The rule is 3 yards...supposed to be strictly enforced in 2016, but it has been an issue at all levels this fall.

In my (completely 100% biased) opinion, it looks like he was about 3 yards. Looks like the play started on the 19, and he didn't go past the 16. Regardless, this was an exciting, hard fought game on both sides (one that's unfortunate that someone had to lose). I consider Wesley one of the 5 premier D3 programs, so it was awesome to get a chance to play!  :)

Ha, fair enough.  But the ball was on the 14 and he is clearly at the 10 1/2 at least.  but this is an interesting concept where you run the inside zone hard to one side (with your linemen going 3 yards downfield) and having a flat WR/RB going the other way forcing the unblocked DE/LB to stop.

I think that play would have worked if #68 didn't go downfield, as the DE and LB who bit on the fake weren't influenced by the downfield linemen anyway.

I've watched this play numerous times, and I have finally come to my decision. (which much like bluestreaks66 might be biased, haha) Ineligible Man down field could technically be called, I agree. In my opinion, unless the ref's missed this altogether (not out of the realm of possibility) the reason no flag was thrown is because #68 was engaged with the LB's at the LOS. While, he lost some contact throughout the play, he maintained his blocking assignment; which even though down field referee's always give the benefit of the doubt to the O-Line.

I second bluestreaks66, though, it was a great game and even more fun to play you all. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Wesley Football, that is one hell of a program.

As was mentioned before, the winning TD pass had an illegal pick that should have been called.

Ski, I think you are talking about JCU's first overtime TD. It came on a 3rd and 4. I had no dog in that fight at all but it was one of the most obvious pick plays I have ever seen. The receiver didn't even pretend to get out of the way of the defender, he just slammed him.

Cool moment from last Saturday. Someone snapped a pic of Wesley OC Chip Knapp and backup QB for JCU Riley Larkin. They both played quarterback at Kent Roosevelt High School.

The Packers just took a second chance on Joe Callahan.  Signed him to the practice squad.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

My brother back in Wisconsin just texted me that just as I read the post!  Good news.   I know it isn't the same money, but it does show sincere interest.

First week with Wesley out of the playoffs is always the toughest, especially this early.

UWW-JCU looking very similar to last weeks Wesley game. JCU has had 1 good scoring drive and UWW has taken advantage of an INT that bounced off the hands of a JCU  receiver. We will see how the second half goes.

No doubt!  Makes me feel a lot better knowing that Wesley was able to do the same.  A better team than what I sometimes give them credit for.

Wesley's D > UWW's D? Or pre-emptive?

Dunno.  JCU is now 21-7 over UWW with a shot at going up 3 TD's.  Oh, how I wish Wesley could have closed out that game!!!
