Big games in the NJAC this week and no conversation about them.  I like Wesley, CNU, Salisbury, Willy P, and TCNJ.  The weather may mess some games up with high winds being projected.  Wesley seems to have balanced out their offense so not being able to throw the long ball may not hurt them.  I figure Rowan will have to throw to win.  I just can't believe that the team I saw beat Wesley is as bad on offense as they have looked the last 3 games.  I also don't see Frostburg being at that level to beat CNU.  Kean is not very good so the Gulls will roll them.  Willy P should be able to beat So VA.  The TCNJ/Montclair game is interesting.  Montclair is not scoring much and neither is TCNJ.  Going with the upset in this one.

Rain should be over be game time, but the wind will not.  going to be very gusty during the game.  I like Wesley's balanced attack to win this game by 14 pts.

Wesleydad,

I'm thinking you're mostly correct about the games. Perhaps a Willy P mini upset by SVU?
I almost made the trip to Frostburg but it's a bit far for a day trip. So instead I drove up to Chesterfield to watch my nephew play QB for his HS school team. They lost but he ran for 2 scores and threw a pretty 70 yd TD pass.

I have to travel to Rowan tomorrow with the kids high school Marching Band for the state championships.  God I hate Rowan. ;D

IMHO Kesack still needs work with his touch on his passes

wesleydad - Just as I called it over on the MAC board (and you politely disagreed), I didn't think DelVal had a prayer against Stevenson for many reasons, including the weather. Backing out an 11 yard run by the punter, the Aggies have run 28 plays for a grand total of 48 yards.

The only way that I felt that DelVal had even a chance, especially with the wind and rain killing their long passing game (which Gordon backed up has been the weapon this year), was to win the turnover battle. DelVal is down 3-0 in that department including a pick six and a fumble around their own 10 yard line.

Don't call me Swami just yet, but I did pick Stevenson to win it in mid-August, picked them to win this game 34-20, and had the Aggies behind Albright as well..........and just ahead of Widener in 3rd. After this likely loss, I can see them throwing in the towel and losing at Widener the last game of the year.

Talk about making it closer than it had to be. This game should have been nowhere near as close. Just too many missed opportunities on offense to put it out of reach. I was watching the video stream and it seemed Kesack missed a fair share of open receivers and some of the touch on his passes need a little work. For example, on his interception he had an underneath receiver wide open on the same side of the field. The film will show him what he needs to fix though. The Wesley D was impressive for most of the game. #12 Ben Robinson was all over the field.

It would seem also that Wesley has regained control of its own destiny with CNU falling to Frostburg. If they can overcome Montclair and Salisbury in the next 2 weeks, they can get that Pool A bid, eliminating some Selection Sunday drama.

EDIT: Del Val dropped their second game to Stevenson.... so the Pool C waters get murkier, Pool A chances are a little better after today.

Waterboy, do not worry about the touch on the passes, the wind was a mess today.  all passes had to be thrown with some zip on them.  The more concerning thing that you did not see on the video feed is the offense seemed out of sync most of the second half.  This game, other than on the score board was not even close.  Wesley is now in control of their destiny.  Win out and they win the NJAC.  I still dont know how Rowan scored 34 on Salisbury.  Another thing that was probably not seen on the video feed was the number of holding penalties that were not called on #77 for Rowan.  There were plays were he actually tackled #9 for Wesley.  I know there can be holding called on almost every play, but these were really blatant and easily seen.

Baffled.

What has happened to CNU?  The team I saw play Wesley should have trounced anyone they had left to play.  Wesley benefits from the Captains drop off, but I can say that I am really surprised by the turn of events.  No offense at all since the Wesley game.  WOW.

Baffled. Dumbfounded. Clueless.

I'm surprised as well.  CNU just stopped.....  I missed the Wesley game today (spousal support duties) but I checked and was pleased to see Wesley ahead 24-7 at the half and equally dismayed at the lack of scoring in the second half.  Very impressed with Wesley's persistence; something that really isn't surprising as it seems that each year, a kick in the pants really gets the Wolverines motivated.  It is all to go for now!  Well done Wesley.

despite the fact that frostburg keeps winning, it looks like the njac is going to come down to the wesley/salisbury game in 2 weeks if they both take care of business this week.  I still don't know how rowan scored 34 on the gulls.  wesley dominated the game, but when they failed to score in the third quarter let rowan back in it on the score board.  wesley wins out they win the league, no need to worry about pool c.  win tie breaker with frostburg should frostburg win out too, not likely, but who knows anymore.

Had a chance to watch the NJAC this weekend via live stream. I am not sure where CNU offense has went, but they are really struggling now. I think they need to settle down and let their running back carry some of the load instead of relying on the 5 wide and short crossing routes, teams are getting pressure with 4 guys. Frostburg defensive line played very well and the secondary limited the big plays. Watch the Wesley game and really thought you guys were going to run away, but if you allow a team like Rowan to stay in the game, they will find ways to score, which they did. I think the early fumble really hurt them in the beginning of the game, which they wasn't unable to respond until Wesley agressive style of going for it on 4th down bit them in the butt. Rowan defense played well enough other than that one long pass to keep it close until their offense found a way to score. Watch the Salisbury game and other than a great catch in the 4th by a Kean receiver really felt this was the best I have saw out of their secondary against a team that has past the ball, their front seven pressured the QB and the secondary had some good breakups. However Kean could not stop the option at all Salisbury QB and FB played really well. Hope the starting QB for Salisbury is okay, I think he got hurt late in the game.
