I think they would be the at least second ranked C in the region if they beat Salisbury. Better SOS than St Lawrence and a victory chain over Albright (who lost to Salisbury and has 2 losses). They key is the Fisher/Alfred game. If Fisher wins, they are behind Alfred. If the Saxons win, they are probably the number one C. They have to beat Salisbury though.

I agree, I would think that with the Strength of the NJAC that a 9-1 co-champion would be a lock in most years. Not saying they would be beat Wesley, but that game was early on in the season and similar to how Wesley has improved offensively, I think Frostburg has improved throughout the season. Not too many people gives them credit for what they have done, because they have not been that good the last decade or so.

It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Ill have to disagree with you.
Win or lose both E8 teams make the playoffs based on RR and SOS.
The turnaround has been amazing- that ill give you but I dont think that this is the year.

Fisher is far from a lock if they lose to Alfred this weekend.  It's a nice thought but the safer bet would be them not making it.

Boob- I really think that they get in.

Maybe im a horrible homer- but my gust says playoffs baby!

I agree with booby, win and you are in, lose and you leave it up to an arbitrary process that could have Fisher left on the outside looking in.

WD- totally agree---the whole point of having this "championship" game is win and in.
My homer gut tells me tho that Fisher is in win or lose as long as its not a monkey stomp.

CNU85

This Saturday marks the last game in the storied career of CNU Head Coach Matt Kelchner. I have had the pleasant honor of knowing the man over the last 17 years. First, after he was first hired by CNU in 2000 and he came to speak to the men's club at my church. Last summer I enjoyed the company of Matt and his wife. Kathryn, as they joined my wife and I at the house for a cookout with the world famous Coach Shockley wings! Here is a link from the local paper about Coach and his tenure at CNU. 16 seasons. 108-60. Only one losing season. 10 NCAA appearances. Numerous All-Americans.

He built not only a program, he built what is CNU Football. With Integrity. 16 seasons. 168 games with one more to go. And not one single time was a CNU player ejected from a game!

I hope y'all enjoy.

Frostburg with one loss, Fisher 2 losses. Really, I think it'd be that simple. The Bobcats would have eight straight wins. SJF would have 2 losses in it's last four. Frostburg would be 1-1 vs RRO and Cards 0-1. I admit that it would be a hard pill to swallow from a former bottom feeder in your conference.

We really need more nonconference games between the E8 and NJAC. I miss going to New York State. That, or a NJAC/E8 challenge maybe in the ECAC Fest. That could be cool this year with the games being playing at Franklin Field.

Minor clarification that Fisher is currently 1-0 vs RRO.

I'm sure the AD has his plan and ready to rock starting Saturday after the game. He has not shared it with me. It will be interesting to keep track of the happenings. CNU is historically known for keeping tight lipped about internal stuff in the athletic department. I have a few inside connections from my various roles in the University and I am often the last to know. And that's how it should be.

I guess the good news is that the search will start shortly after the game and in the meantime, in order to stay distracted, I get to watch the basketball teams as they open their season. Preseason polls have the men at #2 and women at #15.
