeball test perspective or is Shane just a bit off?

Great start to the season for the Aggies............and now I will say that Wesley runs the table, but I'll take the nobody gets within 10 points out of the equation. Kind of like being knocked out in Week One of WIP's Suicide Pool like I was last year!! :)

Brutal technology across the board year in and year out for a national/regional power. Do Drass and the A.D. not have any pull to secure a few thousand dollars to take this out of the 1980's and into 2016? I don't get it. Some alum of the program should just write the check! :)

Heard he wasnt polished enough, but they have to figure something out.

Wesley has plenty to fix if they are going to win the NJAC.  Del Val was better, period.  Offense first drive for a TD and then struggle the rest of the way.  The defense in the first half was poor.  Still don't cover the middle of the field well at all.  The d backs give too much cushion allowing easy completions.  The d line did well with pressure and I am still not impressed by the linebackers.  The offense was pretty boring, hardly stretching the field and when they did the passes were not very good.  I did not understand pulling Falkenburg before the first half was over, if he was the choice he should at least get a complete half before being replaced.  And I did not understand replacing Pesack after he moves the team, but does not get into the end zone.  From what I saw, and the stats also show it, I think Pesack should be the QB.  Falkenburg has happy feet, rarely setting to throw, strong arm, but too antsy.  Pesack looked more in control and other than the interception he threw seemed to have a grasp of the game and makes plays with his feet too.  I did not understand the field goal attempt on 4 and 3 when Pesack had just scrambled for 12 to make it 4th and 3 at the 20 or so.  Go for it, your field goal kicker has not been consistent ever.  If you are good enough you can get the first down and go in and tie the game.  Baynard has to get more than 78 yards and there has to be more running plays for him other than read options.  Settle on a QB and get after it, flipping back and forth is not going to get it done.  Only positive I see is that they can still win the NJAC and get in, but it looks like Salisbury is going to be tough.  I will see Rowan tomorrow so I will see how they compare to Wesley.  Del Val has to be the favorite in the MAC and I don't expect them to give up many points to anyone, defense is physical and challenges receivers and makes tackles on the first hit.  The coaches have plenty to work on and a tough opponent coming in next week in Frostburg.
