Oh 1 more thing - Dude #13 is awesome. Kid made some great catches and showed some real toughness. Kudos.
I was very impressed by him.  IS he back for next year?

I've recently come to the mindset that, in the playoffs, all bets are off wrt late TDs, etc.

Whether it's getting players reps, or getting something on film that your next opponent has to plan for, you simply need to do what you need to do. It's one thing to pull some of that stuff on a 2-8 team that hasn't had a winning season in 12 years, and really has a different set of program goals than you. But if you're at this stage in the game, nearly everyone is either a serious contender for a title (or wants to be). So this is simply what goes on.

There's ways to minimize the effect of it. Tell your kids to not run their mouths after a play, or whoop it up in celebration. Tell your kids to watch those blindside blocks of guys 30 yards behind the play. But, barring that nonsense, I don't have a problem with it among programs of this caliber.

Having watched Wesley take some beating at the hands of Mount, I have never had an issue with it.  Don't like them scoring stop them.  Those 6 hour drives to Alliance to see them lose by 40+ were not fun, but I never felt that Mount ran it up.

In all fairness - Mount had to keep scoring on Wesley just to get enough cushion so Callahan couldn't pull it out at the end. Don't remember exact score but 2013....31-0 at end of 1st qtr. Final 62-59. Just think w/out Burke airing it out in the 4th...Mount loses that one. Never know I guess.

BTW: I never root for a player to get hurt - but I have been hoping Hundley slips on his way to the lockers...I really wanna see Joe get a shot.

Got my tickets for the Clowns this weekend. Hoping he gets a shot!

Just curious but does anybody know why Frostburg State skipped the postgame press conference? No coaches or players showed. Thanks y'all

From what I read, DeLane Fitzgerald was indeed at the postgame news conference.

Ok. I was curious - rumor is he skipped out. I have found links to all of the post game pressers except that one. Frostburg actually posted the Witt and WJ ones.

To retire a story from a couple weeks ago that didn't seem to die -- Frostburg State didn't bring any players to the postgame news conference because none were requested to show up. The Alliance local media didn't have any questions for them.

Looking at the d3football All-Americans. I'm surprised that Matt Gono is only a third teamer. First team according to the Associated Press and according to this website (http://www.draftcountdown.com/nfl-draft-ranking/2018-offensive-guard-rankings/), he is ranked the 10th best NFL prospect at the guard position.

Also a little surprised to see nothing for EJ Lee. He's ranked 7 in the nation in rushing yards, beating out everyone except Valdivia, Wilcox, Breece, and Smith. He also has 25 rushing touchdowns, fewer than only Smith and Valdivia.

Got back from the Stagg Bowl and saw 2 teams playing a game at a different level than anyone in the east does.  The speed is different and we knew that, but the execution of game plans to stop other superior teams is in my opinion the difference.  You also have to have the athletes to execute the game plans and these 2 teams have them all over the field, not just in 5 or 6 or so positions and that will always make it tough for the East and in the end most of D3 to compete for a national title.

I was really impressed with both the athleticism and the speed above all else.  I mean the speed on how fast the lines fired off the ball was amazing with UMHB just driving into the backfield.  If their offense was more dynamic, it would have been a different game.  I have to agree that both teams were light years ahead of anybody else.
